However, this was a great romance albeit a little messy at times. I loved the matches that were made and the way we got to know the characters.
The characters in this book were well-developed, and the matchmaking setting was portrayed brilliantly. However, I went in expecting more focus on the romance between Emma and Mr. Knight, so I was disappointed when additional POVs were introduced. The multiple storylines with Emma, Jane, Lydia, and Annie made it hard to keep track, which slowed down the plot and lessened my connection with the characters. While Emma's character and the slow-burn relationships were highlights, I didn't find the humor I expected in a romantic comedy. Overall, the story didn’t fully meet my expectations.
A Season for Love follows a matchmaker as she hosts a Jane Austen-style Regency courtship season to see which of her clients make connections and fall in love in real life rather than on a dating app.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC.
This was an enjoyable read but I wasn't into it until the first 20% tbh. The characters were pretty well described and had a strong personality. The matchmaking setting was brilliantly portrayed but since I picked this book up expecting more romance between the main character, I found it quite off putting when some new characters' povs were introduced.
Well, written.
Plot was strong
Character development was good.
Overall a good book, just wasn't super interesting to me.
I thought the concept of this sounded really fun - bringing the well-loved idea of a season into modern times. This new take on it was entertaining, but I didn't fall in love with any of the characters sadly.
This was a fairly quick rom com to read. And while I didn't love every aspect of the story. I did enjoy reading it.
This was very enjoyable. The characters had so much chemistry and were interesting people who were exciting to read about.
I'd had such high hopes for this book but the premise fell really flat for me. The characters were one dimensional and not too thrilling to read about. EVERYONE had something heavy going on in their lives and it was just too much at times.
Another good read
Perfect book to curl up with and to get lost in
Will have you hooked from the first page
Thanks NetGalley

Cosy, feel good rom-com that was a joy to read. The book follows Emma Love, who follows the footsteps of her mother - also called Emma Love! - and takes over her business which is a matchmaking service which is called......Love's Love! Emma Jr hosts the season to set about finding peoples everlasting, true love.
The story is like a retake of Jane Austin's Emma crossed with Bridgeton. Very corny and light hearted with lots of laughs but felt the second half was definitely the best part.
A delightful romcom! The characters are well-developed and likeable. The writing was breezy and fun.

"A Season for Love" by Ally Sinclair is a heartwarming romance that captures the magic of unexpected connections. The book's relatable characters and charming plot make it an enchanting read, while Sinclair's ability to convey the emotions and vulnerabilities of her characters adds depth to the narrative. "A Season for Love" is a reminder that sometimes, love arrives when we least expect it, bringing warmth and joy to our lives. This book leaves readers with a sense of optimism and contentment, carrying the feeling of love's embrace long after the story ends.
As a Jane Austen fan I really enjoyed this book!
It's such a sweet read with characters inspired by some of Austen's characters.
Thank you so much to the publisher, the author and NetGalley for the ARC!
'A Season For Love' is a very sweet, heart-warming romance with hints of Jane Austen and Bridgerton about it. I really enjoyed reading this and the plot made me smile and feel the love. Sinclair's characters are delightful, I particularly liked the central three females and their individual stories as well as their close friendship. I did think the plot was a bit twee and too sweet at times and too much like an Austen novel. I understand that was the intention but it was a lot. Overall, this book put a smile on my face and gave me a warm heart.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hera Books for an advance copy.

This was a cute rom-com during the holiday season. Perfect for fans of The Holiday, or Love Actually, or even the Hallmark Channel. The characters had really good chemistry and the romance was very sweet. Definitely would recommend it!

This is such a fun book. It's an easy read, that had me gripped from the beginning. The story is well-paced and is told from the point-of-view of multiple characters, which I did find slightly confusing at the beginning, as I wasn't expecting it, but I got used to it - in the end I feel it added good insight into the other characters and helped in getting to know them better. The character development in this book is excellent, you really feel like you have got to know them well and watch them grow.
I would recommend this story if you are a fan of romance, regency stories and having a good time with the characters!
Excellent read for any time of the year. This was one I just couldn't put down, I absolutely loved the chemistry between the main characters. It's a 5 star from me
Emma Love is trying to revitalise her mother's dating agency by adding an old fashioned twist - A season, where people meet potential partners face to face, eschewing the digital dating app and going to actual conversations and fun instead. Will it work? Will everyone get paired off?
There are four couples in this story - Annie, Lydia and Jane - all of whom are Emma's clients and Emma herself. They all get their own stories, complete with happy endings.
There's a definite Bridgerton vibe to the Season - even before the Regency ball at the finale. There's even a gossip mag about the people involved in the Season. So if you wanted Bridgerton vibes with Gossip Girl scenarios, this is the perfect book for you.
