I have been a fan of Hannah Mary McKinnon for a while now and just love her thrillers. They are so twisted and addicting and this latest one is no exception. I can always count on her to deliver a completely satisfying, entertaining story and this one definitely does!
This is another suspenseful, twisty domestic thriller that is so addicting you will be hard-pressed to put it down once you start reading it. I flew through it. I loved Frankie – she definitely was angry and a bit unhinged at times, but what a refreshing character she was. I haven’t seen a character like her in a while and that’s what I love about Hannah Mary McKinnon’s books. She always gives us such unique characters and even if they frustrate you – and let me just say, Frankie definitely frustrated me a time or two – I just couldn’t get enough of her!
I’m love family dramas and this one definitely got to me. There is a lot going on here that Frankie needs to deal with – her anger issues, family issues, work issues – it really makes for a well-balanced domestic suspense novel and there were so many times I questioned who was behind the supposed accidents because of course our devious author made it so that it could have been any one of the characters we had met…she’s quite tricky that way. But I also loved that all the characters we meet are so complex, which gives them reason for being behind everything. Even Frankie herself is quite the complex, layered character and the more we learned about her, the more complicated she became.
I love a good revenge story and this one was so clever. The twists and turns it takes really kept me guessing and I found myself on edge the entire time. This is definitely a book to add to your summer reading list. It’s one that you will be able to fly through in a matter of hours and easily be entertained – exactly my kind of summer reading! I highly recommend!
The Revenge List is a page turning read that keeps your attention from the first to the last page.
We meet Frankie who has anger management issues to say the least. Everyone is in the wrong except Frankie but even she is beginning to be mad at herself.
During group counselling Frankie makes the required forgiveness list which is in fact everyone who has wronged her.
The list disappears and the bodies from that very list are piling up.
Oh Frankie, as mad as you get and as much as you make bad decision after bad decision, I couldn't help but cheer her on and hope she comes out the winner.
Hannah Mary McKinnon always tells a story that captures your attention has you reading long into the night.
Highly recommend you get your copy and settle in for a great read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harelquin Trade Publishing MIRA for a great read.
The Revenge List had me utterly hooked. I had a sneaky suspicion where this one was going early on and while I was right in one aspect I was also completely wrong in another (which I love!) In hindsight my urgency to fly through this one meant I missed some vital clues early on, but I just couldn’t put it down!
Frankie was such an interesting character. Initially I found her so frustrating and on more than one occasion I couldn’t decide if I wanted to shake her or hug her. She is incredibly angry and while at times this is irrationally so, at others I couldn’t help but feel her anger was justified and as the book progressed and we found out more about her back story and understood why she is the way she is, I grew to really care about her character.
Loved the ending!
An interesting mystery but, unfortunately, not my favorite of McKinnon’s work. I found myself skimming quite a bit but, as always with her books, I did enjoy the ending.
Frankie Morgan has agreed to go to anger management, where she is prompted to a write a list of forgiveness. Her list goes missing and the individuals on it start having freak accidents.
I really enjoyed this mystery story! I thought it would be more of a thriller but I got way into the mystery and whodunnit of it. There was still a lot of anticipation of what was going to happen next. I had an idea of “who”, and I was right, but the excitement was still very high for me. I also enjoyed the ending because it brought a lot of emotion and development. This isn’t just a book for thrills and chills, it has some great character development to it as well.
“Sometimes monsters past were best left alone hidden in the deepest, darkest forests of our minds, tucked away behind the gnarliest trees.”
The Revenge List comes out 5/23.
This plot was so good and the ending was fantastic, but I did find the twist easy to guess. I also found it a little repetitive at times, but really enjoyed it overall!
Frankie needs anger management - she's a ball of anger, resentment, and bad behavior that's impacting her life and her father's business. So it wasn't hard for her to write a list of people who have "ruined" her life as part of an exercise and she actually put her own name on the list. Problem is- that list went missing and now bad things are happening to the people on it. Who took her list? And why? Is that person going to come for her ? Of course, for the last one, so this is all about how Frankie finds the villain. Let's face it- she's not a very likable person and she's got some grudges that are a little immature but others on her list are rotten so this is a bit of a novel of reconciliation and foregiveness. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC. A fast paced read that might be a bit out there at times but which kept me turning the pages.

Frankie Morgan is sent to an anger management group by her Father, who is also her boss, after an incident at work. It’s not the first time she’s had issues with her anger. Most of it comes from past trauma, but Frankie has a short fuse and it could endanger her job. At anger management everyone must write a list of people who are to be forgiven.
Frankie’s list goes missing and she is left to figure out where it is, who may have taken it, and why people on her list are having terrible accidents.
I like the premise of the story. I think Frankie eventually realizes her reactions are her responsibility and learns to accept things.

THE REVENGE LIST by Hannah Mary McKinnon starts off with a truly heart-pounding scene and it feels like this was made for the screen!
⭐⭐⭐💫
Frankie Morgan has a serious anger problem. When her dad insists she go to anger management classes in order to keep her job with him, she relents and even starts to write out a list of people she needs to forgive. It gets interesting when she sees a handsome participant walk in. They ditch the class, head out for coffee and when Frankie returns from a quick wash break, she finds her new acquaintance rifling through her things. Heading home immediately via a rideshare, she ends up at home with her notebook missing with all the names. When people on that list begin having "accidents" it gets serious and Frankie has to figure out how to reign herself in to solve this before people she loves get hurt.
I really thought this was a fun story. Frankie was quite the cocked hammer, ready to go off at anything and while I did like how she grew by the end, it was a painful process to observe at times!😂
I did figure out the twist pretty early, but still enjoyed how it was revealed and really liked that last chapter!
This is a perfect choice for a not-overly heavy thriller that you can just sit back and get taken on a ride...over the cliff! 😉 (not a spoiler!)
Thank you to @NetGalley and @_mira_books_ for the opportunity to read this digital arc and share my thoughts. This book will be available on May 23!
I liked this, although I personally didn't love the twists - the big reveal about halfway through felt a little out of left field to me. I think the unreliable narrator season is over and authors should move on. However, I did the angle of anger management! Very cool.
The Revenge List by Hannah Mary McKinnon is another well written thriller by a very gifted author. I always wait with great anticipation to read her next best seller. She has hit this one out of the ballpark! This is a suspenseful domestic thriller that is so addicting you will not be able to put it down. Filled with family drama, suspense, emotional and anger issues and tons of revenge. The twist and turns are perfectly placed and may make your head spin. It is fast paced with well developed and complex characters. The descriptions she provides are real and makes you feel like you are part of the plot. This is a must read for all thriller fans, Ms. McKinnon NEVER disappoints.
Thank you NetGalley, Mira, HTP and Hannah Mary McKinnon for another thrilling story to read and review. The opinions expressed are are strictly my own.

The master of clever thrillers, Hannah Mary McKinnon, returns following Never Coming Home with her seventh novel, a brilliant psychological thriller, THE REVENGE LIST —a woman completes a list for anger management class of those who have wronged her—then everyone on the list winds up in an accident or death.
McKinnon delivers yet another stellar thriller packed with tension and twists. The author leads readers down a dark, twisty path of secrets, obsession, and revenge—A wickedly chilling suspense.
Frankie Morgan, single in her early thirties, works in her dad's construction business, and a series of events have gotten out of control, leading her dad to mandate she attends anger management class.
As part of the assignment, the instructor has requested the class to compile a list of those who have angered them over the years to forgive them, putting it behind them. Frankie compiles the list and then loses it.
And one by one, the people she's named start getting hurt in freak accidents, each deadlier than the last. Who has seen this list? When a private list turns PUBLIC and dangerous. An innocent anger management therapy exercise turns deadly.
Now on a desperate mission to locate the list and contact the remaining names on the list to try and save them before it is too late. Frankie realizes not only has someone read her list but is actively hunting down the people she has named and is harming them.
She finally locates the list and is tasked with tracking down everyone on the list and trying to figure out who has seen the list.
Her anger started after her mom was taken from her by a hit-and-run driver, and then more events piled on, igniting her temper with a short fuse. She is always angry. It is ok to be angry, but it is how you react to the circumstances.
How long before Frankie or someone close to herself becomes the next victim?
What starts as a FORGIVENESS LIST turns into THE REVENGE LIST. Who is out to get Frankie? Who is the Punisher?
The past and present collide, and a gripping backstory leads to an explosive revelation that will have you dying for a sequel and more FRANKIE!
I adore Hannah's writing and have read all her books. A favorite author, and every book is unique.
With her signature dark humor, twisty plots, highly creative imaginative storylines, brilliant razor-sharp writing, and well-developed characters—the author's creative skills are on full display in THE REVENGE LIST.
I loved THE REVENGE LIST and her best yet! My Top List of Thrillers of 2023. Hoping we see more of Frankie in the future. She is too good to end—a heart-pounding thriller with jaw-dropping twists and surprises. Highly recommend it for those who enjoy intelligently written thrillers.
Stay tuned for my #AuthorElevatorSeries Q&A with Hannah, where we go behind the scenes of the book and this fab author on pub day, May 23rd.

I could not finish enough of this book to be able to leave a comprehensive review, but I hope it finds its audience and I am grateful to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy.
This was my first read from Hannah and absolutely loved this one! Frankie Morgan has a forgiveness list ..or a revenge list? The people in Frankie’s list mysteriously disappears or gets in to an accident. And she is horrified since the forgiveness list has some of her closest family in the list. The twist at the end is jaw dropping. Highly recommended!
Hannah Mary McKinnon is a genius!
I absolutely loved this one. Frankie was so unreliable. She definitely puts you through a wild ride.
She seemed so unstable but as the book progresses you realize life has been hard to her. You start to feel for her. At certain points I did just want to hug her. Life was not easy.
The twists were fantastic especially the last one! I really hope it leads to a sequel!
This book has great potential, the synopsis sounds intriguing! Frankie starts attending amber management classes at her father's request/ demand, in order to start "getting her sit together". As part of her class, she writes a forgiveness list, a list of people who she holds anger towards, with the intent of working towards forgiveness. However, one by one, the people in her list start getting injured, more severely each time, one even being murdered. Sounds good right?
Unfortunately, I just could not get into this book. I did not feel invested in Frankie, and I found the writing to feel rather amateur and all over the place. Mid-way through the book we are introduced to a major life event that completely changes the whole book but it just felt so out of left field.
I will give marginally more credit to the ending, as I did find myself wanting to read the last few chapters to hear how it all pieced together, and curious about what the inevitable twist at the end would be, although let's be honest, even the twist was very predictable.
I'll be honest, this would have been a DNF for me long before the glimmer of interest towards the end, but I don't DNF ARCs, so here we are.
Regardless, thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy, unfortunately this one just wasn't for me.
I've been meaning to try more of Hannah Mary McKinnon's work after an excellent first experience with her writing last year, and I saw this blog tour for The Revenge List as the perfect opportunity to finally do so. The fact that the blurb of this newest psychological thriller sounds absolutely fascinating only made me want to read it more... And I've been looking forward to dive in. My expectations were high, and I have to say that they were more than met! I absolutely loved my time with this twisted and highly engaging psychological thriller.
The premise of The Revenge List hooked me from the very beginning: the main character Frankie with anger issues, the forgiveness a.k.a. revenge list, the people on that list mysteriously getting hurt... I mean, how can you not be intrigued by all that?! To make you even more invested, the story starts with a bang that will leave you wondering how on earth the story ends up escalating to that point. Instead of being frustrating, this flashforward only managed to draw me in from the very first chapter, and I was immediately invested in Frankie's story.
The main character Frankie is also one of the reasons this story worked so well for me. It's true that she is a morally grey character with a bucketload of flaws, but somehow I managed to warm up to her straight away. There was something about her character that was both likeable and frustrating at the same time, but somehow it just worked for this story. I enjoyed spending time with her and seeing the events through her eyes; both the flashbacks to the past and information about the people on her list giving more insight in her past and helping you understand why she is how she is.
I don't want to discuss the plot in too much detail to avoid spoilers; The Revenge List is one of those stories where it's best to go in blind to experience the full effect of the plot twists and new reveals about Frankie's past. What I can say is that there are plenty of heavier topics incorporated into the plot, and Frankie and the characters go through a lot both in past and present. The plot twists themselves are effective, and I never guessed the full truth about it all. And what a way to end the story with a cliffhanger! I'm not sure if there is going to be a sequel or not, but the ending definitely leaves things wide open.
The Revenge List is a well written, suspenseful and captivating psychological thriller I simply couldn't get enough of. Revenge meets being incriminated meets family meets forgiveness meets crime, all with a main character that will keep you on your toes the whole time. I will be looking forward to whatever Hannah Mary McKinnon comes up with next!
I am always a fan of Hannah Mary McKinnon and I will always pick up whatever she writes. That being said, this was not a favourite of hers. It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that it wasn't a stand out to me.
I feel like this was more of a suspense than a thriller and while it was a bit of a slow burn at the beginning, the second half of the book was my favourite. Things really ramped up and this is where the tension came in for me. I enjoyed the pace of the second half and while I did have the ending figured out, it was still entertaining to watch it unfold. I feel like I flew through the last 30% of the book. I also really liked the Revenge List itself. Main character Frankie, who attends an anger management class is tasked with making a forgiveness list. But when that list mysteriously goes missing and the people on it continue getting hurt, this is what creates tension in the story. Frankie herself isn't doing the hurting, so that asks the question: Who is? And why? With the cops asking questions, her forgiveness list could easily look like a revenge list, so Frankie sets out to try to figure things out on her own.
If I had a complaint, it would be that I really disliked Frankie. Normally, I don't mind an unlikable main character. But some of the choices she made were a bit silly and far fetched and I found myself getting quite frustrated with her. In the last chapter, it seemed as though she had maybe finally changed, but it was brought on too quickly and I just didn't see much growth in her throughout the story.
While this isn't a fave, I will not hesitate to pick up Hannah's next book because she has become an auto buy author for me.
If you like stories with family drama, crazy and unlikable main characters, people seeking revenge and unexplainable tragedies, then I think you will really like this book!
Thank you to the tagged publisher & @netgalley for my #gifted eARC in exchange for an honest review!
✨𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤?
This is my first read by McKinnon and it definitely will not be my last! This was such a well-written, twisty, suspenseful, addictive thriller! I flew through the beginning part of the book, but by the middle it slowed down a bit-but I was still hooked and couldn’t put it down. I was dying to know what happened next! The characters were all so well developed, the plot had me hooked, and the pace, although not consistent, had me flipping through the pages until the very end. The MC, Frankie, was angry and unhinged, and she frustrated me at times, but yet kept me entertained too. The ending was 😱 that twist! I LOVED IT! Bravo to McKinnon for delivering such a well-written and unique story for all of us to enjoy! I am already looking forward to her next book!
