Frankie, the main character, makes a list of people who have hurt her. The list goes missing. The people have things happen to them. What is going on? Who has the list? Frankie has so many despicable people around her. Solving the mystery is almost impossible. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author.
While attending an anger management group, Frankie makes a list of people she could forgive. The notebook with her list goes missing and not long after, ever increasing harm begins to come to those on the list. Frankie doesn’t want to go to the police because she has had a recent run in with the police/court system and is on thin ice. She needs to locate the people on the list and warn them.
I could not put this book down. As the reader, we follow the path that Frankie does in suspecting different people. I did not guess correctly who was behind the accidents or the why. The story begins with a heart pounding scene of the main character being in a car going through some barricades and off a cliff with someone else at the driver’s seat. I loved this jump start and quickly fell in love with the character of Frankie. She has quite the history and feels so much guilt for things that happened in her past. Her anger issues come from a place of hurt and might be the thing that saves her in the end.
As always I would highly recommend Hannah Mary McKinnon’s books and look forward to meeting the character of Vienna in her next book. Thank you to @hannahmarymckinnon, @netgalley and @_mira_books_ for an arc in exchange for my honest opinions. The Revenge List comes out May 23, 2023.
A strange story of an angry woman who makes a list for forgiveness, as advised by the anger mangement group, and then the list is stolen, and instead of forgiveness, it seems like it's a revenge list, but who's doing it.
With an intricate plot, cast of flawed but intriguing characters and plenty of suspense "The Revenge List" is a must-read for anyone who loves a good Mystery Thriller.
From the first page until the last, this book had me on the edge of my seat trying to solve the mystery.
I looked forward to reading more from this author!
Thank you Hannah Mary McKinnon, Net Galley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, Mira for providing me with an ARC of this novel.
Frankie is considered a woman with anger issues who is forced to attend a weekly anger management group weekly after the insistence of her father as it’s affecting his business. After her first meeting she has to make a forgiveness list. The list turns out to be a revenge list her notebook goes missing from her bag after having coffee with Ethan, she ends up finding it by calling the coffee shop. After that the people on her list start having accidents. Frankie starts to spiral and thinks she’s someone is gaslighting her. . This is the first book I have read from the author, I found it a decent read it was full of plot twists and suspense. The way the book ended, I was left wanting more.
A special thanks to the publishers Mira books, Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of The Revenge List by Hannah Mary McKinnon
This one was honestly such a wild, intense ride. Probably my favorite one I've read so far by Hannah Mary McKinnon- but the main thing that kept this from being a 5 star read for me was our MC, Frankie Morgan.
She was so insanely impulsive and explosive, and I realize she was in anger management or therapy for it, but her decisions and the way she spoke to others had me grinding my teeth on more than one occasion. Good LORD, girl. You're supposed to be in your 30's, right? She acted like a total teenager! She was super unlikable for much of the book for me, honestly. She did get her redemption throughout the book, and I did end up really liking her at the end (speaking of the end... WHAT!? hello cliffhanger!) but I just couldn't handle her selfishness towards everyone.
The whole revenge list concept itself was also a little confusing to me. It didn't make sense why she added her son to the list, even though he ended up... the way he did. But she couldn't have known that when she made the list. It was a little confusing, and although the story itself was deeply intriguing, it was super unrealistic throughout most of it.
It definitely kept me guessing, though, and it read very fast paced for me. I enjoyed it, and now I'm really curious what we're getting next from Hannah Mary McKinnon!
Thank you so much Netgalley & HTP Influencers for the opportunity to read this and review it before it's release!
Thank you for the advanced readers copy in return for an honest review
It’s a story about a woman named Frankie Morgan. Due to an incident at work her dad insists she take anger management classes. There she is asked to make a list of forgiveness.
The main character is quite likeable and you almost feel like you are reading about about a friend, that gets herself in some sticky situations
Just after the halfway point the first twist
Such a good read.
I’ve been in the mood for a good thriller and I picked up @hannahmarymckinnon latest novel, the Revenge List!
Frankie Morgan has experienced a lot in her life and it has made her very angry. To the point, her father who is also her boss, had required she take anger management classes. In the first session, she is to make a list of people to forgive and she writes down 10 names. She then sees a cute guy, flirts with him and they head off to get coffee. It isn’t until the next day that she realizes that her notebook is gone and so is the list.
She doesn’t think anything about the list until people from the list start getting seriously hurt. Frankie knows it must be because of something she did or somehow caused inadvertently. But she needs to figure it out quickly.
This book is OVER THE TOP drama! So much stuff happens so quickly. It’s easy to get caught up in and before I knew it, I was 100 pages later. Frankie makes so many impulsive decisions and I just wanted her to take her time and legitimately think about her actions, but she was always on the move. I also loved her brother and his husband, they had it rough in the book, but you could tell they were very close knit.
Thank you so much @_mira_books @htpbooks and the author for my gifted ARC. The Revenge List is out May 23!
I received an advanced copy of this book from Harlequin Trade Publishing via NetGalley.
The people in Frankie Morgan’s life say she’s angry. Emotionally stunted. Combative. But really, who can blame her? It’s hard being nice when your clients are insufferable, your next-door neighbor is a miserable woman and the cowardly driver who killed your mother is still out living it up somewhere.
Somehow, though, she finds herself at her very first anger-management group session—drinking terrible coffee and learning all about how “forgiveness is a process.” Frankie is skeptical. A list of everyone who’s wronged her in some way over the years? More paper, please. Still, she makes the pointless list—with her own name in a prominent spot—and promptly forgets about it…until it goes missing. And one by one, the people she’s named start getting hurt in freak accidents, each deadlier than the last.
This one was a little out there for me but the description did sound good so I thought I would give it a try. The character of Frankie Morgan was just real, a down-to-earth, down-on-her-luck, everyday person just trying to get by with all of the problems she has going on in her life. This was a fast-paced read (I read it in a day) that was enjoyable.

3.5 stars
Frankie Morgan is classified as an angry woman, however I wouldn’t say that it would be surprising after everything she’s been through!
She makes a list of all of the people that have wronged her over the years (you could say it’s a revenge list.. ha) but then misplaces the list. Then, all of a sudden, bad things start happening to the people on her revenge list and she isn’t sure who is behind it or why they’re doing it.
I found this one a bit slow for a Hannah Mary McKinnon novel but it was overall enjoyable and entertaining!
Full review on Instagram and goodreads will be posted and linked soon!!
This one is a 3.5 star read for me! It was good but nothing super amazing and I did feel like it was all very predictable. I did enjoy it though and will be recommending it!
Frankie has what you’d call, “anger issues.” She promises her dad (reluctantly) she’ll attend an anger- management group. Though she doesn’t have much faith it’ll help, she makes it to the first session. The moderator of the group (who also happens to be her dad’s new girlfriend) has everyone write down the names of those who have wronged you in the past…making it a forgiveness list. Sure wouldn’t want that list getting in the wrong hands!
And…you guessed it. Frankie’s notebook with these names goes missing. This list just went from forgiveness list to a revenge list, as random accidents begin happening to all the names she wrote down.
Can Frankie track down who took her notebook? And the reason for these bizarre attacks? Can she stop this person before he reaches the bottom of the list?
This one took me a while to connect with. I found Frankie somewhat annoying. So much so, I actually put it aside for several days before I made my way back for a second chance. Lucky me! I picked it up again I was all in! And the story zoomed off in full thriller mode!
There were just enough twists to keep you on your toes without going overboard. And the ending was perfect!😱. Something that so rarely happens!💁🏻♀️
Also...I adored her crotchety neighbor and wished she would have had a few more scenes to help balance Frankie out.
I’ve been a bit hit or miss with this author in the past but I’m glad I didn’t give up on this one! Hope you enjoy it too!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing 🌻
I always enjoy the snarky narration of McKinnon’s characters, and Frankie was no exception. This twisty, paranoia inducing story has such a unique premise while also examining how anger can eats away at us. I loved slowly unraveling what was happening to Frankie, and was totally shocked by the ending.
I love Hannah Mary McKinnon's books. They're so entertaining and twisty, and this one was another great read. This was totally bingeable. If you haven't read a book by this author, here is your sign to pick on up, including this. 🙌🏼
The people in Frankie's life have always said she has anger issues. Well when an incident happens at her work, she ends up in anger management . They are given the assignment of making a list of people they'd like to forgive. When she makes the list, she also puts herself on the list. Well then her notebook with that list ends up missing. After that, all the people that were on her list start having freak accidents, and they are each worse than the last. Who took this list, and is it only coincidence that she's unintentionally getting the revenge she's wanted? She's also needs to figure out who is behind all this before they get to her name, because then she could really be in trouble!
Out May 23.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy. All opinions are my own. My review will be posted on Instagram, Bookbub, Goodreads and Amazon once it publishes.
This was my first book by Hannah Mary McKinnon, and it won’t be my last. There are so many twists and turns in this book that will keep you guessing until the very surprising ending!
Frankie has an anger management problem. Her Dad gets her involved in a group to help her deal with her problems. During the first session, she makes a “forgiveness” list. After the meeting, her notebook - with the list - disappears. Soon, things start to happen to people on that list.
What then unfolds is a story that will keep your heart racing! I really felt for Frankie throughout this whole story. She deals with gaslighting, and the people around her can definitely not be understanding at times. On the other hand, Frankie does have issues that she needs help dealing with. This book will make you think. And don’t get me started about the ending. Wow.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the advanced reader copy. I highly recommend this one!
Where do I even start to review this one?? Such a unique, twisty thriller that had me completely enthralled in the story!
Frankie has started anger management classes after yelling at a client while working for her father's construction company. At her first session, she is told to make a forgiveness list of all the people she needs to forgive. She plays along, and then her list goes missing. When several people off her list wind up injured, she isn't sure whether to think it is a coincidence or if someone is targeting her list. She can't go to the police since she believes she will be implicated, so instead she starts investigating (while trying to rein in all that extra anger).
Frankie flies off the handle so easily when she tries to rein in that anger, and we see several instances where she lets it fly and bad things happen in her life. When we later get her back story, I could completely sympathize with her and understand why she was just SO MAD all the dang time. This was a character who truly could benefit from anger management and therapy!
As for the story itself, I loved the premise and loved being along for the ride while Frankie went to see some of the remaining people on the list. The ending didn't feel like a complete shock after what we learned throughout the story, but it was still incredibly entertaining and well written.
This one is binge worthy and propulsive and I'm excited to go read the author’s backlist!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing (MIRA) for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
T G I F 🍷 B O O K 🍷 R E V I E W: “The Revenge List” by Hannah Mary McKinnon
“They say your life flashes before you when you’re close to death. That didn’t happen to me. Instead, it was all my regrets. Choices I’d made. Not made. Things I’d said and done. Not said. Not done. It was far too late to make ammends. There would be no opportunity to beg anyone for forgiveness. No possibility of offering some”
Frankie Morgan has landed herself in Anger Management classes after blowing up at a customer while working at her father’s construction company. As per his request, she goes to the class in an attempt to minimize her anger flare ups!
The first assignment is to compile a FORGIVENESS LIST … a list of all the people who have wronged her at some point in her life ✍️. But then somehow her list goes MISSING and Frankie finds out that one by one the people on her list are becoming victims to freak accidents. Did her forgiveness list suddenly turn into a REVENGE list somehow?? And who is picking them off to serve justice for all the people who did Frankie dirty??
Another SLAM DUNK thriller by Hannah Mary McKinnon! I was so pleased to be a part of this cover reveal back in January and excited now to share my review!!! Thank you ever so much to @hannahmarymckinnon @harpercollinsca @_mira_books_ @netgalley for advanced digital copy! This book releases next month on May 23, 2023 🙌🏻

Thank you to NetGalley, Hannah Mary McKinnon and Harlequin Publishing for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.
I love HMM so much; I’ve met her in real life and she’s so sweet and generous so sometimes it’s shocking she can write something so different from her personality! This main character was so different and slightly irritating in certain ways, but I enjoyed her anyway. I did not see that twist coming and I loved it. It’s a nice surprise!
This book was very slow to start and the main character seemed like a child at times but about halfway through it really started getting better and the ending was very good.
I love this author’s writing and will read any book she writes. I was so eager to read The Revenge List and it did not let me down.
The Revenge List by Hannah Mary McKinnon
They say life flashes before your eyes when you’re about to die. But all she could see was regret.
Somehow, though, she finds herself at her very first anger-management group session—drinking terrible coffee and learning all about how “forgiveness is a process.”
One that starts with a list. Frankie is skeptical.
Could it be coincidence giving her the revenge she never dared to seek…or something more sinister? If Frankie doesn’t find out who’s behind it all, she might be next.
Out on May 23.
I love a good revenge thriller and this one hit the spot!! The main character is totally unhinged and fabulously written. The whole thing was compelling and I couldn't put it down!! Thank you Netgalley Great read!!
