Another winner from the one and only Hannah Mary McKinnon! I enjoyed the over-the-top psychotic nature of The Revenge List and had so much fun reading this one - the ending clinched it for me!
Frankie finds herself at anger management classes after promising her father (and also boss) she’d attend for 6 weeks. She’s had a rough life and she hasn’t always handled things correctly… to say the least, and her family has had enough.
At her first session of anger management she’s been tasked to write a forgiveness list. When she loses her notebook with the list, and things start happening to the people on the list, Frankie starts worrying about who will be next. Who is doing this and why?
I really enjoyed this book a lot. The book is easy to read and I found myself wanting to know more about Frankie and why someone was out to get her. The book kept me guessing and had me flip flopping a few times and what the outcome would be.
Thanks to @netgalley and @harlequintradepublishing for an advanced copy of this book.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In The Revenge List, Hannah Mary McKinnon takes anger-management and forgiveness and drops them on their head in a tight thriller that shows how easily a simple list can mess up your life.
Frankie Morgan has anger issues. She's had trouble with that before and when a new incident threatens the company, she ends up enrolling in an anger management program. As part of the program, she's asked to create a list of people who wronged her -- a Forgiveness List -- to help work through her anger issues. But then that list goes missing. And bad things happen to the people on that list, turning that list into what looks like a Revenge List. The story is told from Frankie's point of view.
I really liked the idea of this story. There's a whole lotta anger going on all over the place in the world today and it seemed very much in line with the times. I liked the honest portrayal of Frankie as an angry woman, because there are plenty of them in the workplace. It was easy to connect with Frankie on some level and I liked her search for who stole her notebook.
This was my first book from this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect but I did like the level of suspense that sort of ebbed and flowed for me in this tale. While the who-dun-it part wasn't difficult to figure out, it did have some twisty pages that I enjoyed. The ending was crazy and I liked that too because it stayed on my mind for a bit after reading.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I found Frankie to be an interesting character, sometimes unlikable to I was able to connect with her and that made me invested in the story. The suspense part kept me reading in spite of some uneven pacing. I will definitely check out future titles from this author.
This book was a struggle for me just because I didn’t relate to the main character’s anger issues at all. If my toddler acted like her, I would be very disappointed in his behavior and here is a grown woman throwing fits! Other than that, I thought the storyline and idea were enjoyable. The twists and turns were fun but I just did not like Frankie!
People say Frankie Morgan is angry, argumentative and emotionally stunted. But who could blame her for feeling this way when the people around her are intolerable? Somehow, she finds herself at her first anger management class where she learns that “forgiveness is a process”…so she creates a list, of everyone who has wronged her. When the list goes missing and the people on it end up getting hurt in freak accidents, it’s not just fun and games anymore.
I loved this concept for a book! It was different from anything else I’ve read and held my attention well throughout. Thank you Netgalley and Harlewuinn Trading MIRA for the ARC! This book is out now :)
I enjoyed this book, it was a little over the top, but I like that! My only problem (and this is strictly personal) was that I really did not like Frankie. Not one bit! The story was a good one, I kind of figured it was her son but didn't really figure out who the son was. I like how it ended, thinking Jeremy was dead and finding out he isn't.
Good book. Thank you for the opportunity.
Everyone knows Frankie Morgan is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode with her anger issues. She admits it to herself, but decided to attend an anger management class to appease dear old dad. In class she writes a ‘forgiveness’ list to the people who she despises the most, herself numero uno.
The people on that list start getting into terrible accidents and she realizes this can’t be a coincidence.
Oh she is ANGRY and thinks she knows exactly who is committing these atrocities.
I wasn’t a fan of Frankie at first, but at the end she grew upon me. The ending had my stomach in knots with all the twisted reveals.
After an incident at work, Frankie is subjected to anger management therapy.
She has to write a forgiveness list, but it turns in to a hit list of sorts!
I couldn't get in to this. Frankie was a horrible character and over the top with her anger issues!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this story. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Well, I've been on a wild ride. The twist and turns in this story kept me interested to the point I finished it in one long evening. I have no idea how the author came up with the plot but brava, it's very good.

I am so thankful to Harlequin Trade Publishing/MIRA, Hannah Mary McKinnon, and NetGalley for getting advanced digital and physical copies of his book before publication day. What a seriously twisted and demented tale needing to be told. I am literally living for this book.
The Revenge List is my first novel by Hannah Mary McKinnon and it definitely won't be my last!
She gives us a unique premise in this captivating, page-turning story.
Frankie Morgan is enrolled in anger management classes. One of her lessons is to make a "Forgiveness List". Her list is lost and then accidents start to happen to people on her list.
Many twists and turns with a surprising ending make this novel a thrill ride that you don't want to end.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing MIRA for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
I went into this book thinking I knew where it was going to go, in some ways I was right, and in some ways oh so wrong.
Frankie has seen more than her fair share of tragedy and when an outburst at work lands her in anger management she knows she has to get herself together.
When the group leader suggests everyone write a "forgiveness list" Frankie writes the list but for her, it's all the people she wants revenge on.
Little did she know that the last person that should see that list would be the one to end up with it.
Through a series of horrifying "accidents," Frankie sees one after another of the people on her list who have horrific accidents and knows she has to do something to protect those that she carelessly put on that list.
Who will end up alive, who can she trust, what happened to her son, and who is leaving those sunflowers, all questions that will be answered in a fantastic story of suspense and terror.
Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for providing a copy of this E-Book, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Frankie was downright unbearable at times, but the ending of this story took me by surprise and I'm hoping we will get more Frankie at one point.
Ok, this one lives up to the hype! I kept seeing this on bookstagram and was so excited to get a copy. This was a wild ride that kept me guessing. I kinda figured the twist out close to the end, but that did not take away from the thrill of reading it. Frankie, the protagonist was a likable character that I found myself cheering for! She is messy, impulsive, angry, and also relatable! The Revenge List is a fast-paced thriller that was entertaining and starts off with such a shock it was hard to put down! I will definitely be first in line for Hannah Mary Mckinnons next book!
Another fabulous book by Hanna Mary McKinnon. This was fast paced and I read it in one sitting. I cannot wait for the sequel (with that ending, there better be one). HMK has done it again. Great story.

What works for me in The Revenge List by Hannah Mary McKinnon is the first person narrative. It allows that vision into Frankie and allows the reader to walk her path. What doesn't work in the book is also the first person narrative. The person responsible for turning forgiveness into revenge is revealed through Frankie's eyes. That leaves a distance from that person and hence from the ending of the book. The ending leaves me wanting to know more about this individual and life from their perspective that leads them down this road.

I requested this title on Netgalley after reading reviews about how good it was.
The first few pages into the book, I was hooked. The story starts with a bang. Unfortunately, I didn't care for Frankie: I knew she would be an obnoxious character since she's in anger management classes, and her unwillingness to accept responsibility when she is the cause of the problem irked me. It took me three days to get to chapter 11. Today I considered just DNF: to be fair, I speed-read to the end.
On a positive note: the twist is a good one: I wouldn't have thought to go down the road the author did to make you keep guessing who is stalking Frankie.
Thank you so much for sharing this advanced copy ebook with me. Unfortunately this book did not work for me. I had great difficulty with the main character. Her behaviors throughout the book were frustrating to me and really made it hard for me to enjoy the story. I did not finish this book. My apologies.
This was a solid thriller with an interesting premise. Frankie starts attending an anger management support group and meets a single man. After their evening together her forgiveness list goes missing. When the people on the list begin having dangerous accidents, Frankie realizes she could be next. This story moved quickly and kept my attention the whole time. I liked how we learned about their connection after Frankie hears about what befell them. It made for a fast pace and I needed to keep reading to find out what would happen next. It did have a satisfying ending and I liked how the author wrapped up Frankie's story (or did she?). All in all, I enjoyed this read and will continue to read McKinnon's future work. Her books always entertain me. Thanks to Hannah Mary McKinnon, Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this title in exchange for my honest review.
After a incident at work Frankie must attend anger management therapy. At therapy the group is told it write a forgiveness list, or as it seems to become a revenge list as Frankie’s list goes missing and bad things start to happen to the people she put on her list.
Like I said I couldn’t put this down Hannah has a way of writing that keeps you flipping the pages and it just flows so well. I really liked Frankie’s character and it was interesting to read from someone who can be a angry person. I didn’t really know where this book was going and mostly everything in the book surprised me (one exception but didn’t take away from my enjoyment and fast page flipping!).
I have read 3 of Hannah’s books and I can’t wait to finish the rest on my shelf!!
