The cover of the book is appealing, however, I found it difficult to finish reading it. Despite my initial interest, I was unable to complete it. It felt really flat for me, hopefully, the other books are better.
I loved the beautiful art, the illustrations were sublime, but unfortunately that’s where the love ended for me, because the formatting was awful and made it hard to persevere, I think it hurt my head, I think dialogue was missing, so I can’t really judge this well at all on it’s story , but it’s gorgeous
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
How can a book so gorgeous get to be so irredeemably unreadable? If I was here to rate the visuals alone I'd be irritating in my praise, but that's nothing compared to the insipid verbiage and ill-placed speech balloons, and "Chapter One" coming pages before "Book One" and the cut-aways to bilge, and – ye gods, it's wallpaper spoilt by thousands of ruinous words. No way has the creator of this got much graphic novel background and knowledge. No way.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I liked the beautiful illustrations in this book but for the story I found it a bit difficult to stay interested in what was happening, also knowing that this is the second volume in the Theory of Magic's series. I still recommend it for the lovers of fairies.
thank you very much Netgalley for sending me this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I had to read the previous volume to understand a little bit more of what the story is about.
I was entertained, but I feel that it lacks a little more development, yes, the cover of the story is beautiful and that's what caught my attention.
I feel that if it focuses a little to develop the story a little, this can be improved.
This was a really fun read - but I worry the formatting killed this one for me. I felt like there were either holes in the story or missing pages/with formatting the dialogue seemed to be missing information as well. The artwork in this story was absolutely S T U N N I N G and partially makes up for the other issues.
The story has some hard moments to follow; maybe because of the format. There were also a few speech bubbles missing dialogue. But I absolutely loved the artwork. The style and colours are truly mesmerizing, and I can’t wait to read more of JP’s graphic novels.
The artwork in this graphic novel was AMAZING! They did an amazing job with everything. The story was interesting but had moments that were hard to follow. It felt like I was missing a few pages. Also a few speech bubbles were missing some dialogue the last few pages so im not completely sure how it ended. I'm excited for this release and the next book!
I really enjoyed the pictures and bits of lore in between the different parts of this. It's an enjoyable story about fairies and the illustrations are beautiful. It reminds me of the Tinker Bell books but for people who aren't kids anymore.
This was a beautifully done graphic novel, exactly what I expected from the cover. I had a great time getting to know these characters and their world. It does an excellent job of telling the story and works well in the fantasy world. JP Roth's writing style is excellent, and I adored the artwork.
