Great book with a bookworm and a Viking...what could be better?

The spice was great.
Their chemistry, top notch.
Their spitfire little quarrels were adorable and swoonworthy.
And the battles jumped off the page they were so well written.

Only complaint was it was a tad predictable.

ARC received for review

Loved Sven. He is his father's son (Bjorn Cursed). This was the book I was hoping we were going to get. Rivka at times annoyed me but in the end I enjoyed the book. Sad to see this series end.

When I finished reading Bjorn Cursed and met Sven, I knew I needed him to have his own book. And I've been eager for it ever since. I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to finally get his story in my hands. I don't often fangirl the heck out of myself, but I'm fangirling people!

I already knew that Sven was saved and enslaved by the goddess Freya and was now free to live any life he chose. His parents were alive and he could have a relationship with them, but aside from joining The Brotherhood, he's kept his distance.

And maybe, with the weight of destiny on his shoulders, he'll finally give himself a chance to be truly happy and embrace all of his blessings.

I really enjoyed this story. As the conclusion to an incredible series, I was happy to see most of the past characters make an appearance and in such impactful ways. I loved what blossomed between Sven and Rivka. From the way he hunted her around the world to bring her to justice in the plot against The Brotherhood, to his realizing that all he wanted to do was protect her from any and everyone who might have reason to do her harm. Sven was such an amazing hero and Rivka came into her own in such a wonderful way!

This series made N.J. Walters a must-read and must-buy author for me. There are incredibly gifted heroes, exciting plots and connections, and so much freaking love!

This one wasn't on my radar as an upcoming book to look for, but was very pleased to see when it was. I have loved every one of the stories...each book is a standalone, but the story as a whole is much richer if you have read the others. The characters grew with each story even when they weren't the main character.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve really enjoyed the Forgotten Brotherhood series – even though I inadvertently skipped the first two in the series. Each addition to the series added another layer, but none was more surprising than when Sven was introduced. It took a while for him to get his own story, but it was worth the wait and a fitting conclusion to the series.

Rivka was another surprise and his attraction to her was a complication. But nothing is exactly as it seems and she wouldn’t be the first “complication” to the Brotherhood that turned out to be more than what she seemed.

Although I’m sorry to see the series come to an end, I still have Fury Unleashed and Arctic Bite to catch up on – which will provide the perfect set up for a series re-read 😉

I have been provided with a review copy of Hunter Avenged from NetGalley for an impartial review. This book was just so easy to get lost in. I completely got lost in the story and I just loved getting to see these new characters come together. I just absolutely love this story and I just didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

A Must Read!

Hunter Avenged by NJ Walters is an awesome addition to the Forgotten Brotherhood series! This series has been amazing and each book is a standalone.

Rivka is a fallen angel thought to be responsible for putting the brotherhood and their mates in danger. Fleeing to Earth, she hides as a human, staying one step ahead of the Viking warrior, Sven, who is after her.

Sven wants to catch Rivka because of all the danger she’s put the brotherhood in, and he’s become obsessed. When he finally catches her, things are not what they seem and the tables might just be turned so that they can prove Rivka’s innocence.

This was an exciting and dangerous adventure into paranormal fantasy. Full of action and suspense, not to mention some steamy romance, this book and series should definitely be added to your wish list! Great story, great world building, and great characters. Highly recommended!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

HUNTER AVENGED is certainly a book you can't put down for the simple reason - you have to know who is behind all the danger and intrigue. As a follower of the Forgotten Brotherhood series, you can guess, but to have it confirmed and the way it is done is very, very satisfying.

What a wild and crazy ride this series has been. While you can certainly pick up any book in the series and start there, it is so satisfying to watch this group of broody boys all find their matches.

Sven is the Viking warrior we met in a previous book. He somehow manages to be a loner even after getting his family back. As part of this loner mentality, he offers to try to track down the Forgotten Brotherhood’s “person of interest” in the form of an Angel named Rivka. Rivka has been known all her life as a bit broken or at least not meeting expectation. She accepted her station as a librarian until finally getting a chance to help others in a non-book capacity. Unfortunately for her, she was a cog in a larger revenge-machine. Knowing she needed to avoid the necessary fallout from a dragon/mate situation (read the previous books), she eludes the determined Viking until an unfortunate series of events.

I guess it ends up being fortunate for them both because the recluse and the loner are a match made in… heaven? Does that still apply to the Viking? Either way, they sizzle and pop from the start. This book manages to tantalize *and* tie up loose ends of the overall series. I was very sad to see this world end but happy with all the wonderful stories along the way!

I have wanted Sven's story ever since he appeared in his father's book and boy, did this story NOT disappoint!! Sven has been sent to hunt down the angel believed to be responsible for Forgotten Brotherhood being compromised. And it has taken him months, but he has finally found her. Rivka thought it was her chance to finally do good as an angel when she was given her task. She doesn't understand what went wrong, nor where. What she does know is that not only are there guard's from Heaven after her, but also the Forgotten Brotherhood. And when she is caught, she just might have to trust the man who makes her feel more than she ever thought she could, or even should. Can they find the answers they seek? Or will Rivka pay the price for something she truly didn't have anything to do with?

I absolutely loved this story!!! Sven went through so much while he was in service to Freya. And now that he is not only free but allowed to have a life, it's awesome to see him start to come out of his shell and live the life he always should have been able to live. He and Rivka may be opposites but they actually compliment each other perfectly and I loved them together! I love their connection and interactions but beyond that, I love that they truly understand each other. And want the best thing for each other. This book has lot of action, adventure, and a love to last a lifetime! I loved it all!!!

I haven't read any of this previous series, but found this read really well as a standalone, making me want to read the previous books I had missed in the Forgotten Brotherhood!

Sven is an immortal assassin, who used to be the hunter for Freya until she let him go, and he is the newest member of the Forgotten Brotherhood - he has been tasked in hunting down an angel involved in plot against the Brotherhood, he is eager to get to his prey and prove himself capable as a member of the Brotherhood. But it's taken 6 months to find her.....

Rivka is an angel on the run from everyone and its taking all her powers of cunning and intelligence to keep ahead of the game. Her dream of helping humans on Earth has been shattered, she doesn't know by who or why, but feels she has been set up to take the fall, and wants to prove her innocence. But the Legions of Heaven are after her, able to trace her use of any powers, so she has to move around a lot, trying her best to be very careful, unaware that she has been tracked by Sven to where she works.....

Sven is an immortal Viking and the best at what he does, yet Rivka leaves him feeling things, something he is unused to, and he's not sure what to do about it. For Rivka when she is with Sven she feels more alive than she ever has, but she knows that anything she has with Sven is just temporary, until she is caught and returned to Heaven.

A great read, I thoroughly enjoyed Sven and Rivka's connection and the battle against the Angels, trying their best to find out who was behind the set up. Lots of fight scenes, magic, spells and danger round every corner - not all angels are all goodness and light! Will definitely go back and read the previous books in the series after reading this one.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the Forgotten Brotherhood series and this book was as good as I expected. The action was intense and Sven and Rivka each likable and great together.

Rivka...a flawed angel. Talk about relatable. She's got eyesight problems. She's not "perfect" like her angelic brethren but she's so much more. While dark forces are at play around her, she has no idea why she's being framed and now hunted.

All Sven knows is that all evidence points to Rivka having set up Lucius and Raine and setting their deadly saga into play. He's tracked her across the world and finally closes in. But wait, the angel doesn't appear to be a murderous psychopath. She's also as attractive as can be to him. Soon Sven is questioning his mission, the angel's guilt and trying to keep Rivka safe while solving the mysteries around them.

The two are so good together and sexy. They both have the welfare of the Brotherhood close to their hearts.

There's a twist at the end that I didn't see coming and was rewarding.

Thanks to the author, Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

Wow! I dove into the 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙙 series with book 6 and thoroughly enjoyed it! This series can be read as stand-alone books, but I cannot wait to read the first five books. I really enjoyed Sven and Rivka's story and blossoming relationship. Even though they started as enemies, their attraction sparked off the pages. If you enjoy an action-packed story that also has a good amount of romance, this book is for you. I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this new release!

Sexy, thrilling and a whole lot of fun, I cant get enough of Hunter Avenged and the entire Forgotten Brotherhood series. This one is worth the croissant I burned and the sleepless night I spent reading, all because I didn’t want to put it down.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGallery, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Sven Knutson is a Viking hunter that worked for as an assassin for the goddess Freya for a millennia. After he is released from her service, he joins the Forgotten Brotherhood. The Forgotten Brotherhood is a group of assassins that police the paranormal world. If someone or something paranormal needs killing, they are the ones that do it. They only have a few rules. One is to never betray a fellow assassin & the other is to only kill people that are guilty.

Sven has been tracking an angel for six months. She’s proven to be very resourceful, but Sven always gets his man (or woman in this case). As he follows her around the globe, he starts to wonder if she’s as bad as he is being told.

Rivka was the Keeper of Angelic Records. When she’s offered a chance to leave the celestial realm & go to Earth, she is thrilled. She’s given a chance to help people with the Angel Foundation. What she doesn’t know is that she’s being used by a higher power to find psychic women. When she realizes what the foundation was doing & that the Forgotten Brotherhood is after her, she runs.

I really liked Sven & Rivka, but the book was missing something. I read it quickly, but there was just no depth to this book. It was all very surface oriented to me, if that even makes sense. There was no delving into the past & learning more about these two. It was all very much in the present. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book in the series. There is not another character that I am interested in reading about. It’s been several weeks since I read this book & I honestly don’t remember that much about it.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Rivka and Sven have this odd opposites attract vibe and I totally enjoyed it. I also really like the brotherhood of the brotherhood and their mates. It creates like a found family feeling which I also loved. Both Rivka and Sven are wonderful, so its easy to love them. Rivka has a sort of quiet, understated strength. She is the type to weld a sword in battle, but she is brilliant and fierce all the same. I really need to go back and read the rest of this series!
