An amazing thriller with a twist that I would never have guessed! This is my first book I've ever read by this author I can't wait to read more.
I liked the story well enough. It was a decent read as the author really kept you guessing until the very end (and I liked how I didn't guess) this thriller will win over those who like a quick read that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
This was really good. Well written, with lots of twists and no clues as to who was the culprit. I especially liked the little twist added at the end. It needs proofreading if you got this off netgalley. One thing that grated on me was that they made out that the main character was old and frail and could no longer look after herself on her own, even though she was only 59!
I would definitely read another by this author
I’m on the fence about this one. It’s a good story, even if it has been done before. The author really set up the book to confuse readers. Besides wondering if Hope really who she says she is, we don’t know who we can trust. My opinion chopped and changed throughout, right down to a final twist I didn’t see coming.
I guess what took away from my enjoyment of the book was the execution of the story. It wasn’t as sinister as the blurb led me to believe. The book was a bit too sweet, which probably came from the fact that most of the chapters are the viewpoint of an older, extremely nice woman. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, it’s just not what I was looking for. In addition, I found much of the dialogue to be unrealistic and, to be honest, a bit grating.
A fab twist filled thriller, highly recommended, almost flawlessly put together, a true nail biter. She keeps you guessing.
This is a very tense and gripping thriller. There are plenty of twists. It is fast paced. The story is told from multiple perspectives. The ending was shocking and breathtaking.
*Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review*
A great thriller - I would recommend it!
This was a pretty good domestic thriller with a few twists sprinkled throughout the story. It was a little slow for me, but I'm glad that I kept up with it. I think if you like domestic thrillers, secrets, and a slow burn you will enjoy this title by Karen King.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.
A brilliant book! I requested it for the hook - a secret daughter and a family reunion was an irrestistable scenario.
Karen King delivered in spades. Great twists and very pacy.
So many twists, shocks and surprises. When Mary's long lost daughter turns up the lies start piling up too. Who can she trust? And will her other children ever accept the sister they knew nothing about? Great family drama that kept me guessing to the end. Just one unanswered question (spoiler) What happened to the poor bird?
Such a great read. It had me holding tight onto my seat through the many twists and turns. I didn't know who to believe and the ending is one of the best.
A very gripping and intriguing read. It was also easy to follow, with very interesting characters. I enjoyed that the author kept me guessing up until the very last minute. A fantastic thriller book.
Wow! What a fun read.
The Family Reunion is a slow burn thriller that has that unexpected twist that you never think is possible! For it being a slow burn, I still feel like it was to the point and written really well. There were unlikeable characters (but isn't there always?)
Family secrets? Second chances? A fun read? ABSOLUTELY!!!!
After Mary's husband Paul dies of a brain aneurysm, she decides to find the child she called Hope, that she gave away. Her husband and family knew nothing about this. She now wants to introduce Hope now called Cathy to her family and children Joanne and Jason.
Without giving away this amazing book, let's just say there are plenty of secrets and a surprising ending. I couldn't put this down.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
Lots of twists and turns in this one! I had to take a while to process my thoughts after finishing this book. Overall, a very interesting and compelling read. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of the author's work.
I did like this one, it was just a bit easy to predict the outcome. I’d rather have been shocked, but it was still a good read!
A great page turner
Will have you hooked
You will not want to put it down
And a great ending. Wow
Thanks NetGalley
I thought this was going to be a juicy family drama/reunion but it lacked the thrills and drama for me. I didn't care for the characters, writing or plot itself. I found it hard to read in the sense it didn't keep my interest and took me longer than usual to finish as I struggled to pick it back up.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Really great thriller. Lots of suspense and kept me interested throughout.
