Another fantastic read by Regan.
There are very few long series that I like and can read one after another. But Josie Quinn is definitely one I don’t want to put down.
I love Quinn’s team and how Ms. Regan built them up over the course of this series.
A favorite for sure.
This is the second book that I’ve read from the author. The first book was “The Bones She Buried” and it’s the Detective Josie Quinn, #5. Now this book is the Detective Josie Quinn, #16! Imagine all the books I’ve missed but guess what? I’m still able to understand what’s going on! I’m extremely grateful for it.
I love how the author explains everything for readers who are not able to follow the series in order. There are explanations of what happened to Josie when she was a kid and why she is scared of closed dark space. Then how Luke got his injuries from and what he did that lead to it. Also who is Harris and who are his parents? Everything is explained as if it’s the first time the readers pick Lisa Regan’s book and I’m extremely grateful for filling the gaps for us.
Another thing I appreciate are the informations about police procedures during murder investigations. There are lots of new terms written here for me and everything are explained concisely and accurately. It made everything easy for me to read since I know all the terms they are talking about.
I love how the plot unravel the answers at the end. It’s engrossing and exciting! That’s how I like a good mystery/thriller book.
Overall this is such an exciting read! Even though I was not following the order of the series but I enjoyed this like a standalone mystery/thriller! That’s how good I think this book is!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advance reading copy.
Full review will be posted in my blog soon.
Thank you so much Netgalley and Bookouture for the arc!
I finished this book ages ago and frankly speaking, it is one of my most favourite Josie Quinns. The plot was fire and I love, love, love the execution. Claudia's death made me so sad after the initial chapter! But then the twists kept keeping and I had no idea who's good, who's bad. The conclusion is everybody's messed up in their own ways but some people take it to another level. Oh how my heart ached for Brooke! She isn't completely innocent but I feel so bad when people have to live depending on others. Karma does take notes I guess. I loved Luke's contribution to the story, his lovely dog, those emotional and awkward moments.
I wish I could the review sooner. But then shit hit the fan, my life turned into an angsty k-drama and I couldn't quite manage the time. Highly recommended!
Such a wonderfully written thriller by Lisa Reagan!!! This book will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next!!! I can't wait to read more books from this author!!! Read and enjoy!!!
Perfect TV couple Beau and Claudia Collins looked to have love sorted, until Claudia turns up dead on their wedding anniversary.
Josie and the team investigate, uncovering one secret after another.
They say the spouse is the most likely killer, but is Beau Collins a killer or is it his secrets that are deadly?
It took me a really long time to get into this book. I picked it up and put it down so many times until about chapter 8, then I was hooked until the end.
There was a bit more reference to previous books that I personally enjoy, but the characters were strong and the eventual mystery a little bit twisty.
Another fantastic addition to the Josie Quinn series! Lisa Regan delivers time and time again! As with all her books, this one was gripping from the start. There are never dull moments in her books. She keeps me guessing and on the edge of my seat, flipping the pages and doing my own detective work along with the Denton PD. Did I mention that this is one of my favorite series?
Josie is called to the scene of a grisly murder. The victim is Claudia Collins, a therapist and television personality. Together with her husband, Beau Collins, she hosts a popular television show which focuses on relationships. Claudia and Beau are a picture-perfect couple who on the surface appear to have the perfect marriage and life. On the night she was found murdered, Claudia and Bea where gong to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. It was meant to be a beautiful and romantic evening which they were sharing with their viewers. Unfortunately, their perfectly orchestrated evening ended in tragedy.
As Josie, Noah and company begin to investigate, a blast from their past is also called in to help. Luke, Josie's former fiancé, and his dog are called in to help. As more people in Bea and Claudia's inner circle begin to go missing, the tension mounts and a search for a killer is underway.
Woohoo! This was a twist and secret filled book which did not disappoint! Lisa kept me guessing the entire way. The killer was playing a game and toying with Beau, but why? Plus, there are diary entries, which had me captivated and scratching my head. With all of Regan's books, the tension mounts and Josie (mainly) and Noah get into some scary situations and must catch a killer before someone else dies!
Gripping, tense and action packed. This is my go-to series, and I loved every single page! Can this be read as a stand-alone? Yes, Lisa Regan always gives enough information on characters that new readers will not feel left out. Having said that, this is such an engaging and riveting series, do yourself a favor and begin at book #1.
Another in the Detective Josie Quinn series
Book 16 and still as good as the first
I love this series and can’t wait for the next book
Thanks NetGalley
Josie and her team are on another case. The victim is Claudia Collins, a therapist and tv personality. Her and her husband seem to have a perfect marriage. The night she was found murdered, was their wedding anniversary. As more people from their inner circle begin to go missing, the tension mounts and the search for a killer is underway. This book kept me guessing. Gripping, tense, and action packed. I love this series and I eagerly await more books.
As always this Josie Quinn story is an enjoyable police procedural but I'm starting to wonder if the series is getting a little stale. In the earlier books the underlying secrets and mysteries surrounding Josie's past were as exciting as the main plot but now that she is settled down that subplot is missing. I think a new character with a bit of a past would be just what the series needs.
This book pulled you in and kept me coming back to finish it! Can’t wait to check out more in the series!
Number 16 in the series and it just keeps on getting better. This one can be read as a standalone. I really love the characterisation in Lisas writing.
As always this book was amazing. I can't get enough of Josie and her team. The twists and turns in this book. I was hooked through the whole book. You can never go wrong with Lisa Regan's writing. I highly recommend all her books. Especially this series. I would start with book 1 they are all different cases but Josie's story starts there.
A complex, twisted and exciting read! I highly recommend anything Lisa Regan writes, as she never disappoints.
I was so happy to have another book to read in the Josie Quinn series, and Lisa Regan did not disappoint.
She is a master at weaving storylines and my personal favorite, it is written in a way that isn't obvious who the killer is.
I highly recommend these books, and my personal preference would be to read them in order, however, each story is a standalone with an ending. If read in order, the small character details from Josie and her police coworkers and the small parts of history of the characters are revealed.
If you like police procedurals, this is the series for you!
** I was given a free copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an unbiased review **
An engaging book that keeps you guessing. The story had a well developed plot, interesting characters and twists and turns. Detective Josie Quinn investigates this case with the help of her husband Noah and ex-fiancé Luke. I found the puzzle boxes very intriguing, they made me want to know more about what was happening. Overall, it was a great detective read. This is the first book I read in the series, now I want to go back and read the rest. I highly recommend you read this book. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this. This is one of my favorite thriller series, so I'm always excited to get to read the newest one!
This one fell a little flat for me. Not the normal edge of your seat Josie Quinn experience. But I will continue with the series!
I so love the Josie Quinn series, this book was amazing! I loved the mystery and the storyline was well written! I love seeing Josie and the gang. I would highly recommend this book to everyone!
I can’t believe that this is the sixteenth book in the series featuring Detective Josie Quinn and her team. Beau and Claudia are celebrities well known as a marriage guidance couple. It is their fifteenth wedding anniversary but when Beau arrives late for their meal he finds Claudia dead. Josie and her husband Noah, a fellow officer, are called out to investigate when she realises that she had met Claudia whilst out shopping but she had introduced herself as Claudia White. Straightaway Josie is intrigued, especially when she finds a wooden puzzle box in her hand. The following day they are investigating a second murder as the body of Claudia’s assistant is found also clutching a wooden puzzle box. When Josie and Noah start digging in Beau and Claudia’s past they realise that their life has been built on lies and a shattering discovery is made. This book was full of drama, lies and suspense with surprising twists and turns. This was a good addition to this series and I look forward to the next book.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Josie wins again! Lisa Regan brings to life the brilliant town of Denton, Pennsylvania where tragedy continues to strike and lead Detective Josie is ready to get on the case!
Sixteenth in this series featuring Josie Quinn and her likeable bunch of workmates. Lots of twists and I didn't have a clue who the killer was. A great read..
