I really enjoyed the cultural context and background given in this book. It had appropriate depth and gives very important and useful information about current issues, including dreamers/sonadores and social justice. I am glad to have found this and would put it in my collection.

This book is an informative book about Selena Gomez’s rise to fame. I appreciated the explanations throughout the book about what different roles in Hollywood are. I think those will be informative for younger kids who are interested in the specifics of her career. I did not finish this book after reading about 35% because it read too much like a book report and became redundant. I think kids who are of the age this book is meant for will enjoy it more than I did, especially if they are already a Selena Gomez fan. I’m not sure this book will make someone a fan on its own.
