Isabelle Drake’s life changed forever when her young son Mason disappeared from his bed in the middle of the night. One year later, the case has gone cold but Isabelle has not given up hope and she literally will not rest until she finds Mason. Except for the occasional catnap or blackout when she loses track of time, Isabelle has not slept since Mason disappeared. In hopes of causing a break in the case, Isabelle agrees to give an interview to a true crime podcaster. Isabelle starts to notice inconsistencies in the podcasters story and begins to wonder why he is really interested in the case. His constant questioning combined with Isabelle's severe sleep deprivation start to make her question her memories of the night her son disappeared and who she can trust - including herself. But no matter the cost, Isabelle is determined to find out what really happened to her son.

All the Dangerous Things is Stacy WIllinghams much anticipated follow-up to A Flicker in the Dark. Willingham’s voice is loud and clear in this novel but that story is completely different. This addicting and twisty novel features a dual timeline and unreliable narrator. Family secrets are exposed and the final twist is truly shocking. Willingham weaves a suspenseful tale that the reader will not be able to figure out. Isabelle’s sleep deprivation is critical to the story and the whole novel has a hazy dreamlike quality which made it even more captivating. I don’t have any real criticism for this one but it is not your typical thriller. It has all the suspense but not the excitement. That sounds critical but, I was completely captivated by the suspense and sense of foreboding throughout the story.

I listened to the audio version and thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Karissa Vacker! Her voice was perfect for Isabelle and she uses just the right amount of emotion throughout the novel.

Yikes this would be such an awful real life scenario. I can’t image going through this. Then to have a unsupported husband on top of it, would be the worst.

I know this book is a work of fiction, but I had such a hard time with the unrealistic situations that were happened all around the MC Isabelle’s life.

Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

First let me say that if you are a fan of audiobooks, this one will not disappoint you. The narrator is fabulous! She did such an amazing job at sounding young and innocent for the flashbacks into the main character (isabelle) life. She also did a great job with the male characters and voices. It was clear, and easy to listen to and follow along.

The story itself is very well done. I really did enjoy this story and I believe that even those that read it that are not mothers or parents themselves, they will truly be able to feel the stress, concern, the lack of sleep, the desire for answers and truths.

The story begins with Isabelle Drake. A distraught mother to an 18 month old son that has been missing for just a year. There are no leads, no finger prints, its as if her son has vanished without a trace. Isabelle is determined to find answers whether it be through her past or present. All the while concerned if her sleep walking from a young child has followed her into her adult life and toying with the possibilities that this could entail. Her husband, Ben however after 6 months of the disappearance of their child has seemingly moved out and moved on and is encouraging Isabella to do the same.

After a show at a True Crime convention, Isabelle is on a plane and ironically gets seated next to a young man that runs a true crime podcast. Shes not thrilled by this and brushes him off.. however as the story unfolds more she ends up reaching out to Waylon and they begin an interesting dance to say the least.

All the characters are interesting, questionable, the entire read/listen you are trying to draw conclusions, understand, your searching for answers right along Isabelle and once the truths begin to unravel -- you are in for a wild ride.

The only reason i'm not giving a 5 star review is simply due to the fact that the ending just felt somewhat abrupt. You did get some closure, questions were answered but I seemingly wanted to know a bit more. I cannot really elaborate without providing spoliers so I wont- but all in all, a fantastic read.

Thank you very much Netgalley for the ARC via audiobook - I truly enjoyed it!

This was fabulous!
It's a thriller, so I'm gonna keep this vague.
The characters are well fleshed out, the plot is interesting, the writing is addictive, and the ending is original.
Go read this book!
Much love to NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for my DRC!!!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this one! All the dangerous things was a page turner for me. I was pretty sure that I had guessed the plot twist of this one, but was so glad that I didn’t!

I don’t think I even liked the main character. Many have found the twist to be mind blowing but I didn’t feel it. I really had to push myself through the slow pacing.

I liked the narrator of the audiobook.

Thank you again to Amber with Macmillan Audio for reaching out to me to offer this audiobook ARC. I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down and I had to know what happened to Mason. I appreciated the nods to true crime popculture with the mention of a crimecon like convention and a true crime podcast. I enjoyed every twist and turn. So good!!

I just finished listening to Isabelle Drake and her heartbreaking story. To have your son disappear in the middle of the night is simply inconceivable to me as the mother of three grown young men (there but for the grace of God. . .). The fact that Stacy Willingham wrote this book without having experienced motherhood is quite impressive. Her characterization of Isabelle and her mother were so believable and relatable. The setting in the Georgia marsh lends just the right air of decay and stagnation -- you can feel those humid, summer nights on your skin. I went into this one knowing little about the plot and I want to pay that forward. In this current culture of true crime podcasts and 24-hour news cycles, this is a relevant and compelling read.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

WOW. Stacy Willingham's All the Dangerous Things is a must-read for any mystery/thriller reader. I love a well-written unreliable narrator, and I really enjoyed not only the excellent mystery but also the commentary on motherhood, with its expectations and taboos. An overall amazing read that I highly recommend!

I adored this novel by Stacy Willingham, and I adored the audio narration by Karissa Vacker even more. I was captivated from the first page and finished this in one day. Isabelle's past was seamlessly woven into the present-day story and provided much-needed insight into the main mystery of the novel. I appreciated that connection even more after I finished listening, All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham will be a top read for me this year.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this audio arc in exchange for my honest review!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham. I found myself exclaiming “WHAT?!” in absolute shock at the twists being revealed on more than one occasion. I did not want to stop listening because I could not figure out what the ending could possibly be and I •needed• to know!! This is one thriller that can honestly claim the title of unputdownable.
The transitions between past and present were seamless and added extra tension and anxiety to the storyline. I was equally invested in both time periods.
While I enjoyed Willingham’s debut novel, A Flicker in the Dark, I felt that this was so much better and it is sure to cement her spot on many “must buy author” lists.

I mean yeah, fairly predictable but I read it in one sitting cause I HAD to know how it ended. Definitely better than flicker in the dark and think many will love this one!!

Stacy Willingham brings us another winner. Told in dual timelines, this suspenseful thriller tells the tale of a young woman suffering from insomnia since the abduction of her baby one year earlier. The reader is left to wonder - what is a delusion, and what is the truth? I loved the twists in this book, but it's the relationship between Isabelle and her parents that really sparkles. Themes of postpartum depression, motherhood, and betrayal are all very well done.

Narrator Karissa Vacker is an absolute star, and one of my go to storytellers. This book is highly recommended for lovers of twisty thrillers.

***Book Review***

Title: All the Dangerous Things
Author: Stacy Willingham
Genre: Thriller, Suspense, Mystery
Rating: 5 Stars
Vibe: Missing Child, Family Secrets, Mystery

Quick Synopsis: It has been over a year since Isabelle’s toddler went missing. He was taken from his crib in the middle of the night. She has not had a good night’s rest since. She is determined to figure out what happened to her son even though her husband tells her she needs to get “past it.”

Review:  I literally could not stop reading this book. I felt for Isabelle and could not imagine having a son go missing with no explanation. It pulled the heartstrings of this mama. I NEEDED to know what happened. A few times, I thought I had it figured out, but oh was I wrong. The cliche’ ‘It kept me on the edge of my seat’ definitely fits this novel.

This is @StacyWillingham ’s second novel and I see am a forever fan after reading both of her books.

All The Dangerous Things releases January 10, 2023 and if you love thrillers/mysteries then you have to get this book.

I was very excited to have been chosen to get this book from @MacmillionAudio and the narration was beautifully done.

Well this author has now firmly cemented herself as an auto read for me after impressing me with her debut and her follow up. I’ve been putting together my best of the year lists over the last few days and I noticed that as much as thrillers are my first love, 2022 wasn’t great for me in that genre. Yeah, there were a handful that I really loved but my favorites were romance by a landslide which actually made me a little sad. But all of that rambling to say, when I find a good thriller and I rave about it just know that I’ve gotten pretty picky and I’ve gotten stingier with my thriller ratings so I really mean it when I say SW is a thriller author to get excited about. One of the things that I enjoy most about her books is that she writes the type of thrillers that I truly don’t want to put down. She’s got the whole gripping and addictive thing down and I was invested in this one from start to finish. The suspense was a steady and methodical build up that culminated in a strong ending that satisfied me. Karissa Vacker is such a pro, her narration was outstanding so I highly recommend the audio version of this one, she’s just so incredibly talented. Definitely recommended by me, it was both fun and entertaining as well as twisty and tense.
