I want to start off by saying that I do apologize for a late review. I was given the opportunity to listen to this book. I am so happy that I was approved for this audiobook. I didn’t know much about this book. Just that a mother is sleeping and someone kidnapped her son. I will definitely listening/ reading more book from this author. OMG this audiobook didn’t disappoint me. Hell I thought I was losing my mind trying to figure out what was going to happened next. There were times where honestly I was yelling out loud. This book is amazing. I couldn’t put this audiobook down. I have no negative things to say about this book. The narrator does amazing job. I also love the time jumps in this book. I know there is a word for it. I highly recommend this book.
About Book:
Isabelle has always has issues with her sleeping. Or sometimes sleep walking.. When she wakes up one morning and notices her son isn’t there. She will spend the next 12 months finding out answers. Her husband Ben as left soon after their son had gone. But what is really Ben story. Isabelle is always thinking about the time about her sister and how she has the same dream about her and that night. Isabelle thinks maybe whatever happened to her sister maybe she did something to her son. Definitely have to read this book to find out . This is a crazy book and having you guessing what’s really the story . And whose is really to blame. Thank you to the netgalley and the author for this opportunity. My review is up on goodreads and bookbub and Amazon.
This book started off a bit slow, but the narrator did a nice job of reading with emotion. She read in a way that brought mystery and tension to the story in all of the right places, making me want to keep listening to find out what happened.
I enjoyed this story with its twists and the way it combined multiple aspects of the main character, Isabelle's, life. It told the story of her search for her missing son, Mason, while also telling the story of her childhood, her career aspirations, and her courtship and marriage. It helped the reader get to know how each part of Isabelle's life might have led to Mason's disappearance. I was rooting for Isabelle to find out the truth - even if it meant that she was the one who had unknowingly caused Mason's disappearance.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #McMillanAudio for an audio ARC of #AlltheDangerousThings by #StaceyWillingham and narrated by #KarissaVacker
-4 stars for the story
-4 stars for the narration
I was grateful to receive an advanced audiobook of All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham and it did not disappoint. While slower moving, the story of Isabelle Drake, her loss of her younger sister as a child and, now, her son gone missing will grip you from beginning to end. Izzy hasn't slept in a year and her health, physical and mental, is taking its toll. Izzy is a sleepwalker, she knows this, and has since she was a child, but could she have done something terrible to her son without realizing it?
Izzy invites a young podcaster into her home to interview her regarding her son.. Her hope is in anything that might bring her son home. But is this man who he says he is? What is his ulterior motive?
Just as things begin to come together, they completely fall apart.
A nailbiter of a storyline gripping you at your heart and soul.
Grateful to the Macmillan Audio and the author for the advanced copy.!
Review being posted to Amazon and B&N (awaiting approval) and shared on my bookstagram feed.
So good! Everyone is a suspect as you go through this book. The further in this book you get the more questions you have and the more things you can't but wonder who is telling the truth, who is lying, and who has more to hide. This book was a hell of a ride and I enjoyed it a lot!
I really liked this book! It was very "Bunny Lake is Missing" in terms of what actually happened to the child, and in some parts, is the child even real? (For those of you who are a fan of that kind of psychological aspect I would definitely recommend that book too). I found the narrator very good both in terms of distinguishing between characters but also the time switches of present day and the childhood passages. My only criticism is that there were some parts of the book that were getting repetitive, and it felt like filler. The ending was a little rushed, but overall covered all the bases and explained what happened - if there's one thing I absolutely hate is an open ending which I'm glad to say this was not.
3.5/5 stars rounded up!
Thank you so much for this ARC!!
Another great one by Stacy Willingham. It's every mother's worst nightmare. A child goes missing and is gone for more than a year. What would you do to find your child? What would you do to protect what's yours? Who would you blame?
A page-turner that I found myself having a hard time to put down. I didn't want to stop and then when it was done I found myself wanting more. Wanting to know what would happen next.
I have read both of this author's books, and this one is my favorite out of the two. I did really like A Flicker in the Dark, but I thought that this book was just a bit better.
I don't think this thriller does anything too special or unique, but I love the author's writing style. As an avid thriller reader, it can be hard to surprise me, and even though I wasn't shocked with many of the twists, I did still really enjoy them.
My favorite part was storyline about Isabelle's childhood, and her mother and sister, and how that shaped her into the mother that Isabelle became.
Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC audiobook of “All the Dangerous Things”. I enjoyed the book, but audiobooks on Netgalley can be frustrating to read because they freeze up and you lose your place. I think that’s what happened for me, because sometimes I was confused about the plot. Everyone else seems to be loving this book, and it was good! I just get tired of the same old unreliable protagonist.
Well, if you're looking for a twist or five then LOOK NO FURTHER! I pride myself on being able to figure out the twists before they happen, but Willingham did an amazing job at keeping me on the edge of my seat!
Isabelle is a mother that is grieving hard. One year ago her son Mason was taken from her home and there is little to no evidence to who may have abducted him. Isabelle is doing everything in her power to find a lead(to the annoyance of her local PD) on what happened that night. Told in differing timelines this story will pull you in as you learn more about Isabelle's past.
I actually liked this one more than the lauded “A Flicker in the Dark.” There was more of a darkeness I felt than I felt in the previous book. I had to remove a star for the tropes. The woman who is gaslighted by an obvious ex. C’mon. Are we all just reflections of the men was are dumb enough to believe? No. Take that out and I enjoyed the look at the mother guilt (You ever hear the term “dad guilt?”). and what it means to lose everything, and wonder if your mind is included.
As I loved Stacy Willingham’s debut novel, I was pleased to receive an audio ARC of ‘All the Dangerous Things’ from NetGalley and Macmillan Audio.
I found this book just as gripping as her first one. It really makes you wonder what you’re capable of doing when you’re sleep deprived. The author kept it suspenseful and the narrator Karissa Vacker was amazing.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for accepting my request to read and review All the Dangerous Things.

Oh boy, I have decided book clubs were initiated for books like All the Dangerous Things. Egads -- where's the fun of a review and no spoilers? I enjoyed this from start to finish (Yes, I liked the ending.). I wanted to talk about this.
If the synopsis interests you, the story will creep, freak and keep you thinking. The narration is spot-on; KV you are amazing.
I liked the main character, felt sorry for her, cried and laughed with her. The story is told through her voice.
My review does not do the book justice. I know that, and wish I could convey without spoiling all the scenes I thought were smart, and the things I didn't see coming.
This is 4.5 stars; I will not round up. The author is far too talented, and cleverly writes to fall into the obligatory swearing trap.
Amber Cortes, Publicist | Macmillan Audio -- Thank you so much for this Widget. I was born to read this. I did pick the audiobook up from my public library, the NetGalley audio didn't work for me.
I was a little worried about this book because crimes with kids hurts my mama heart and makes me even more paranoid about my kids. And while this did have a missing child the story is not what I thought it would be at all. In fact I never truly guessed it until I read the ending. It’s was an amazing ride and my only gripe if I can call it that is I felt the ending was a little rushed. I wanted more details. 😂
Karissa Vacker also did an amazing job as narrator and I loved how her voice changed depending on it was the past or present.
This book! It is so good. I could not stop listening! Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves twisty thrillers and red herrings that all seem possible, this is for you!
I really enjoyed A Flicker in The Dark, Stacy Willingham's debut novel, and All The Dangerous Things is even better! A thought provoking page-turner that I didn't want to stop listening to.
A year ago Isabelle's young son Mason was taken from his bedroom in the middle of the night. With no suspects or evidence the case has now gone cold for the police but not for Isabelle. With no sleep, deteriorating health and a failed marriage Isabelle is determined to find out what happened to Mason.
Many unexpected twists and tension-filled moments had me feeling Isabelle's desperation.
The narrator, Karissa Vacker, did a fabulous job!
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
All the Dangerous Things
Stacy Willingham
Every mother's nightmare has happened to Isabelle Drake. One morning after having a very satisfying undisturbed sleep, prolonged relaxing coffee in the kitchen, Isabelle goes to check on her toddler who is sleeping later than usual. She finds his crib empty and the window open. Her life spirals, as you can imagine, after that. Insomnia is relentless and she will not rest until she finds him. Isabelle is interviewed by a true-crime podcaster and is hoping to have her voice heard by someone who may lead her to a clue. However, in the process she remembers some disturbing times in her childhood that makes her question the night her son disappeared.
I was so invested in Isabelle's mental health from the beginning that I believed in her at every twist and turn even though I knew I wasn't supposed to trust her. I quickly realized from her self talk that she wasn't well. But she had been through so much that how could she be? All the Dangerous Things has dual time lines that allows the reader to dig deep into Isabelle's childhood so we can see what has made her into the woman she has become. As we have learned to come to expect from Stacy Willingham she was two steps ahead of the readers and the end was not what I expected at all!
This was a 4 star read for me and I recommend for those who love domestic suspense, dual timelines and unreliable narrators!
Thank you Netgalley and McMillian Audio for the ARC copy of this book
Publish date: January 10, 2023 now available!
Insomnia is awful, making one exhausted, have brain fog, be irritable, and just downright miserable. It's no wonder that Isabelle feels all this and more after her toddler son Mason disappears from his room one night.
Stacy Willingham's psychological thriller had me experiencing all the emotions as I tried to figure out just who took Mason. I was angry, I was frustrated, my heart ached for Isabelle, who, when she did sleep she would sleepwalk. Oh no! Could she have harmed Mason while sleepwalking?
The narration by Karissa Vacker added greatly to this suspenseful and engrossing thriller. Her well done reading pushed this novel past 4.5 to 5 stars!
I'm excited and waiting patiently for the next thriller from Willingham to appear! Well done!
My thanks to #NetGalley and @Macmillan Audio for the pleasure of listening to this arc. This opinion is my own.
A slow start but interesting to see it all unfold. A year of no sleep after her son is kidnapped? Wild. It picked up a lot as the story went on and I couldn’t wait to see how each piece of the puzzle fit in…not the ending I expected either!
I would like to thank NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC of All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham Narrated by Karissa Vacker My opinions are my own.
If you’re a fan of , unlikable character’s and slow-burn thrillers with lots of twists, hang on because you’re in for one heck of a ride with Stacy Willingham’s latest book, release. Told in two timelines Louisiana 1999, and Savannah Georgia Present. The plot centers on soon to be divorced and very sleep deprived mom, Isabelle Drake, who’s 18-month-old son Mason disappeared from his crib in the middle of the night one year ago. With no leads or clues as to what happened to Mason, Isabelle has never given up on finding her son, and is currently being interviewed on a true crime podcast by a mysterious podcaster looking to lay to rest something of his own. I tried to guess whodunnit but gave up as NOTHING is as it appears to be. With mysterious deaths, sleepwalking, a multitude of lies from a trusted person, and a shocking reveal at the end, this was a completely addictive read start to finish.
Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin's Press/ Minotaur, and Stacy Willingham for providing me with a copy of this book! I went in thinking it would be a great telling, that would be predictable based off of the description and my many thriller reads, however, I was very much surprised. This story started out a little slow, but quickly got interesting. There are many plot twists and questions throughout the book that are eventually answered. I was pleasantly surprised by this story and would recommend this book to friends!
