A heartfelt and delicately crafted debut novel about two young women who become entangled in one another and embark on a surprising journey of self-discovery and modern love.

Aisling and Maya’s connection is unexpected. Maya has recently returned to the University of Edinburgh for her second year, confident in her place there and in her first proper relationship with her childhood best friend, Ethan. Finally, she is one of them, those happy couples, self-satisfied in the knowledge that they are one half of something solid.

Aisling is a first-year student from Ireland, ready to leave her controlling family behind. But despite the distance, she still feels claustrophobic, still feels watched. Reeling from her break-up with her ex-girlfriend, she struggles to make friends and finds herself isolated. That is, until Aisling joins the Poetry Society. That’s where she meets Maya, and everything changes.

Moving between Ireland, Scotland, and London, Something About Her is a story about the fragility and transformative power of first love. With vivid insight and tenderness, it exposes the fear, hope, and longing that can consume us, particularly when there’s so much you still don’t know about love, about life, and about yourself.

This book was touching and took me on emotional rollercoaster, for sure. The premise of the book instantly drew me in - a woman who is widowed returns home from vacation to find that someone she knows conned her of her home and things. Hence, her move and the introduction to Chestnut Ridge (her husband had left her a cabin). Although she does not have family, the townspeople quickly become like a family to her, showcasing the importance friendships can play in someone's life.

Natalie has lost everything, After her husband passed away, she was moving forward with gusto. Suddenly, the life she thought she was building was taken away, along with almost everything she owned by a scammer. With no place else to go, she heads to the rustic hunting cabin her husband left her

I loved this story of not giving up, starting over when all seems lost, and finding a new place in the world- I am looking forward to reading more stories set in Chestnut Ridge.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley; all opinions are my own.

eflective, optimistic, and tender!

And Then There Was You is a charming, uplifting tale that takes you into the life of Natalie Maynard, a confused, heartbroken widow who, after falling for a con man that left her confidence shattered, her life in tatters and her money all gone, moves to her late husband’s cabin in the idyllic mountains of Virginia to regroup, start over, and perhaps find some peace, family, and a new place to call home.

The writing is warm and fluid. The characters are kind, attentive, and supportive. And the plot is a sweet, heartfelt blend of life, loss, friendship, grief, introspection, drama, community, tricky situations, romantic gestures, unconditional love, and new beginnings.

Overall, And Then There Was You is a heartwarming, hopeful, captivating tale by Naigle that’s a promising start for this new Chestnut Ridge series and is definitely the perfect choice for anyone who loves endearing characters and small-town charm.

This is a new series and I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read more. I found this to be such a heart warming story and it captivated my attention right from the first page. When Natalie gets conned by a man she is embarrassed and feels like a fool. Which leaves her to make some rash decisions and makes it hard for her to trust anyone.
So much so that she decides to leave town and go to the small town she where she had a little cabin .the small town helped Natalie not to doubt herself and that she is a great person.

I want to express my gratitude to St. Martin's Press and Net Galley for providing me with an advanced reader copy of "And then there was you" by Nancy Naigle. Despite the promising beginning, the novel ultimately fell short of expectations.

The story kicks off with a strong premise as a woman faces a deceitful boyfriend, yet it quickly devolves into a narrative rife with sexist stereotypes. The protagonist, Natalie, consistently makes questionable decisions, relies on men to solve her problems, and is preoccupied with comments about calories. The male lead, a detective, appears more interested in dating Natalie than genuinely solving her case, reinforcing outdated gender norms.

Furthermore, the plot is marred by unexplained holes, particularly regarding Natalie's supposedly deceased husband. Her lack of knowledge about his separate life in Chestnut Ridge and apparent amnesia regarding shared experiences create confusing inconsistencies. The characters' stilted and saccharine dialogue contributes to the narrative's lack of depth, leaving the story feeling stagnant and unconvincing.

Regrettably, "And then there was you" failed to deliver on its initial promise, succumbing to problematic stereotypes and narrative shortcomings. After reaching the halfway point, I found it challenging to continue due to the stagnant dialogue and unresolved plot issues.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. This was a cute little love story. I appreciate that there wasn't much spice and it just focused on the story. Small town feels are my jam so i really enjoyed this one.

Natalie Maynard's life is spiraling out of control since her husband died. Added to that is she has fallen for a man who has conned her out of her money and possessions. Enter detective Randy Fellows who has been assigned to look into the matter. In the process, he knows he has met the woman who he has fallen in love with. She is still grieving her husband and the devastation that she was conned. Her best friend Shelia will always be there for her. A whisper in her head from her husband said to go to the cabin. The people of Chestnut Ridge and the cabin are better than she remembers. She is beginning to believe she has found where she is meant to be. The case is coming to a head and a conversation she over hears, throws her off. Detective Fellows pieces together everything only for Natalie's world to come crashing again. In the end, family can be difficult but so rewarding.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Honestly I’m kind of confused. The couple spent half a day together and he was already confessing his love to her. I felt like this book was missing a major something for me to love it.

I’m a sucker for a book that has a cabin in the woods and make it a cozy romance and it’s a homerun. This book has all that and more!

Natalie was swindled out of everything, after being widowed. SHe determined she had to be strong and move on. Move on she did, to a cabin off the beaten path that her husband left her.. What she wanted was to be alone, what she got was more then she could ever imagine, friends, family, and a secret.

THis was a book that had all the feels. I want to move to Chestnut Ridge, and i can't wait to read bokk number two in the series.

I like the message of hope and the setting of the small town in this story. You have to feel sorry for a woman who falls in love and finds out he was con man! She learns to open her heart to friendship and love. A good read.

This is the first book by this author and I am looking forward to many more. This is a delightful, feel good, clean, contemporary romance novel. It is also the first book in a new series by this author, Nancy Naigle. Set in a fictitious small town called Chestnut Ridge in Virginia, readers will quickly fall under the spell of this close-knit group of inhabitants. After being swindled by a major con, Natalie has to regroup and decide what to do in her life. Luckily, she's strong and independent (almost to a fault), and she decides to relocate to Chestnut Ridge where her late husband had a remote cabin. Here she can find hope again in a new direction. Randy Fellowes, the detective on her case, has motives that become more personal than business, when he falls for Natalie. But he's one of the good guys. In Chestnut Ridge, Natalie finds a group of warm and friendly people with a small-town vibe. Not something I'd like since they were totally involved in her life, but they seemed to be just what she needed to rebuild her trust in people. This book was a good combo of genres. There was the mystery of the con to be solved. Plus there was some romance swirling around between Natalie and Randy (at least on his part). And the small-town people and their issues provided a chick lit feel. There was a sense of Christian romance, but this was not emphasized too much, just enough to remind me that it was there. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book by this new-to-me author. It definitely had an overall warmth and friendliness that permeated the book, with a message of kindness. This is a good beginning to what promises to be a very pleasant and easy-to-read series.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and St. Martin's Press

This was a very bingable book. If you are looking for a light, small-town romance, give this one your consideration. There is zero steam, and it has some Christian romance type elements to it, so if that turns you on or off of books, it's a good thing to know.

My favorite part of this book was the small town, found family element. This is book 1 of a Chestnut Ridge series so I'd love to revisit these characters down the road.

Thank you @smpromance for an advanced copy of this one, out now.

And Then There Was You by Nancy Naigle is exactly the type of book I love to get lost in and find hard to put down. The story is of Natalie Maynard, a widow who finally found love again, but unfortunately to a horrible con man. Randy Fellowes is the detective assigned to her case, and as time goes on he realizes he may be more invested than he first thought. Natalie ends up moving a couple of hours away to a forgotten cabin of her deceased husband's that is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The town is small and full of loving people who soon become like family to Natalie. The story is sweet and kept me coming back to find out what would happen next. I just realized this is the first in a series and I can't wait to read the next installment!
