Amazing!! An excellent read!!
I can’t say enough great things about this book. I loved all of the characters. Coming from a small town where everybody knows everybody, I could really relate to everything going on. I will be looking for more books by this author. .

And Then There Was You is the newest release by Nancy Naigle. This story is the first book in the Chestnut Ridge Series. The story starts with a shocking occurrence. Natalie Maynard, a relatively recent widow, has spent the week in Cancun with her boyfriend. He stepped into her life just when she needed someone attention and comfort. His lifestyle was far more lavish than Natalie was accustomed to and she was enjoying being spoiled.

When she arrives home, a few days after her boyfriend’s early departure for work, she discovers her home, which she paid half for, entirely emptied out; every single piece of furniture, clothing item, and all of her documents. Even the nail holes have been covered and all of the artwork gone. She then learns that her house was rented, not purchased, and her boyfriend has absconded with the money and has vanished.

Detective Randy Fellows is assigned to Natalie’s case. He’s earnest, hard-working and promises to get justice for Natalie and keep her updated along the way. Over time, he also develops feelings for Natalie and slowly, hesitantly a relationship between the two builds. Meanwhile, Natalie escapes to a rugged, remote mountain where her deceased husband owned a hunting cabin and decides to live there while she gets her life back in order. An odd choice, since she was able to live with her best friends, but she needed a change of scenery. She befriends various townspeople, finds some work and unravels some other surprises along the way.

I have loved Nancy Naigle’s previous books, but sadly, this one just missed the mark for me. It started off with my interest peaked, but soon got bogged down in an over-abundance of details that seemed irrelevant. Some elements felt rather far-fetched and unbelievable, and it rubbed me the wrong way how many times the female character referred to counting calories and watching her weight and a man taking care of her. I was bothered that despite the Christian point of view, she went on vacation with her boyfriend and moved on so quickly after her husband’s death. I suppose it could be innocent, and there could be reasons but they weren’t given and it rubbed me the wrong way. Finally, the plot felt predictable and fell flat for me.

I know that I’m in the minority, and that I will definitely return to Ms. Naigle’s future books. Others of hers have been favorites for me, but this one was, unfortunately, a letdown.

Reeling after falling prey to a Romeo con-artist who just waltzed away with the better part of her belongings, Natalie Maynard works closely with the detective assigned to her case, only the few leads have led nowhere.

Detective Randy Fellowes can’t promise Natalie restitution, but he’s determined to find the culprit and serve up justice. Married to his work, he’s caught off guard when Natalie has his thoughts wandering to more than the case.

Natalie soon seeks refuge in the one thing she still owns ― an old fishing cabin in the mountains of Chestnut Ridge. She quickly falls in love with the town and the eccentric people who are teaching her so much about the area and its heritage.

Through these people, and the determination of Detective Fellowes, she rediscovers her courage, self, and a reason to risk love again.

I really loved this story. Natalie is a widow who was taken advantage of by a conman. The detective assigned to her case is a workaholic who might find himself attracted to Natalie. Will recommend to others.

Two years after her husband died, Natalie Maynard has left her grieving behind and is ready to move on with her life. Then she meets Marc, who was sweet to her and was very generous with his gifts. She was totally swept off her feet and fell in love. They even bought a house together. He was a dream come true. They even went on a two week vacation on the beach soaking in the sun and each other. Marc is called away on business and she has to come home alone. Natalie returns home to find that she was conned. The house is emptied out completely and so is her bank account. Marc is missing and does not return any of her calls. She reports everything to the police and an investigator is assigned to her case. Randy Fellowes is the investigator on the case and explains that she fell for a con artist. Thus begins a most interesting account of how she managed to go on with her life and even learn to hold her head up again and start over. She finds new friends who are true friends and ready to help her. She also finds love again.....Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy and here is my review.

Naigle writes such a wholesome and feel-good Christian romance. Delightful in the positive vibes, you will enjoy meeting all the people in Chestnut Ridge. A bit predictable, it's still okay because it affirms that good things do happen to people who deserve it. This is a story affirming second chances, true love, forgiveness of others, and acceptance. "We take care of our own" is great motto, which abounds in Chestnut Ridge. Natalie is a lucky person who finds truly good people in her friends, especially after becoming the latest victim by a Romeo con-artist who stole her home and money left to her following the death of her husband. Can Natalie ever find the heart to forgive, move on, and be able to trust her heart to another man after this? Grab a cup of tea, put your feet up, and enjoy this today.
Many thanks to #netgalley, #nancynaigle, #andthentherewasyou for the opportunity to read and review this book.

It's always nice to find an author that brings romance to an "older" character and Nancy Naigle has done this wonderfully in And Then There Was You.
Natalie Maynard thought she had found a second chance at love as losing the love of her life, but soon finds out the love interest is a con artist who has taken all she owns. All that she has left to live in is an old fishing cabin, a large step down from the lifestyle she was living. With the help of the detective on the case to find the con man, Natalie learns to trust again and that true love a second time is possible.
This was my first Nancy Naigle, though I have another of hers on my TBR. I enjoyed the characters and the chance for healing after two deep hurts and the need for community. I think those who have love and lost will enjoy the hope this novel brings.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but all opinions are my own.

This was the second book I've read by Nancy Naigle. I loved it. It was a sweet romance with a bit of suspense and wonderful characters. I felt for Randy and Natalie's situations. Such heartwarming story. I didn't want to put it down. It left me smiling once I closed the book. A great beginning to a new series. I look forward to the next book!

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this book. This is my voluntary and honest review.

Natalie is mourning the loss of her husband. She was not expecting to meet someone that swept her off her feet. One day she comes home and finds their new home empty. When the police arrive, she is frantic that her boyfriend and her possessions are missing. They tell her that the most likely scenario is that he is a conman, especially since the house she thought they bought together turns out to be a lease. She refuses to believe that and moves in temporarily with her best friend. She works closely with the detective on the case who is determined to catch him. None of the leads seem to work out and Natalie decides to start over in an old fishing cabin owned by her husband. She keeps in touch with the detective who is fighting his feelings that are more than just professional. Natalie is very wary of trusting anyone, but the town welcomes her as the widow of a much-loved community member. The characters have so much depth that kept me interested and I couldn’t put it down. This is one of my favorite new books!

I really liked this story I felt like it was original. I feel like lately so many stories are the same just change the name and location and that was not the case with this story. I love how the author kept it simple with a twist. I loved Natalie while she made a bad choices she had the biggest heart and would not stop at anything to help someone whether she knew them or not. Randy man he was fun character he was skeptical but that came with the job for sure. His sister was also a fun character. I really felt like I was catching up with friends and not reading a fiction story. Overall if you can't tell yet I loved this story and it was worth the read. Also the author kept it clean so it would be suitable for all readers.

And Then There Was You by Nancy Naigle was a surprising story, part romance, part crime fighting, part coming of age. Natalie had been married to Jeremy for 15 years before he died in a car accident. Now she had Marc, a wonderful man who she’d met on an airplane. She was just finishing up their vacation in Cancun; Marc had had to leave early because of a business emergency. He had insisted she stay and pamper herself. How she was getting out of the cab and noticed the front yard had been spruced up. Happily she opened the front door to . . . nothing. There was nothing there. Not a stick of furniture, not an item or clothing or a pan. She called the police, believing she had been robbed. She had bought this house with Marc; she’d paid half, in cash. The neighbor came across the street and mentioned the names of the owners, from whom she believed Natalie and Marc had been renting. From there the biggest nightmare of her life began. Thankfully the police detective was kind. She’s been bilked.

Randy had investigated this crime far longer than he should have. After months of mourning, Natalie realized she still owned the hunting cabin in the mountains that had belonged to Jeremy. There she found her peace. I have never read a book on this topic before. It was heart-breaking. In that sense it was a police procedural, but it was so much more. She discovered much about Jeremy in Chestnut Ridge. She found friends and a life. She liked living in the cabin. Randy was the ideal police detective and the ideal friend. He helped her adjust, taught her to shoot so she could defend herself against bears and wolves, hopefully not people. The town had a secret. She didn’t realize it until it was disclosed, but it made her love it all the more. It was a terrific book, full of interesting characters and a moving plot, several, almost.

And Then There Was You is a touching love story. It is an emotional roller coaster and Natalie Maynard returns home after a trip to Cancun with her new husband. Marc had to leave early and insisted she stay and enjoy the remainder of the trip. She returns home and finds her new house completely empty. This sets off the tale of a con man who takes advantage of women.

Natalie Maynard is a widow but recently married Marc, a man she trusted, which was a huge mistake. Detective Randy Fellowes is drawn to her as he spends time with her during the investigation.

After the shock of it all, Natalie remembers her first husband had a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She decides to go and spend some time there while she waits for the investigation to be resolved, hopefully in her favor. Natalie meets some wonderful people in both Richmond and the small mountain town of Chestnut Ridge. The townsfolks all open their hearts and arms to Natalie as family.

Randy is quietly digging into the investigation for Natalie but calls with updates on the case. He offers to come up to share information, but he has ulterior motives as he hopes she will want to be more than just friends.

Natalie overhears a conversation and believes her new friends are keeping something from her and immediately believes that she is an easy mark that people want to take advantage of her. Randy will do his best to reassure her, but will she be able to let her guard down again to trust those now close to her.

This book follows Natalie in a small town where Detective Randy is on her case and the both have a spark between them. I wouldn’t consider this book a full-on mystery but more of a developing type of story. The writing was very well written though it did lack a bit of romance for me and I’m guessing this book has a Christian style of writing as in clean. I loved the setting and the conflicts in this story. Naigle wrote such wonderful characters and I loved how their characters developed for one another and how much they grew from their pasts. This was a great comfort type of read that was perfect for the summer.

This book was not my cup of tea. It had way too many religious references for me. The book overall wasn't bad. I liked the small town of Chestnut Ridge. It was hard to empathize with Natalie at times because I wouldn't just let he guy get away with what he did. I did like Randy and his sister. This is a sweet romance with major religious overtones and finding yourself despite yourself.

Natalie returns from vacation to find her life upended. Everything she owned was gone, seemingly by a man who she believed she was in a committed loving relationship with. Clearly she couldn’t have been more wrong and is left bereft and broke. She is out for justice and maybe some revenge. After months of working with Detective Fellowes with little to no progress she is frustrated and needs a break. A respite in which to gather herself and figure out the rest of her life. So she heads to the one place/thing she has left in the world. A small cabin in Chestnut Ridge.
It is there she begins to find herself again, get out her her head and start living anew. The thing is, she can’t stop thinking about Detective Fellowes and he can’t stop thinking about her as well. A sweet story to love, HEA, taking control and getting back to living your best life. A sweet hopeful read. It does have more than a hint of religion in the story.

What a con artist to take everything she owns. And all the lost mementos too. Randy is the detective that is assigned the case. Thankfully he is more dedicated than most and doesn't give up. Little by little Natalie starts to get her confidence back. She moves to the hunting cabin her dead husband owned. There is finds a community of friends. A heartwarming ending. Good story

When widow Natalie returns home from vacation to learn that her boyfriend Marc has stolen all her belongings and disappeared, she is left reeling. With no idea how to move forward and all her mementos from her husband gone, she realizes that all she has left is the old hunting lodge that had been in her husband's family for years. So, she heads to Chestnut Ridge, a place she hasn't visited in years, to begin again. But little did she know what awaited her there!

This story explores trust and found family and the importance of having someplace you belong. The characters were delightful and the romance was sweet.

This was my second book of Nancy Naigle's, although the first in this series, and I enjoyed them both! I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Thank you to Nancy Naigle, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance review copy.
