Wonderful!
My 5 star reviews are few, but this book deserves that and more! Despite all the bad that has happened to Natalie, she is still standing strong and moving forward in her life. When she moves to a cabin in Chestnut Ridge in Virginia’s mountains, she’s not sure it will work out, but she’s determined to try. Little by little, she meets the residents, makes friends and starts working again.
When her work leads her down a literal road she didn’t see coming, everything comes clear and she finds peace and that family can come from anywhere. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
Title: And Then There Was You
Author: Nancy Naigle
Genre: Romance
Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Reeling after falling prey to a Romeo con-artist who just waltzed away with the better part of her belongings, Natalie Maynard works closely with the detective assigned to her case, only the few leads have led nowhere.
Detective Randy Fellowes can’t promise Natalie restitution, but he’s determined to find the culprit and serve up justice. Married to his work, he’s caught off guard when Natalie has his thoughts wandering to more than the case.
Natalie soon seeks refuge in the one thing she still owns ― an old fishing cabin in the mountains of Chestnut Ridge. She quickly falls in love with the town and the eccentric people who are teaching her so much about the area and its heritage.
Through these people, and the determination of Detective Fellowes, she rediscovers her courage, self, and a reason to risk love again.
This was such a sweet, enjoyable read! I was as horrified as Natalie when she fell victim to the swindler, but I loved how she took control of her life and made the changes she needed to to put herself back together. Chestnut Ridge was an adorable little town and I loved the quirky characters, especially Paul. I definitely recommend this!

Two years after her husband died, Natalie Maynard fell hard and fast for a new man. Marc was perfect, sweet to her, generous with his gifts, and great at financial planning. They even bought a house together. But after a two week vacation, Natalie returns home to find all of her possessions gone and her boyfriend missing. Randy Fellowes is the investigator on the case and explains that she fell for a con artist. The only thing she still owns is a fishing cabin in a small town where she retreats to lick her wounds. As she starts to learn more and fall in love with the town and its residents, she starts to heal. But the more time she spends with Randy, she starts to fall for him. With everything she's been through, can she trust herself with another man?
This was a sweet heartwarming romance good for lovers of Christian fiction.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
And Then There Was You by Nancy Naigle
Chestnut Ridge #1. Contemporary romance. Inspirational.
Natalie Maynard comes home from vacation to find everything she owned stolen and gone. She thought she had a loving relationship but in fact had been love bombed by a swindler. After working with Detective Randy Fellowes for months with little progress, she moves to a small fishing cottage in Chestnut Ridge. There she reconnects with townspeople and starts to heal.
An explosive beginning leads to a heartbreaking loss, gradual recovery and rebuilding love.
Occasional Christian overtones. It’s a touching and emotional path of fabulous friends, healing, and found family.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley.
Natalie’s first romantic relationship after the death of her husband turns out to be nothing but a lie which has impacted her both financially and emotionally, but it does bring Randy, the detective investigating the situation, into her life. After this experience she remembers her husband owned a cabin in Chestnut Ridge, so she decides that this is the perfect place for her to regroup.
Randy is drawn to Natalie and wants to help her through this difficult time in her life. Even though her case has more questions than answers he isn’t about to give up on getting or justice or showing her that she can find love again if she is willing to open her heart to the possibilities.
I really enjoyed all the residents of Chestnut Ridge as they embraced her and helped her heal along with the love and support of Randy. This is a heartwarming story about love, friends and new beginnings.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.
This was my first book by this author but won't be my last. This is a Christian romance with some mystery and suspense. Natalie is a widow who is taken in by a "Romeo" and loses everything...Through this traumatic event she meets Randy, a detective. This is a tale of learning to trust, finding yourself, being open to love again, and giving forgiveness. The book was a little predictable but was still an enjoyable read with a nice cast of characters and a sweet romance.
Heartwarming book with wonderful characters and scenery - a strong 4.5 stars. The descriptive writing captures the imagination and paints vivid pictures of the settings. I was especially intrigued by the "Fairy Stones" and had to see if they were real - fascinating part of the book that added so much depth and richness to this sweet story. A few things were a bit of a stretch but as they say sometimes truth is stranger than fiction so maybe not that far off! I very much appreciate receiving an ARC from the publisher, NetGalley, and the author - all comments are my own. I can't wait to read her next book!
What a wonderful read! This book hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It has wonderful characters and is full of drama and emotions. This is a book you don't want to miss.

I adored this one! I love a good, summertime, small-town romance.
This book follows Natalie Maynard, who discovers that a man she had trusted had conned her out of her home and belongings. She hires detective Randy, who is drawn to the case. However, its not just the case that he appears to be drawn to. Work-focused Randy finds his that Natalie is occupying his thoughts with more than just the case.
This book was full of wonderful surprises and wraps up with a great ending. The setting and emotions were captivating and I cant wait to read more by the author.
I received an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed this story. Great characters in an interesting setting with a mystery to unravel. I couldn't put it down!
I love Nancy Naigle books and was excited to see this first book in a new series. The plot line of a young widow being fleeced out of just about everything by a scam artist and having to rebuild is right out of the headlines. When she is assigned to a good looking and empathetic police investigator, she doesn't realize that he will be key to her being on the path of rebuilding her life.
When she moves to a small town to live in a vacation cabin owned by her husband, her life begins to settle into her new normal. I enjoy books set in a small town with all its quirks and the whole theme of a hardnosed cop falling for a seeming damsel in distress who actually has some toughness in her. Then of course, there is the whole will she get her revenge plotline.
A nice pleasant read that leaves you satisfied when you read the last words.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy.
This novel was heartwarming. The characters are likable.
Synopsis: A widow is conned by a slippery rake who romances her for months before fleecing her of almost everything she owns. The widow goes to the police and asks for help. The detective helping the widow falls in love with her. Suddenly homeless, her best friend offers her a place to stay. While staying with her best friend, she picks up Jeremy's Mustang that was in storage. She remembers that Jeremy would go on hunting trips to Blue Ridge mountains and they stayed in the hunting cabin. She decides to live at the cabin while the detective is investigating the con artist.
While living in the hunting cabin, she meets neighbors who always offer a helping hand. It felt like the community was idyllic. I could see this story on Hallmark Channel Movies.
Highly recommended for fans of Hallmark movies.

⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐ Book Review
Nancy Naigle is known to whip up small-town love stories with a whole lot of heart. “And Then There Was You” falls nothing short of this expectation. Natalie Maynard finds herself starting completely over after a con-artist takes everything, down to her very last dime. Detective Randy Fellowes promises to do everything in his power to provide Natalie with justice. In the meantime Natalie takes up residence in her deceased husband's fishing cabin in Chestnut Ridge.
And Then There Was You is a story of discovering one's courage and self-worth. Naigle’s writing is matter of fact and down to earth. She allows her readers to feel as if they are on the adventure with her characters. Every character in this novel played a role. The secondary characters were sincere and helped Natalie through her troubles in so many ways. I'm a sucker for a good romance with a little mix of mystery. This one sucked me in in so many ways. I will not hesitate to recommend his novel to a friend. And I can’t wait to see what is next for this series.
And Then There Was You by Nancy Naigle is an emotionally charged and poignant literary masterpiece. This captivating book is filled with unexpected twists and turns that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.
Naigle's storytelling prowess shines through as she skillfully weaves a tale that tugs at the heartstrings. The book's conclusion is nothing short of extraordinary, leaving readers with a profound sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Natalie Maynard was on top of the world, until she came home from vacation to an empty house. Empty of all of her life's possessions and her boyfriend was nowhere to be found.
With the help of the detective, Randy Fellowes, she determines she's been swindled by her boyfriend. As they work together to try to follow the trail of her now ex-boyfriend, Natalie tries to put her life together.
After a short stay with her best friend, Natalie goes to Chestnut Ridge to stay in her late husband's mountain cabin. As Natalie starts over, she uncovers family secrets, makes friends, and finds a new purpose in life. But Randy keeps popping up with updates, and Natalie helps with any information she can uncover, and they become friends.
The people in town take her in like family--because she is, in a sense. She becomes a part of the community and learns to appreciate her new life after losing everything else. As the pieces of the puzzle finally come together, there's one part of Natalie left uncertain--her heart.
Detective Fellowes, Randy, is a good man, and the feelings are there, but is she willing to risk her heart, and is he willing to change the comfort of the simple life he's been living for years?
A beautiful story of finding oneself, love, and starting over in the beautiful setting of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Received an ARC from Netgalley
This was a good book, but it took me a while to get into it. Natalie comes home from a vacation with her boyfriend to realize that her house was emptied out and he was a con man. Randy is the cop who gets her case and he never gives up on solving the case. Once the shock has worn off Natalie realizes that her husband had a cabin and she could stay there and make a new life. Randy understands but fears his chance with her is over.
Her new home has some secrets and she is upset for a short time when all the secrets are revealed. I liked how determined Randy was and how Natalie grew stronger after being conned. The secrets that were revealed weren’t that shocking, but changed her life again. Randy was patient and kind and I liked how he helped her and supported her at the same time. Whether he solves the case remains to be seen and whether she gives him a true chance was what kept me reading.
I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
This is the second book that I have read by Nancy Naigle (first being, The Wedding Ranch) and I really enjoyed it. I did think this was part of a series with that book so I had to go back and check. This book is the first of her new Chestnut Ridge Series. I look forward to reading more from this series!
What a shocker coming back from a wonderful vacation to find everything gone! It is terrible knowing that cons like this happen everyday not only in this book but in real life too. While I did feel for her I thought that Natalie was a little over the top naive when she found out that it happened to her.
I did feel that the relationship with Randy and Natalie was a little cheesy & rushed. I would have personally loved Natalie finding love with Tucker. I absolutely love the townspeople (there were a few that I felt were unnecessary ) and how they took her in like family. I don’t doubt her love for her husband at all but I feel like there was just SO much she didn’t know about him/the town. I loved Paul & Orene!

Natalie thought she was ready to move on after the death of her husband, when she fell for her boyfriend. What she had no way of knowing was the fact he wasn't who he said he was. She comes home from vacation to find her house has been emptied and all she has is what is in her suitcase. She's lucky to have the support of a good friend and a dedicated detective who is determined to find the guy responsible. She decides to start over in her husband's fishing cabin tucked away in a secluded area. She's grown accustomed to checking in with the detective on the case to see if there's been any leads and he too, has gotten used to hearing from her. There's an attraction between them but needless to say she's reluctant to trust and he's been married to his job forever and hasn't had a relationship for longer than he can remember. He wants to see where this could go and ensure that she's safe in her new environment. Natalie meets some interesting people that knew her husband well, which adds to her comfort and feelings about his cabin being the right place to start over. There's some depth to who the people are she meets and not everything is as it appears on the surface. Great easy read about trusting and starting over. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Mystery, small towns, family created by your choice?
All my favorite things in one story. It’s emotional and sweet. I also love when the main characters life is completely turned upside down in every way and then to see them rebuild and become so much more than before!
Can’t wait to return to Chestnut Ridge!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review.
What a great start to a new series! The characters are dynamic and so believable that I cried for Natalie and how the con artist fooled her. When she went to Chestnut Ridge to try to recover from all of her losses including her self-esteem and confidence, she meets some of the best people ever. Those characters who befriended and accepted her made the story for me. The community and acceptance that they showed Natalie was nothing short of amazing! Detective Randy Fellowes was a stalwart champion, the man determined to find the con man and help Natalie get at least part of her former life back. I think my favorite character was Natalie because of her courage and steadfast willingness to risk her future if necessary in order to restore her sense of self-worth. There were a few unexpected twists in the story that made me gasp with surprise as well as cheer silently for the way they added to the story. This is a wonderful story of resilience and finding your place in life after devastating losses.
