Great read, fast paced and easy to follow story even if you haven’t read the entire series. No cliffhangers but resolutions were very quick at the end. First read of author’s work but will not be the last.

The Shadow Girls was my first time reading this series. It has great characters and is well written. It is a story that boils down to good and evil.

This is the fourth book the Detective Natalie Lockhart series. "Trace of Evil" was the first book in this series and "The Wicked Hour" the second..
I also read "A Breath After Drowning" and thought is was great!!! SO was looking forward to another story by Alice Blanchard.

This story begins with Natalie’s friend, mentor, and boss Lieutenant Luke Pittman in the hospital in a coma after he was found injured at the bottom of a ravine- beaten and left for dead. It appears his injuries are the result of Peter Murphy a colleague.

Natalie is destressed about Luke and is hoping for his recovery. She certainly misses his help as she is trying to solve a bizarre string of homicides that have and are occurring in Burning Lake.

Veronica Manes, Burning Lake’s most respected modern-day witch, is dead, her murder left unsolved
Natalie’s friend Bella Strive is missing. Sixty-four year old Randolph Homes a long time employee at Murray’s Halloween Costumes is found murdered by strangulation.
Also another Natalie makes a discovery about her missing friend Bella Striver.
Additionally she has some concerns about her relationship with Hunter Rose. Hunter is funny, charming, and generous and wants two things: First to marry Natalie and Second for her to quit her job.

Luke is back on the job and his relationship with Rainie and now engagements leaves Natalie in a confused state. She has known Luke since they were pre-teens. She always thought there would be plenty of time to figure out if their relationship was more than friendship but now she is pretending to be happy for Luke and Rainie. Hmmm Stay tune fir more!!!

Wow!! Alice Blanchard has once again knocked it out of the park with her latest novel The Shadow Girls. This is the forth installment in the Natalie Lockhart series and if you haven’t already, I highly recommend you dive into this MUST READ series!!!!! In true Alice Blanchard fashion, the storyline was extremely well developed and perfectly paced- I was on the edge of my seat the entire way through! The twists and turns have their own twists and turns and just when you think you have it all figured out…you’re wrong! Detective Natalie Lockhart is one of my top favorite book characters and I really, really want this fantastic series to never end! The Shadow Girls is a 5+ star read that will not disappoint!

Book that engrossed you in some parts.
I didn’t see the twist{s} coming.

The Shadow Girls is book 3 in the Natalie Lockhart series by Alice Blanchard.
I enjoyed book three as much as I did the last two.
I found this to be a gripping read and I like the character of Natalie Lockhart very much.
Blanchard’s writing is absolutely compelling and the suspense is gripping.
It moved at a pace that kept you involved with characters who are well developed
An unputdownable crime thriller series that was so intriguing, sucked me in right away, and kept me engaged throughout.
This book did not disappoint.

Fast paced and full of gritty and dark corners and twist. Breakneck speed flipping pages to find out what is happening In this town. A great read with wonderful characters. Heart stopping at times! A plus for suspense and terror

4.25/5 stars! I didn't realize that this book was part of a series, but it worked well as a standalone. This book was non-stop action and I couldn't put it down. The description of the settings was masterful and I found myself clenching my jaw for Natalie at some of the most epic portions. I really appreciated that this book felt like the completion of the story, rather than leaving a cliff-hanger for us to suffer from.

I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is the 4th in the Natalie Lockhart Series. This series needs to be read from book 1 to really understand what is going on with the characters and the plot. I have really enjoyed this series and couldn’t wait to read this latest addition. Blanchard has a great way of pulling you into her stories. Great suspense, love Natalie and Luke plus the stories themselves. Lieutenant Luke Pittman is in a coma after being attacked by another officer, Veronica Manes a witch has been murdered and Natalie who was going to quit her job becomes embroiled into the investigation and decides to stay on until she can solve it. Natalie is struggling with Veronica’s murder, Luke in a coma, her sister’s suicide and her best friend's disappearance plus whether or not to leave with her boyfriend, Hunter. Pick up this book and find out what happens to Natalie and can she solve this mystery and does she have her happy ever after.
