A beautifully written Xmas novel. I really enjoyed reading this and I look forward tobthe next read.

Christmas at The Little Knitting Box is a story set in a close-knit community and is as cozy comfort read .

I loved the shop, and the author did a great job describing the setting, you can almost picture yourself in it.

This is an overall feel-good romance with a great mix of characters, a strong focus on family and a festive feel to it.

I honestly thought it was going to be a ‘cheesy’ read, but I really surprised myself and enjoyed it immensely.

Cleo and Dylan couldn’t have been more suited, and I’m so glad it turned out to be a happy ending.

If you are looking for a book to completely lose yourself in and get the festive feeling, then this could be just the book. This book totally pulled me in from the start & had me completely hooked. Love, loss, complicated family dynamics & a touch of romance, all lead to a perfect cosy feel good read.

Loved it. Super sweet and easy to read. Lovely characters and a happy ending. Marvellous! I haven't found a romance book this pacey in a while, great book.

This was a nice Christmas book to read, there is a nice romance story throughout but it really didn't hold my attention as much as I expected it to, which was a shame

I read this book as part of the Boldwood Books read-along.
Set in a knitting shop in New York, we meet Cleo who has relocated from England to run the shop for her grandpa Joe. We follow her story as she meets Dylan and battles to save the shop from closure.
This was a nice easy festive read.

Set in New York this delightfully sweet read kept me hooked.

Cleo owns the little knitting box and is chronically single!
Dylan is a newly divorced, single dad who's ex wife is a conniving plotter! ( euphemism 😉) who is trying to get him back!

When Cleo suddenly gets a letter to say that the her wool shop is in is being sold she has no idea what she's going to do.

With some secrets, a healed relationship, a lovely grandpa, becoming family, some plot twists, two adorable kids, some really awesome side characters and some chemistry between the main characters. There isn't spice in this novel, but the sweet story was plenty engaging. Being a creative person I loved the knitting and wool side story.

I read this as part of the Boldwood Books read-along but unfortunately lost my reading mojo as well as being busy over Christmas so it took me a little longer to read than it should have.

I am a big knitting fan so this was the perfect Christmassy read. Set in a knitting shop in New York, where Cleo has moved from England to run for her Grandpa Joe (yes I thought of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory every time I read his name!). The business had been started by Cleo’s Grandma many years ago, but it is being forced to close as the little row of shops has been sold by the landlord. Who just happens to be the possible new man in her life! Awkward.

Both Cleo and her possible new man Dylan are recently divorced but can they move on from their pasts? Will Cleo move back to England to run her Auntie and Uncle’s knitting shop now they are retiring?

A joyous read, and I look forward to book 2.

There's a strong Hallmark vibe and I'm a fan of Hallmark Christmas stories. It's compelling, sweet, and entertaining.

A charming Christmas romance set in New York based around Cleo and her shop, The Little Knitting Box.
I really liked all of the characters and enjoyed the multi-generational relationships that Cleo had with friends and family members. Although some problems appear for Cleo, she deals with them in a mature and sensible way which is refreshing. She doesn’t just jump to a conclusion or fly of the handle, she calmly considers next steps etc.
The setting of the knitting shop in West Village is the perfect cosy Christmas environment allowing the magic of Christmas to be shown in the buying of gifts by customers and the rapport and friendship built with regular customers and workshop attendees.
The perfect cosy, easy festive read. I’ll definitely be looking for the next in the New York Ever After series.

My Opinion

Anyone that has followed me for a while will know that I enjoy knitting and Christmas so this book called to me from the second I saw the title. It was such a lovely festive book. Helen Rolfe is an author that I stumbled upon a few years ago and every book I have read so far I have enjoyed - I went into this with high hopes and it delivered.

This is a must read book of the Christmas season. A heart-warming, cosy read ideal for curling up with.

New York, Christmas & knitting a definite cosy fix.

Second chance love a business in peril and family repaired I really enjoyed this festive romance, even tho it was entirely predictable it stayed on the right side of entertaining and had a deeper message about the seriousness of depression and the last impact of suicide.

I loved this story that focused on the little knitting shop. Pretty much any little retail shop or bakery story is an automatic 'sign me up' read!

The two MC's in this story have a lot going on in their lives and we aren't sure if they are going to find there way to each other or not. But don't worry, there is a happy ending at the end of this lovely story.

I wasn't too sure what to expect with the title of this book. Because it is a boldwood book, I assumed it was set in England, perhaps in a sleepy little town with a group of elderly knitters, but it actually was set in NYC and featured characters in their early thirties! Proves you can't judge a book by its title haha. Christmas at the Little Knitting Box is about a woman named Cleo who is trying to keep her late Grandmother's beloved small knitting shop in business even though the shop's lease is up and the end of her time there might be running low. Through friends, she meets a single dad and instantly feels the attraction, but when he tells her about his ex-wife and her desire to get the family back together, Cleo isn't sure this is the right person to get involved with, and to add to the situation, he is actually the original owner of the building her store is located in and is the root cause of her stresses about the business.

I liked the premise and enjoyed the story, but I did find there was quite a bit of back and forth when it comes to the main characters. Should we date? No. Should we date? Maybe. Should we date? Better not. I wanted them to make a decision lol. It's also a slight pet peeve, but I think the author should have just set the story in England. Cleo was born in England so some of the classic British colloquialisms made sense (ex. mum vs mom, film vs movie), but I did find there were phrases used by the American characters that are pretty uncommon in American English but quite common in British or even Canadian English. Again, just a weird pet peeve! Overall it was a good book, it wasn't my favourite, but definitely fun and festive this time of year!

This was such a gorgeous christmassy story, it really got me in the festive mood!
I love knitting so the fact that it was set in a knitting shop was an instant draw, it painted such a cosy homely picture.
I loved the characters of Cleo and Dylan, both had struggles to overcome separately but were drawn to each other completely.
Cleos mental struggles were very well written, her fears shared sensitively and helped us to understand her character a little more.
The story covered love, loss, family, business, depression and friendship alongside knitting and Christmas scenes. It was heart warming and special.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was such a different theme concentrating on knitting and wool that I really became engrossed with the storyline and characters.

Highly recommended.

Helen Rolfe wrote this delightful book. I haven't read much by this author but I'm anxious to read more.

There just might be a chance of a Happily ever after amongst the skeins of yarn.

This was like reading a Hallmark movie! I could clearly picture the Little Knitting Box and would love to visit it. I don't knit, but I crochet and was itching to start more projects and really wish it was possible to visit a place just like The Little Knitting Box especially if it was run by someone as lovely as Cleo. The descriptions of the Christmas markets and various streets full of Christmas decorations all came alive brilliantly.
Although this story is about a shop and its future it is even more about Cleo and her relationships, both with family members (good and bad relationships), friends like Violet and her new assistant in the shop and of course her love interest Dylan. The sparks were immediate, but are they too different or is Cleo too scared and what of? Romance and troubles of the heart and an abundance of Christmas.
I loved it!

Will Cleo and Dylan find true love this Christmas? A fab romantic festive read to feast on this Christmas. A simple but pleasurable storyline with relatable and loveable characters. I had all the feels with this great story I was cheering for Cleo and Dylan and the settings are as stunning as the cover of the book. If you're after a fun read to get you in the festive spirit then this is it.
