Gemma Peters leads a pretty low key life since distancing herself from her famous father…and her fame mongering musician ex. Instead, she prefers spending her time focused on her work- and hanging with her loyal Labrador, Rex and best friend, Lila.

Then one day, Gemma meets a handsome stranger at a coffee shop. Only said stranger seems to already know Gemma by name-and know a lot about her. While part of her is creeped out, Gemma also can’t help but feel a certain sense of deja vu when she’s around Jack. Jack knows why, but is burdened with the task of convincing Gemma of the truth. Now it’s up to him to test his theory to stop history, otherwise history is doomed to, quite literally, repeat itself.

The Deja Glitch is the latest in the “let’s do the time warp again” trend. A mashup of 50 First Dates meets See You Yesterday, this is a cute rom com, even if it’s hard to make a story about relieving the same day feel fresh and new. Gemma’s relationship with her estranged father adds an undercurrent to the necessity of getting things right, the scarcity of getting a second chance being something we can all relate to.

I am a sucker for a time loop. The Déjà Glitch adds comedy and romance to the trope and Holly James does it well. It's a fast and entertaining read, perfect for vacation or just a lazy day.

I loved this book. Jack continues to wake up in the same day for months on end. Gemma doesn’t even realize she’s been living the same day. Can Jack make her fall in love in 24 hours to stop a repeat of the next day?

Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy

The Deja Glitch is such a cute love story. I am a sucker for a time loop so combining that with a sweet romance is ideal. Gemma and Jack’s connection reads as very organic and authentic. I recommend this book if you need a break from the world and want to feel good.

Gemma is making a name for herself in the music scene in LA. AND she is doing it without the help of her famous, estranged father. However, she is struggling with the break up from her ex-boyfriend. He used her to get to her dad. So, when she literally crashes into Jack, she feels an immediate connection. And then she feels the déjà vu. What is actually happening here?

These two characters are in a time warp. This regular Thursday has played on repeat for them for months. Now, Jack has a plan to get it to stop. He just needs Gemma to get on board. That turns into a pretty tough task.

Now, this story is just a bit out there. But the characters are so dang cute. I adored Gemma and Jack. It does get a bit repetitive because the day repeats over and over. However, they learn something new about each other on every turn of the clock.

3.5 rounded up.

I am truly a sucker for any timeloop romance and I loved the author's debut so to say I've been eagerly anticipating this book would be a GROSS understatement!!

While I loved the first half which sets us up to root for Gemma figuring out Jack is the one she's meant to be with. I found the second half fell a little flat. It was still good on audio narrated by Kristen DiMercurio and Dan Bittner.

If you love star crossed lovers stories, timeloops or dual POVs, definitely pick this one up! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!!

In a Groundhog Day - esque turn of event, Jack has lived the same day over, and over, and over. The only thing that's ever different is Gemma. Gemma is off men for a while because her snake of an ex soured the dating scene - he only wanted her for her father's musical clout. Gemma is finding it hard to believe that Jack ISN'T a stalker, but he seems to know things he couldn't unless he truly was reliving the day. Plus, Gemma's gut is screaming at her to trust him, and she keeps getting flashes of them interacting. Jack has a theory about why all of this is happening, and the solution is simple: make Gemma fall in love with him.

My Library owns a copy of Holly James' first novel Nothing But the Truth and now also owns a copy of Deja Glitch. I'm very excited to recommend these books through readers' advisory!

From the first page until the last, I was utterly charmed by Jack and Gemma and their *insane* meet cute (I’m thinking this is what you call it when the person you meet in a coffee shop tells you they’ve been reliving the same day with you over and over again for months). I loved their dynamic and how they pushed and prodded each other to deal with major issues that were holding them back in life.

I found Gemma a little stubborn and somewhat childish, irritating but I loved the dedication of Jack! He was adorable from the beginning. And he’s screenwriter, too. Of course he’s perfect!

Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me. I love a wibbly wobbly timey wimey plot, but this Groundhog Day-esque tale was ultimately boring. I didn’t find the FL very likeable and the ML was barely more than a cardboard cut out. Also this is a quibble but I don’t believe they were able to drive that much around LA in a day with the traffic not even counting waiting for rideshares lol? I think this would have been helped with some alternating chapters. Maybe his point of view, either in the present or even snapshots from previous days he remembered.

What a fun and charming book this was! Gemma is having just another run of the mill day when she runs into, literally, an extremely attractive man at her coffee shop. Life as she knew it, at least since she woke up that morning, changed, when this stranger Jack goes on to try and convince her that while she doesn't know it, Gemma has been stuck in a time loop for the past 147 days. The only thing that could potentially get her out of his groundhog day situation is one that seems impossible- she must fall in love with him during the day.

This was my first "time loop" troupe romance book, and I absolutely loved it! Does it seem unreasonable for two people to fall in love in less than 24 hour? Of course. But that's the beauty of novels, things that are far fetched can become true! I found it charming and just a fun read. Gemma and Jack's relationship felt very real to me. I loved all the twists and turns that all culminated at the end of the day, and the ending felt just serendipitous to me. I would highly recommend for a cute summer read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this cute book. All opinions within this review are my own.

DNF - read about 60% and called it quits.

Gemma finds herself stuck in a time loop with Jack (who has been stuck for months) and seems to be the only way to help Jack (and now Gemma) get out.

Truthfully I don't care for Groundhog Day stories but I thought this was a novel concept. However, the voice just wasn't super strong for me and I wasn't interested in the subplot of Gemma's relationship with her father or her career issues. There also wasn't enough time with Jack in the early part of the story. This very much felt like a story that was happening to Gemma, instead of her being an active participant in it, and I didn't care enough (or believe enough) to keep going. I also found in hard to buy into the idea that Gemma could fall in love with Jack in one day, but perhaps the author was able to pull it all together in the last third of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm tossing up on whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. Overall I really enjoyed this book and found Holly James' writing style to be very engaging. However, I felt like there was an element of predictability with this that could not be avoided. And I think that brought on a sense of restlessness in me, as the author didn't really do much in the way of making this unique.

Either way, it was still a really enjoyable read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted, fun and uplifting book. I really liked our MCs and loved to see the growth and development of both the characters.

I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with an ARC through NetGalley. As always, my opinions are entirely my own.

Gemma Peters isn't up for meeting guys since she's come out of a messy break-up. Her musician boyfriend used her to get close to her music producer dad and then dumped her. So when she meets Jack at her friend's birthday party she's cautiously optimistic since he seems really great, and gives her the best kiss of her life. The next morning when she crashes into a stranger in a coffee shop and her favourite white shirt is ruined she gets the strong sense that he knows her, or maybe she knows him? But she can't remember. Jack has been stuck in a time loop for months and remembers every encounter with Gemma. And finally Gemma's sense of deja vu gives him the opening he needs to tell her that he might know how to end this cycle... she just has to fall in love with him in 24 hours.

The story is sweet, and fun. Gemma is a great character determined to make it as a radio host without her family name or dad's influence. She's got a great best friend, Lila, who really does have her back but also tells it like it is. Her issues with her dad were handled well, and I found myself rooting for them to bridge their differences. As the story went on she gained some confidence, stood up for herself, righted some wrongs, and I loved that. Beyond that, my biggest problem was pacing. The story moved way too slowly for a 24 hour timeline. There were chapters where I felt the urgency of what the characters were trying to do and chapters where nothing of significance happened to move the story forward. Overall it had some great moments which made for an enjoyable read.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Gemma meets a wonderful stranger during her friends birthday outting at a bar and he leaves the night saying "just please try to remember me." The rest of the story unfolds in a Groundhog Day fashion with a twist and a fun read start to finish.

Omg okay I am SQUEALING! I loooved Nothing But the Truth soooo much (and genuinely might be the only one who did???) so I was stoked for Holly’s next book and I was not disappointed.

This is a Groundhog Day-esq story but really we are only in one day. So those who dislike that trope can feel better about diving into this one!

Gemma receives an earth shattering kiss from a stranger she meets at a bar. And when she ~literally~ runs into him the next day at a coffee shop, she wonders why he seems so familiar. Has she met him before? Why does he know who she is??

Jack has been living the same day for MONTHS and he believes Gemma is the key to break his curse of consistently repeating the day over and over again. He’s also the most perfect human on the planet and omg all the swooning I did over this man I cannot.

This book is not a five star read, there were some repetitive things (not in a groundhog way but more of an it-needs-editing way) and it was largely predictable and sometimes cheesy but honestly when I squeal & swoon & tab a lot & overall enjoy my time then it gets all the stars. An auto buy author for me at this point no doubt!!

I'm a huge fan of time loop stories in general and think the plot really lended itself well to this love story. I also loved the choice to tell the story through Gemma's perspective really added such a great twist that really kept me fully engaged and made this a story like I hadn't seen before. It also leaves you BEGGING Gemma to remember. Both Gemma and Jack are so charming and authentic that you genuinely can't help but root for them. Fresh, fun, and swoon worthy.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.

This is not my first time-loop, "Groundhog Day" scenario, but this book still felt fresh and was utterly fun! Jack (the ultimate book boyfriend!) is the one who realizes he is living the same Thursday over and over again. And for 5 months he has literally been running into Gemma (and falling in love!) but she can't remember him. That is, until he kisses her, and things start to change...

This book was smart, and so sweet! I loved not only the romance and blossoming relationship between Jack and Gemma, but the friendship between Gemma and Lila (ultimate book best friend!) I would love Lila to get her own book! She was a riot and a great bestie.

This book just made me happy!

5 stars

The premise of The Deja Glitch is not wholly original, but its execution does stray from the normal repeat-every-day-until-the-MCs-figure-out-how-to-get-out-of-the-loop trope. For one, the entire story takes place in one day. Readers don't get to see any of the 147 other iterations Jack, our male MC, has been through in his attempts to get Gemma to fall in love with him in order to break out of the time loop. I was disappointed by this aspect. Usually, when a book says that characters are stuck in a repeat of the same day, we get to see several different versions. However, in TDG we only see one, which took away from the sci-fi aspect, in my opinion. Also, because we readers didn't get to see the previous hundred-plus iterations, I didn't feel that Jack and Gemma's relationship was all that deep. Of course, Jack had nearly 5 months to fall in love, but for Gemma it was a single day, and I don't really think that there was much depth to their romance. I did like most of the side characters, like Lila and Nigel Black, but there were quite a lot of irritating characters too (ex-boyfriend Nick and the father). Overall, this was a nice, easy read, with a plot that's simple and relatively straightforward.

Jemma and Jack are stuck in a time loop. Jack has known this for a while but needs to jolt the loop with Gemma's help to get them to the next day. A fast paced and fun read.

This book was so adorable. I loved the family drama, relationship drama and time loop. The main character took awhile for me to like, I felt very lukewarm about her, but by the end she grew up SO much. I adored her love interest. There were some deep parts, some funny parts and some extreme happiness. It was just an overall charming rom-com.

Jack has been living the same 24 hours over and over again for months. All he needs is for Gemma to fall in love with him to break the spell. Gemma is recovering from a nasty breakup, has major daddy issues and a distrust for most men. So when she crashes into Jack one morning, she wonders if fate is involved. When Gemma learns that they have met over and over again, however she can't remember him, she honestly does not know what to think. Will Gemma remember him and fall in love before the day ends?

Thank you netgalley for my advanced reader copy.
