First time to read a time loop story. I enjoy reading the book and love the inta love between the two MC's.
It is my first time reading a book by the author and I enjoy her writing.

I love the way this time warp book chose to how to escape the. time warp: both characters had to find themselves and heal themselves before they could attempt to correct the time warp. The character growth was really well executed, and you felt such a warmth from the side and main characters.

I didn’t hate this book but the Groundhog Day loop trope is definitely better in a shorter and more visual format. It was cute, mostly lighthearted, with a couple emotional moments. The characters have some pretty typical familial trauma they're working through as well as past relationships. Because the book only covers a single iteration of the looped day, it just felt a bit like a slog - a lot happened in the 24 hours within the allotted pages.

It just fell flat for me.

This book has the vibe of a very cliche romantic comedy. There're airport chases and backstage passes to concerts, stuff that only happens in a fictional setting. I'm not complaining, though. Holly James did a great job of constructing an adorable story and also compelling characters to root for!

I didn't think I would be a fan of love-at-first-sight tropes, they're always a bit ridiculous. But this book made it ridiculous in a very lovable way (not sure if that made sense). The characters had more depth to them than I thought they would, and it was fulfilling watching them overcome their obstacles.

Not sure how I feel about it all technically taking place within a day. Maybe I'm just not a fan of a short time span in books, it feels like so much is happening it's just kinda chaotic.

Also, there were a lot of long sentences that could've used periods instead of commas. It feels a little tiring reading a sentence that's basically a paragraph.

But other than that, I loved it. It's a light-hearted romance to read over the weekend and I'm glad I got to read it!

This a sweet take on Groundhog Day. Gemma has déjà vu when she bumps into Jack at a coffee shop, but she’s not sure what to think when he tells her that he’s been living the same day over and over. Gemma decides to give Jack a chance and in trying to end the time loop, they find that they were both stuck.
The beginning was a little slow and the epilogue wasn’t necessary, but it was an overall enjoyable read.

I loved this book so much coz time loops are one of my favorite troops and the writer delivered it beautifully.
There is so much passion in the story and magic I was completely immersed and enjoyed every min of it.

This time loop romance takes place in the span of a day and is a wild ride of emotions.

Jack was so sweet. This was a "he falls first" situation and it was adorable. I loved getting little snippets of him as Gemma learned and remembered things about him. I also loved the moments where he noted that he was telling her something for the first time, that he hadn't told her in the loop of days.

I loved all the messages about moving forward and not being stuck. This was both a literal and symbolic message for Gemma and Jack. Jack had worked through a lot of his issues by the time we reached this day, but seeing Gemma work through everything was really nice. And how Jack and Gemma leaned on each other and realized they could handle life easier together was so sweet.

This plot was well woven together. There were lots of little things brought up throughout the book and the day to help Gemma move forward with her life. And it was well paced. I'm sure this was a hard romance to pace out since it all happens in a day, but I thought it was a good balance of not having insta love, but also giving the reader little crumbs of romance and conflict.

Also, as a random point, I loved that this took place in LA and we got some fun celebrity and celebrity-adjacent characters. I'm always a fan of that. Plus, it tied in well with Gemma's problems that she was working on and the grand gesture.

I think I was missing a little bit of personality from Jack? Or maybe it was the fact that all of his cards were laid out on the table almost from the beginning. Something was missing from his end that brought this book down a star.

Overall, if you like time loop romances, you'll enjoy this one! It was sweet, a fun adventure, and the right pace of romance in a day.

This was a fun, fast summer read. It was sweet, predictable, and over-the-top in the way only rom-coms and grand gestures can be. The family dynamics were a good deeper tie in and Lila was the best wild friend.

4.5 out of 5 stars!

Time loops can be really tricky because it can be repetitive in book form, trying to follow someone's routine over and over, but this one was actually done really well because it avoids all of that!

Jack and Gemma's "insta love" was actually a really believable connection, and insta-love normally makes me want to roll my eyes, so it's a testament to how enjoyable this book is!

My one concern is that the relationship with Gemma's family members felt quickly wrapped up, and yet underdeveloped at the same time. For instance, I felt like her relationship with her mom was barely shown, and when it was discussed it was just about how strong/great her mom was, but then her mom was barely featured.

I absolutely loved Lila and think everyone needs a best friend like her. She was so unselfish when the "influencer" stereotype can often be written as the opposite.

I really recommend this one!

So, this is the story of Gemma Peters and Jack Lincoln. They are stuck in a time loop of sorts. It's been 147 days and only Jack knows that it has been. He keeps living the same day over and over and needs to find a way to get out of this, and he thinks he needs Gemma to fall in love with him to make that happen.

I really enjoyed this book, would have liked it even more if I hadn't just read another book with a time loop, of sorts, right before opening this one. That did a disservice to The Deja Glitch.

I am not normally a fan of a Los Angeles setting, so weird to say, but this absolutely worked in this book. In every way. It was really well incorporated into the book, almost another character, and was really beneficial into the overall story.

The idea of this story was super intriguing - I love a good stuck in a time loop trope. This book, however, was just okay. It wasn't bad...but it wasn't my favorite. I had a really hard time getting invested in the story and/or any of the characters. The writing felt very wordy, and there were sections where it felt redundant or unnecessary - like the multiple pages at the end of the book where we recap every. single. thing. that the characters have been through.

Gemma did not impress me; I wrote in my notes that she felt overly dramatic, and was WAY too attached to her brother. I understand that she feels like she had to raise him, but both her parents are still alive and involved. He's a grown-up who can make grown-up decisions. As the oldest (and someone who has lost a younger sibling), I get being concerned, but it was a bit much. I also thought she held onto the grudge with her Dad for WAY too long, especially when a lot of her anger stemmed from something that wasn't even accurate.

Jack was okay; the way he fell in love with Gemma and tried to remind her of what had happened was sweet, but he came on a little strong. I understand the reason behind it...still a little strong. It was also weird that the entire book we are reading from Gemma's perspective, then we randomly switch to Jack's perspective for exactly one chapter at the end of the book before switching back to Gemma.

This book wasn't a "hard" read - but it wasn't an easy read either, simply for the fact that I wasn't invested. It was just...okay.

The Deja Glitch was such a good read. I'm not usually one who reaches for an insta-love story, but Holly James knows how to do insta-love in the best way! I loved the way that Holly James was able to make our characters (Gemma and Jack) face the things that put them in their ruts, Jack and Gemma's jobs, Gemma's family drama, and Gemma's ex. I loved that we still got to learn a lot about the characters in the one day we saw them living. I was instantly in love with Jack, he was so charming and was already so gone for Gemma (I mean who wouldn't be after pining for her for 5 months). It took me a minute to really fall in love with Gemma's character, but watching her grow and change her experiences from the previous Thursday's that her and Jack lived, I was really in love with her. I loved reading about them falling in love and sticking next to each other for the whole day, I really loved that they we're encouraging each other to go outside their comfort zone (not just to try and break the loop, but to become a better, more confident person). This was such an enjoyable book and have now added Holly James to my auto-buy author list !!

Holy SHIT this book is SO GOOD. I finished it in ONE DAY!!

I am obsessed with time loop romances and this one stole my heart. I loved the fact that the story was told from Gemma’s perspective but it was Jack who was the one that was stuck. Having him try to convince her that they have met before, and that she is his key to getting out was a unexpected twist that I really really loved in this book.

This book is also filled with lots of fun pop culture references to Groundhog Day and Friends (the pivot scene will forever be iconic.) But I think my favorite part of this book was the relationships: Gemma and Jack, Gemma and Lila, and Gemma and her family. These felt like the heart of the story and had me speeding through to see where they end up.

A magical and romantic book! A forever recommend 💜

This was such a fun read! I adored both Gemma and Jack. Jack’s determination to win Gemma over was swoonworthy. I loved the adventure they both went on in this romance novel featuring a timeloop.

I got 15% in and barely anything interesting had happened, but there WERE plenty of descriptions of the main character's morning routine. What her apartment gym looked like. How a coffee shop works in minute detail. Every step she took and exactly how she took her wallet out of her purse. ETC. ETC. ETC. So much unnecessary detail and we barely got through 2 hours of a day she's supposed to repeat over and over. The MC (I can't even remember her name and I read this yesterday) was also extremely bland. I can't waste my time on what I think is ultimately going to be a disappointing read.

I loved how we had both experiences, Jack's awareness and attempt to get out of the loop and Gemma's gradual figuring out that she's stuck. It read a lot like a day in the life with the added layer of the Groundhog Day. I appreciated that we didn't have to read a new day over and over again, rather heard stories about all the other days.

Unfortunately I think this author just isn’t for me. I liked her first book enough to give this one a shot, but it just didn’t hold my attention. Time loops are a hard trope.

I've learned in the last year alone that I think that the time loop trope is my favorite trope.
