DNF'd around 45% or so. I just had trouble getting into this one. I wanted to like it so bad but I could not. The premise sounded cute but it fell flat for me. Maybe I will try it again at a later time, but for now I could not get into it.
Thank you NetGalley, Holly James and Dutton for the e-ARC.
I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I've read a few time loop books and this one is my favorite so far. I really enjoyed the fact that we got the main point of view from the person who wasn't experiencing the time loop. You didn't have to start the loop with them and then have to read about them trying to figure everything out. I liked that you were dropped into it immediately. I also enjoyed the side plots and they actually felt like they were fully completed. They weren't just slightly finished and then brushed off to the side for the main plot.
I also really enjoyed all of the characters, especially the main male character and the best friend.
I love that time loop stories have become really popular in the last few years. I’ve always found it to be a fun trope.
The story starts out with Gemma at a bar celebrating her best friend’s birthday. She winds up meeting Jack and sharing a sweet kiss with him. The next day resets and she bumps into Jack. He tells her how they’ve met before many many times. Obviously she thinks he’s a little crazy but she faintly remembers their time from the night before. It all unravels from there over the span of a day, and boy was it fun and romantic. You couldn’t help but root for Gemma to fall in love with him.
Thanks as always to NetGalley for the ARC.
This book had a very fascinating concept. The leading man having to repeat the same day over and over again and no when remembering anything but him. I couldn't help but to love Jack. He was so kind and patient with Gemma and he seemed to be so positive even though he was stuck. I can't imagine how hard it was for him, loving Gemma and her not knowing him at the beginning of each day. I have this book 3.5 stars for a couple of reasons. I felt like the book was a little slow at times. I also would've liked a little more angst and some spice, but overall a cute romance.
Have you ever had déjà vu?
I used to get it a lot as a kid. Or I would dream, and then it felt like I lived the dream. It was the weirdest feeling ever! I haven’t had it for a long time though.
Gemma is muddling along just fine, she’s making a name for herself in the LA music biz, she’s got an amazing best friend, and she has an adorable dog. But something isn’t quite right. Ever since her ex-boyfriend used her to get a record deal from her music legend dad, she has enacted a no-dating rule. When she crashes into Jack one fateful morning, she feels like she’s done this before. She just can’t shake the déjà vu feeling every time she looks at him. Then Jack tells her that she has done this before, in fact shes met him everyday for 5 months. Gemma is completely oblivious, but Jack is insistent and persistent. Will he finally get her to recognize him this time…or are they destined to do this loop for infinity.
I was looking for a delightfully wholesome and fun romance and that is exactly what I found with this one. Even though this story has been told before, the author told it i
n a new way. I enjoyed how the story took place over the course of one day. The growth that Gemma and Jack went through was great. While it did seem like a lot happened for one day, I related because I too have had days where so much happens it doesn’t seem real. The only downside to this one, is that it was utterly and completely predictable – but it worked and I’m okay with that every so often.
I really enjoyed this one and I hope you check it out August 1st.
Thank you to the publisher Penguin Group – Dutton, @duttonbooks, and Netgalley, @netgalley, for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Absolutely loved this!! So fun, fuzzy and heart-warming! The time-loop setting really gives a special touch to this romcom and I loooooooved how Gemma processed this whole thing and grew close to Jack, again and again.
If you are looking for your next feel-good romance novel I urge you to pre-order this one! Worth every minute reading it!
Thank you so much for the Publisher for providing an early earc!
Imagine going through your normal morning routine, grabbing a coffee at your local stop, smashing into a random guy, and spilling coffee everywhere. As if coffee ruining your favorite shirt wasn’t enough to ruin the day, imagine having the random guy tell you he’s stuck in a time loop and has lived this exact moment 147 times. (Gemma is going to need more coffee to process this.)
I thought this was such a cute and adorable read! Sometimes time loop books can get receptive but I didn’t get that feeling with The Deja Glitch! Also have the main character being not the person in the time loop was a nice touch! I loved Jack’s determination throughout the book and how he truly tried to help Gemma out. This is more than a love story. It’s a story about family, friendships, taking risks, and being honest.
If you’re searching for your next easy read that will give you that warm, fuzzy feeling I recommend picking this one up!
Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for sending me an ARC of The Déjà Glitch in exchange for an honest review.
Gemma crashes into Jack and has this feeling of deja vu though she doesn't remember having ever met him. The day happens and restarts over and over again with each day Jack tries to convince her that they’re stuck in a time loop and it will end when they fall in love.
This was a cute rom com! Haven't read too many time loops, but this was definitely a cute one. Characters were likable, it was a quick read and was not too repetitive considering its a time loop trope, and would definitely recommend!
Gemma and Jack are stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over again. It's like Groundhog Day, but with more love and personal growth. They have to fall in love in just one day to break the loop.
— Jack Lincoln is stuck in a time loop, reliving the same Thursday and constantly bumping into Gemma Peters. Despite ruining her shirt, he desperately tries to get her to notice him and spend time with him.
— Gemma is confused by the handsome and sincere-looking man, wondering if he's crazy when he claims they've met before. She can't recall ever meeting him. The situation leaves her feeling unsure and disoriented, wondering if there is more to the situation than what she can remember.
Highly recommended! Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for providing me with an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for the opportunity to read and share my thoughts on this book.

Be sure to get your copy when it's released. ;)
This book was cute and short. I enjoyed the concept as it reminded me of the groundhogs day movie. The ending was mid.
I really enjoyed the concept of this story and the writing was very fluid but by the halfway point, I felt like really nothing had happened, which made it hard to become invested in the romance.
I can easily say that this was a fun, little cute and romantic read for me, i just love time-loop stories so much which is why i was so excited that i got accepted for an arc. This book obviously reminded me of groundhog day plus happy death day (without the killer on the loose ofc 😭) so I already knew i was going to enjoy it.
Quick summary: Main female lead, Gemma Peters is getting hit with major deja vu throughout her entire morning and suddenly crashes into Jack Lincoln, the man she doesn’t remember ever meeting but he sure knows her; They’ve repeated the same day 147 times and each day, she has no memory of him or life’s events but he does and he has to convince her that they’re stuck in a time loop and the only way to get out is if she falls in love with him by the end of the day…simple.
I enjoyed myself a lot with this book. It’s a quick read, not very repetitive in terms of what usually happens in time-loop stories, the main characters are both equally likable and cute together (i was giggling too much), the side characters (especially Gemma’s best friend Lila) really add to the fun of the story, and the story works to get you out of a book slump. Trust I will be the first to buy the physical copy when it comes out in August
Thank you to Netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
The Deja Glitch is a breezy romance following Gemma and Jack over a very long 36 hours as Jack does everything he can to bust the two of them out of a time loop he's been reliving for months. Instead of having her protagonists relive their day over and over again, James introduces them at the very tail end—which I both enjoyed as a fresh take on time loops and felt discouraged by as a way to not really explore the fundamental nature of time loops (a la a recent fave, See You Yesterday ). While I did enjoy watching Gemma and Jack fall in love in real time, I also liked how prominent Gemma's other relationships were in the novel, including with her ride-or-die best friend, her brother, and the troubled one she has with her father. Jack is a fairly well-developed character as well with his own narrative arc and dramatic plot points.
Unfortunately, though, I think that this was an above average romance novel that could only have been boosted had James leaned into her own premise, perhaps giving us even a few more iterations of the time loop or intervening chapters from Jack's perspective as the time loop progressed.
This book was such a cute and romantic read!

The story follows Gemma, a 32 year old woman living in North Hollywood. She goes out on the town to celebrate her best friend, Lila’s birthday where she meets Jack. Gemma feels a strong connection to Jack for reasons unbeknown to her.
After waking up the next morning she goes about her day with weird coincidences leading her to believe she is experiencing massive déjà vu. As her day continues, she keeps running into Jack where he tells Gemma that they have been living the same day for almost 5 months.
I loved this book wholeheartedly.
I think when you meet someone who significantly alters your life for the better you find the strength within yourself to choose the best outcome for your future and your partner’s best interest too. This was the case with Gemma and Jack.
I could feel their push and pull to help each other, which ultimately helps each other in the long run.
I also want to note that everyone needs a best friend like Lila. She was absolutely adorable throughout the entire novel and even went as far as to go back to check on Gemma’s dog, Rex, ON HER OWN BIRTHDAY just so Gemma and Jack could have a night for themselves.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
I received this book through NetGalley, and I enjoyed it. The Deja Glitch was so much fun and was unlike the usual contemporary romance I am used to picking up. I loved Jack and thought his character was so sweet and refreshing. The time loop written by James worked so nicely and was such a page-turner! I look forward to reading more from Holly James.
The Deja Glitch by Holly James is a totally fun romcom.
Starring Gemma in her accidental meet-cute with Jack as they literally collide and coffee goes flying everywhere. They get stuck in a 24-hour time loop, which Jack quickly figures out. By the time loop repeats for the 147th time, Jack has a theory to break it— Gemma must meet and fall in love with him in one day…. But can she conquer the walls she built after her last boyfriend, musician Nick uses her to get to her dad, a famous music producer?
Gemma is a fun character who helps produce a radio show in LA and has a loyal and supportive influencer best friend Lila. Jack is a writer for a successful TV show.
Their story is fun and really made me root for them. I also enjoyed the peek into Hollywood. I wholeheartedly recommend this light and fun romcom.
Thank you to the author, Penguin Group Dutton, and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my opinion.
After absolutely loving Nothing But the Truth, this was a letdown for me. I couldn't get invested in the characters, and while I don't usually have a problem with time loops, I found myself annoyed with the way this one worked. I certainly am not writing off Holly James forever, but I hope her next book is more like her debut.
This book is delightful. The time loop setup is so fun, and I love the dynamic between Gemma and Jack, with Jack remembering their entire history and Gemma working through everything over the course of the day. The subplot with Gemma and her father is super compelling, and Gemma’s best friend Lila is a treat. I laughed, I swooned, I was bummed when the book ended and the day was over — unlike Gemma and Jack, I’m sure.
I liked this one!
Groundhog Day with some romance? Say less.
Some thought it was cheesy but I enjoyed that aspect. It’s a cute, easy read rom com. Gemma and Jack were super cute, although I had to knock down a star for the forced relationship between Gemma and her dad. I’m a firm believer in not having to HAVE a relationship with family just because they are your family.
Thank you, NetGalley!
I always looooove a good time loop story. Groundhog Day but, make it romantic? Yes, please.
Gemma did frustrate me sometimes as she tended to have childish moments but, Jack was always right there chasing her love. I tended to have to grow into my love of Gemma where Jack I was a fan of from the very beginning.
