I received this ARC from NetGalley. It started out really cute but it fell kind of flat for me. I DNF’d it at 50%… :( it was kind of making me in a reading slump… I don’t think this book is bad it just wasn’t for me. I think some people would love this…

Okay, I wasn't sure the whole "time glitch" element was going to be for me but I loved this book.

Gemma wakes up on an ordinary Thursday morning feeling with a weird feeling of deja vu. She literally runs into an adorable guy at the coffee shop -- and sense of familiarity grows. Turns out he has been living the same day for 147 consecutive days and he thinks the only way to break the cycle is to get Gemma to fall for him throughout the course of the day.

I can see how Jack made Gemma fall in love with him in a single day because girl, same. These two go through a roller coaster of a day trying to fix the mistakes of the past and manipulate the future. Both realize they were in a personal rut of unhappiness and wanting more out of life but not really pursuing anything different -- something they definitely change over the course of this roller coaster day. From rock star interventions to viral confessions to crabby TSA agents, this book had everything and it all was an utter delight.

Holly James solidified herself as an auto buy author for me with this one. To be fair, I am a sucker for anything with this specific trope. But this one is so well done- & I’ve read a ton!

I will admit up front that I am not a fan of time-loops, but I decided to give this one a try and I am glad I did. It was a little slow to start but I was soon hooked and satisfied with the ending. A few themes are intertwined with a good side-story. Overall, a really cute and sweet romance that left me smiling.

This was a cute rom-com. Overall I enjoyed it, though at times I found myself skimming through parts because it seemed like some of the details didn’t add value to my enjoyment of the story.
I loved the concept of the time loop and finding a way out of through falling in love. I enjoyed the characters, especially the friendship between Gemma and Lila as well as Gemma’s relationship with her brother. I would have loved more insight from Jack. The relationship between Jack and Gemma was believable but was missing a bit of a spark, in my opinion.
Definitely a fun read and one I would recommend to fans of rom-com. This was my first Holly James book, and I’ll definitely check out others by this author.

This book had a very cool concept, but ultimately, I felt that there was too much going on. I find it very hard to believe that everything that happened took place in 12 hours. Beyond that, falling in love in one day—even if you have subconsciously been dating this guy for months—seems super unrealistic to me. I mean, I believe in fate but this seems a little extreme. I did like the characters, however, and the story was easy to read.

A delightful romantic comedy with a Groundhog Day vibe. Gemma and Jack have been in a 147 day time loop, reliving the same day over and over again. But only Jack knows that this is the case, and he must get Gemma to fall in love with him to break the loop. But how do you get a stranger to fall in love with you in one day? Gemma and Jack are both multi-layered characters that learn a lot about themselves throughout the course of the day. This was a sweet romantic comedy and I recommend it.

Thank you @NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.
I've always thought the idea of Groundhog Day and having to relive a day over and over until you get it "right" was really interesting, so when I saw the summary of this book, I was really interested in reading it. The book focuses on Jack and Gemma - Jack being the character that remembers each day they are reliving and has a theory on how to finally end this Groundhog Day.
<spoiler> I was a little disappointed though that the book only really covers one day of Jack testing his theory with Gemma to move on to tomorrow. There are several references to events that have happened on previous "days," and I understand why having each day in the book could be boring and take too long, but I wish there had been a little more. </spoiler>
I loved Jack and Gemma throughout the story. I would definitely have many of the same reactions as Gemma if this had happened to me and found her to be very relatable. And Jack was interesting as a MMC who just kept on coming back when Gemma needed him most. His optimism in the whole situation is commendable.

Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Group Dutton for allowing me to read and review this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you enjoy reading the "Groundhog Day" trope with a 50 First Dates twist, I think you'll have fun with The Deja Glitch. I really like time loop stories and this one was no different but it also wasn't different enough to hold my attention for long periods of time. The trope has been used for many rom-com books and sometimes the books and their stories tend to blend together. I did like The Deja Glitch, it's short, sweet, and an enjoyable enough to finish but if you've read them all then you kind of know how the story will go.

3.5 stars

I'm not against ground hog days in a romance, but for me this felt a little boring and left me stuck for a bit. I found myself having to skim the book to finish it . It needed a little more comedic relief i personally think to keep me wanting to read in one sitting.

This book was a joy to read! While the first half was a bit slow, the characters are wonderfully written and created. They all are flawed from the start, but they grow in these areas throughout the book. Our supporting characters especially follow this path. I loved the friendship between Lila and Gemma and would love to see Lila be given more of her own storylines in a sequel!

A different take on a time loop and Groundhog Day! She is living a life stuck in her rut. She gets up, goes to work, comes home to her elderly dog and is asleep by 11. She doesn’t realize that she is living the same day over and over until this man who seems familiar starts a conversation with her. He KNOWS he has been living the same day over and is trying to get her to remember him. He goes out of his way to pop up in her life. This time loop HEA is the cutest rom com I have read in a while and I loved every minute of it.

This is so cute, almost reminds me of 50 first dates because he's trying to get the main character to fall in love with him all over again day after day. It did drag just a tad at the end which is why I only gave it 4 stars, but it definitely sucked me in from the beginning and kept me going back to it. I would recommend this to friends most definitely. I enjoyed it and would for sure read more from this author in the future. Thanks for the advance copy!

This was a cute book. It was a rom com version of groundhog day. I love all the characters and the premise of the book. It was a unique read with the time loop concept. Would definitely recommend.

I rated the Deja Glitch 4 stars, probably more specifically 3.5/3.75. I really enjoyed the beginning, it was so fun reading from Gemma's POV of someone OUTSIDE the time loop, Jack trying to explain it to her and the discussion after the coffee shop were my favorite parts. I also enjoyed the middle of the book, but once we reached towards the end I felt the book start to lag and become a bit too cliche. Also, the roof ending when they just recapped the book felt very unnecessary, the book itself is only 330ish pages anyway. Other than that, I enjoyed this fun adventure.

I love a good time loop story! And they even referred to the movie Groundhog Day so that was a great little throwback.
I just loved Jack 🥰 he was so patient and persistent that it made me want to shake Gemma every time she walked away from him 🤦🏼‍♀️
I highly recommend this for if you’re in a reading slump or need a happy pick me up after something heavy or sad 📖 📚

Note: I received a free ARC of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback.

This was my first read from Holly James, but I'm a sucker for a contemporary rom-com with a cartoon cover. Typically, I'm wary of time-loops; they can get repetitive and predictive. This one was very different.

Essentially, everything takes place in one day. We learn about all of our characters, see and solve their biggest problems, and have a happy ending all at once, without having to relive each day until they get it right. While I worry that a time-loop could get boring, I do feel like I missed out on seeing characters learn and build from their mistakes.

While one-try approach made the time-loop more interesting, it also made me miss out on Gemma and Jack actually falling in love. We were just told they had formed this 3 1/2 month relationship, but didn't get to see it happen. I usually love the slow gratification of a goofy rom-com, so this story did get rid of my favorite part.

That being said, this was a pleasant, light read, and it made me want to move back to L.A. expeditiously!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an ARC of the Deja Glitch by Holly James.

This is a time loop trope which I am somewhat typically wary of but this one was different. Rather than "groundhog " day style which frustrates me thid one takes place over 24 hours.

I really loved the characters. Obviously Jack and Gemma but also her bestie Lila

Gemma I found to be slightly irritating at points but obviously understand why! Jack though was completely adorable!

Solid 3 stars.

"Maybe he's the man of your dreams, and you just don't know it yet."

Gemma and Jack are stuck in a 24-hour time loop, and Jack is the only one that remembers the previous day and the only way to break the time loop is for Jack to get Gemma to fall in love with him in 24 hours.. easy, right?!

This book is told from Gemmas perspective, which was really fun. I was expecting the opposite!

I absolutely loved ALL the characters in this book. Jack is my new book boyfriend, and I'm not sharing 😉.

I have to admit, I don't think I've EVER read a time loop story! I was expecting a repetitive nature but not this one. Holly Jackson did a great job keeping the story fresh and captivating. The Deja Glitch comes out August 1st!

8/10 Once again, the time loop angle hooked me. The Déjà Glitch is the story of Jack, an actor stuck in a time loop with no idea how he got there. His only idea of how to possibly escape is to make radio producer Gemma Peters fall in love with him, as she seems to be the only reliable constant in his repetition.

It took me a little bit to adjust to the book, for some reason I expected it to be more about how they constantly cross paths (Groundhogs Day style) whereas the book takes place over the course of 24 hours. But once I did I really enjoyed this fresh perspective of a time loop storyline.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dutton for the ARC!
