James wrote a very successful novel! I haven’t read anything like this before. This is a very sweet, easy to read rom-com. I enjoyed how James made Gemma a very realistic character in that she didn’t just go along with everything that Jack said. Gemma questioned it and didn’t believe him; she needed to be convinced. I also enjoyed that the entire book happened in one day, that it wasn’t the same day we kept reading over and over. There was also more to this book than just the relationship between Jack and Gemma. James wrote beautiful relationships between Gemma and Lila, and Gemma and her brother, Patrick, as well as a troubled relationship between Gemma and her father. What it all boils down to is that James wrote a very well rounded, developed character. In my experience, this doesn’t happen too often. This is a must read for any rom-com reader!
GUYS! This was so precious. I loved the main characters, the side characters, the setting, the mood… every single piece! I was concerned that it would get repetitive because of the Groundhog Day plot but the author did a fantastic job of keeping the ball rolling.
The main characters are cute and I was rooting for them immediately. Jack has my heart 100%. Add this to your TBR!

This one was kind of like ground hog day with music. I didn't love it but I also didn't like. But readers who like this type of book will enjoy the reading experience.
I am a sucker for a time loop story, and I loved this one because it reminded me SO much of watching Fifty First Dates!
Synopsis: Jack Lincoln is trapped in the same Thursday and he collides with the same girl, Gemma Peters, at a coffee shop, ruining her favorite shirt. He tries to get the girl to stop for a second and spend time with him - literally for 147 days! Finally, on this last day that it happens, things go differently - he is able to keep Gemma's attention and explain that they've met several times, gone on several dates, and that they're clearly stuck in a loop, but if he can get her to fall in love with him in one day, maybe the loop will break!
It's so fun that this book takes place in one day - so much going on! Gemma Peters, who is familiar to the Hollywood entertainment industry because of her famous father, is stuck in a rut at her radio job - but running into this handsome, dreamy Jack Lincoln and the story he tells about the potential time loop throws her whole life out of whack - in a great way! In this one day, with encouragement of Jack, there's effort to improve her relationship with her estranged father, she finally breaks out from behind the mic and nails her dream interview, among other things. But most importantly, she sees that there's real love out there with Jack.
This book is very much a love-at-first-sight, slightly unbelievable book, but it's such a feel good love story with a fun mystery time element. A fun, entertaining read that made me smile by the end!

Deja Glitch: the most romantic time loop story; thanks to the contributions of best boyfriend hero Jack Lincoln who is trapped in same Thursday: colliding into a girl in a cafe shop while he’s texting and ruining her favorite T-shirt! He runs into the same girl for 147 times! Isn’t it crazy? He watches over a girl for nearly 5 months, falling for her so hard and he lets her go at each time she makes another excuse and very next day she doesn’t remember him.

Jack has been stuck in the time loop for 147 days. The one constant is the girl he bumps into at the coffee shop, Gemma. Gemma has also been reliving the same day over and over again, but until today, she hasn't realized it yet. According to Jack, the only way to escape the time loop is for Gemma to fall in love with him.
The cover looked beautiful and the title was cute as well, so I was really excited to read it. I'm not super into time loop books that repeat the same day over and over, and this book wasn't that, it was set in just one day. To be honest, I'm not sure if that was a positive thing. It felt like A LOT happened in one day and it was a little exhausting. Gemma somehow had time to go to a coffee shop, go to work and interview her favorite childhood rockstar, go to her father's house, go to said favorite rockstars concert, birthday dinner with her bff, and the romantic airport grand gesture (not in this order). The book took a while for me to get into. It was a lot of Jack seeming stalker-ish because he's been reliving the day over and over and knew all these random facts about her and Gemma resisting.
Now onto what the book did right. I liked the growth of the characters. Gemma mending relationships with her family and learning forgiveness and independence. Both of them figuring out their careers. Lila and the TSA guy.
I'm giving this a 2.5 stars since I skim read it just to get to the end. Last book of 2022! This might not be for me, but if you enjoy insta-love stories, this one is for you.

The Deja Glitch was a cute, quick read, and I really enjoyed it. I love a time-loop romance, and this one was done in a way that most aren't which I appreciated. The characters, though somewhat cliche, were entertaining. Overall, if you like rom-coms, there's a very good chance this is a book for you. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.
The Deja Glitch by Holly James
What a cute book, it was definitely different from the usual storyline. I thought this book was fun and creative, a very easy read.
I really enjoyed this book. The story line as a little predictable but still held my attention the whole time. I thought it was a very cute book. The characters had you rooting for them from the beginning. I would recommend this book to someone that likes a good love story and a quick read.
Super super cute!! I picked this because I recently moved to LA and I adore it. I loved watching a love story unfold in my favorite city. I adore the characters, even the secondary characters like Lila!!!

This was a very fun read for me. I started and finished the book in a day. The two main characters of the story are on a loop in a fun groundhogs day read. While Jack has been reliving the same day for months, the one thing that pulls to him is Gemma. Through much patience and trials in getting Gemma to remember him, they finally have a day of new adventures that lead to a happy ending.
Such a cute read. Jack and Gemma are stuck in a time loop of repeating the same day over and over again. In this book we explore if there is a way to break these characters out of the loop and what that entails. With additional storylines of family and career paths, we go through the time loop at one point in time.
I liked this because it was different from your usual storyline types with a little bit of fun, creativity, and something not typical. It was nice slowly unraveling the characters as the book went on. Perfect for a fun, easy read.

This story is such a cute concept. I loved the synopsis and cover , and couldn’t wait to dive in. In short, Deja Glitch is about a young woman named Gemma who has unknowingly been reliving the same day over and over. She meets Jack who tells her they have to break the time loop, as he is the only one to remember the time loop. Gemma must fall in love with Jack for the loop to end.
For me, the story takes a bit to get going. Gemma is extremely resistant. However, I did like how we as the reader didn’t have to relive the same day. The story itself for the reader takes place one time. I felt like this helped keep redundancy out of the plot and gave the story a unique spin.
Overall, I did find the story entertaining once it got going. The characters also felt well developed to me, especially Jack.
A Deja Vu/Groundhogs Day concept is hard to pull off but The Deja Glitch does it very successfully! I thought it was great that the reader wasn't reading all 147 days that Jack has lived through but rather only the one day when he decides to convince Gemma that she is the key to breaking his loop. Love at first sight isn't a theme that I love but in this case James does a great job showing us how Jack has fallen in love with Gemma over the course of the five months he has relived the same day.
This is a romantic and Hallmark-y romance novel, not spicy at all, that is very well-written and all of the characters, even the secondary characters like Lila and Gemma's father and brother, are well developed. I have not read other books by this author but I am definitely interested in doing so after reading this book!

Adding to my list of favorite types of reading is time loop novels! The Deja Glitch is a super cute romcom following our main character, Gemma, who is stuck in the same day over and over again (147 times actually) but doesn’t know it. Her love interest, Jack, is the only one aware the day is repeating. Jack decides he has one day to convince Gemma to fall in love with him to break the cycle and the novel follows this one day. I appreciated this as sometimes the repetitiveness gets old in time loop reads.
This was a super sweet and easy read. This is very clean and has no spice, think Hallmark movie. However, I definitely recommend reading this when you are in the mood for something light and fun!

When Gemma kisses a stranger on the night of her best friend's birthday, her life as she knows it turns upside down. Jack and Gemma have been reliving the same day over and over, specifically one hundred and forty seven times. Jack has a theory that they have to fall in love in order to break the time warp. Can Gemma fall in love with a random stranger in 1 day?
I absolutely loved this book! It was like the cult classic movie, Ground Hogs Day, meets a modern romance novel. The idea for this book felt original to me, it was refreshing to read some romance that felt different than the rest. This wasn't a book just about two people falling in love but it was about friendship, family, taking risks, and bold honesty. Gemma had some great character development from being a stubborn lady who was set into her ways to someone who was open to the idea of falling in love before midnight. Jack's persistence and consistency made him her perfect match. This book is perfect for those who like the "closed door" romances and are on the hunt for a romance book without the "spicyness" to it. This book releases on 8/1/2023, go check it out. I know I'll be grabbing myself a physical copy!
A fun and charming look at the "Living the Same Day Over and Over Again" trope. Gemma and Jack are adorable, and you root for them right from the start. TI enjoyed the relational dynamics between Gemma's friends, coworkers, and family; made for a really fleshed-out story that allowed for more than their romance to be the driving force of this book.
As a Los Angeles native, it was also fun to have familiar landmarks mentioned...even if the most unrealistic element of this book for me was that they could get to them all in one day given LA traffic. :)
Thank you #netgalley and#penguingroupdutton for giving me the opportunity to read this book. #thedejaglitch was a delightful romance that had me cheering one characters. I really liked how the story play out. I haven’t read a book quite like this one. I will be suggesting it to family and friends.
A perfect read to end 2022.
The Deja Glitch was light and fun with an interesting plot that I had yet to come across in all the romance novels I've read.
The time loop added a sense of unpredictability to the plot that keep it exciting and engaging. The two main characters had interesting back stories and great chemistry all throughout the novel. I really enjoyed each character's personal growth in the time loop and how they each helped the other through that journey.
Gemma's best friend was also a highlight of the book. She was hysterical and keep the plot moving along in the most subtle ways.
The ending was a little bit predictable, but that's why we read romance novels, isn't it?
My only hangup with the book was the borderline obsessive relationship Gemma seemed to have with her brother, which I thought was a bit much at times.
All in all, The Deja Glitch was a solid, light, cute read with a HEA and interesting plot. I recommend for your TBRs!
Holly James’s Deja Glitch is a sweet take on Groundhog Day. While Jack an Gemma’s relationship was the center of the book, we also got insight into Gemma’s relationships with her family and best friend. It was a quick read, the perfect length for a book of this nature and even took a unique approach to the plot. James has a PHD in psychology and made sure to include some scientific explanation for how Jack became stuck in time.
This was my first read of Holly James, and I really enjoyed it! Deja Glitch is perfect for anyone who loves time-loop romance/second-chance romance. Don’t miss out when this book hits shelves 01 August, 2023.
I love this book. I felt very relatable and I enjoyed being in the world with the characters for the hours that it took me to read it.
