This was a sweet story. I wish that it was longer, but I know that a novella is designed to be shorter. I felt like everything was rushed, and I would have liked to see more character development. I loved that Paige and Monica had a backstory, and I loved that they had an instant connection in the present. Their relationship was believable, and I would like to read more about the two of them. I think there's potential for more stories about these two characters. I think that the writing was very bland, and it wasn't much of a romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours for an ARC of this book.

The plot would make for a cute Christmas film but the writing left a LOT to be desired. This is marketed as a queer Christmas romance but there is virtually no romance in it, and in about 50 pages there are a painful number of cliches. This needed a lot more editing - there are times that it randomly switches to past tense despite being written in present tense. Also, based on the portrayal of a British character in this, the writer has clearly never met a Brit. It was painful.

Why is this short book so perfect?!
I wish every favourite book of mine would be like this!

I love the writing so much! I cannot believe I am so much in love with the main character. She’s so real and so true to herself.

Annoying adult characters, warm characters, toxic side characters are there and they are really convincing.

Writing is good. I got attached to the two main characters (I feel so blessed!).

I love the ending too!!!

Thank you, Southside Mountain Press, for the advance reading copy.

Cute novella!

Monica is definitely having a bad day, boyfriend breaks up with her, gets home and barely see her parents, her grandpa moved to her old bedroom, her sister seems to not get her. Everything happening all at once has Monica deciding on skipping Christmas, since no one seems to care she's back home. That is, until she and Paige, her neighbour, start talking. It's a cute novella, but I feel it could've been a novel, there was more that could've been explored, everything felt so rushed. Despite the initial negativeness, it has a happy ending so it's a good start to the holiday season

this was so short and sweet. I loved the message of always putting yourself first and finding your joy again. The romance was so sweet. I know it was a short story but I do wish I could’ve read more about them. Thank you netgalley for the arc.

This was short and sweet. I do wish that we actually found out what Monica ends up doing but I had fun.

I received an arc through netgalley.
