I’ve found the barrier in vegan cookbooks is often judgment, convenience, or taste.
As a reluctant convert to vegan food myself, I find this cookbook to be welcoming and accessible. When I found out my fourth child had a milk and egg allergy I started to grapple with more vegan recipes.
I’ve been looking for a cookbook like this one where the judgment is low and accessibility high. Lanza includes a lot of teaching within the book. I found myself learning about some great pantry staples. I appreciated the tricks for common vegan ingredients like coconut milk and garbanzo beans.
As far as taste goes, I tested four recipes and was met with great results each time. The overnight oats and energy balls were a win. I served the chocolate fruit-and-nut fudge cups at a party and they were a hit. The adults loved the sophisticated and vegan “Reese’s cup” twist.
I did get into some trouble with the blueberry wagon wheels. I doubled the recipe. When I rolled out the dough, I only made 24 cookies. I should have been able to get double or 48. I think the US/UK conversion on that recipe is a bit confusing. It says 1 cm thickness, but that would be more around ⅜ inches instead of ½ inches like the recipe says.
All in all, the recipes were delicious, easy to make, and a great way to learn a little more about vegan cooking. I know I’m going to add this cookbook to my shelf and will heartily recommend it to all, vegan or not.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group- Fair Winds for providing my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Every recipe in this book looks AMAZING. I love that the ingredients are super healthy and packed full of nutrients! The recipes look easy to make and fairly quick. I found myself drooling over every photo. The layout of the book is so beautiful, bright, and simple. Can’t wait to add these ideas to my meal prep.
Someone very near and dear to my heart has an allergy to the protein in dairy so I am always looking for good recipes to make sure she has something exciting to eat when we get together. This cookbook is full of delicious recipes that are perfect for the vegan in your life or if you want to eat a little healthier! I can’t wait to make some of the treats for my friend. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc cookbook in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the pictures and recipes all sound so incredible and easy to get started with.
I haven’t yet tried any, but I have definitely made some bookmarks for some recipes I would like to try sometime.
Some of the recipes seems to have a lot of different ingredients, which I think can be a bit of a turn off.
But otherwise it sounds great!
This is your basic vegan cook book. I didn't find a lot of inspiration in the pages and found there were a lot of ingredients for each recipe and that the ingredients were repetative. Beautiful photos though!
Thank you NetGalley and Fair Winds Press for the ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Since becoming a vegetarian I have embarked in a ever wonderful food discovery journey, with the aim to enrich my diet and keep things interesting.
Amy Lanza has created the perfect balance between aesthetic food pictures and simple recipes perfect for everyday consumption. The easy to follow instructions allow the reader to keep up with the cooking without feeling as though they have to juggle three different actions at the same time.
All in all, Nourishing Vegan Every Day is a well rounded cookbook that favours, as the tittle suggests, the ability to consistently cook vegan food and does not make it feel as a draining task.
This cookbook has beautiful and creative recipes. These are all recipes I would love to try and the dessert section looks and sounds amazing. I'm really excited to start working these recipes to my liking.
Nourishing Vegan Every Day: Simple, Plant-Based Recipes Filled with Color and Flavor is a delicious recipe book offering a wide variety of easy to follow recipes for everyday eating. The pictures are mouthwatering and there are lots of recipes I want to try. The instructions are easy to follow for all levels and the book is lovely to browse through. There is lots of additional information and advice. Overall an excellent book and of the many out there this is one I would definitely buy.
Great mix of vegan recipes, I'll definitely be making a bunch of these! They're healthy but also all look delicious. Some solid new ideas for me here.
I absolutely love the cover to this cookbook as it is colorful and the food looks delicious. I liked this book a lot as it has whole food vegan recipes where the ingredients are most likely already in your pantry. The pictures help a lot with feeling inspired to make the recipes. I can't wait to buy this cookbook and really try out all of these recipes in the future.
A fantastic vegan cookbook that will be a fab addition to everyone's bookshelf! I think there are dishes in here that the biggest carnivore would love as well! I like that there are different sections covering breakfasts. brunches, lunch, dinner and more.
Simply delicious book with easy and colorful recipes accompanied with gorgeous photos of the vegan food. Everyone will find something for their taste.
I usually can't get enough of vegan cookbooks, so I started reading again to mark some of my favourite recipes I'd like to try in the future.
This will make a perfect gift for a vegan foodie.
This is an awesome addition to anyone's collection of vegan cookbooks. The recipes are beginner-friendly, with clear and detailed instructions. The ingredients lists are also very approachable, with few things that will be unfamiliar or inaccessible to most folks. I was especially happy to see the amount of fruits and vegetables utilized in this cookbook. Of course a vegan-diet based cookbook will have more fruits and vegetables, but sometimes the amount is underwhelming. My main purpose in pursuing vegan cookbooks is to increase the amount of plant-based ingredients I'm consuming, not just to cut out animal-derived ingredients. Additionally, the photography in this cookbook is stunning and definitely makes me want to cook everything. I've also started to follow Lanza's blog to get even more of these recipes.
Although vegan is part of vegetarian but less people knew about the difference. Vegan as a lifestyle is deeper than only avoiding consumption from animals.. It is also refuse to use all categories of animals exploitation and animals sideline product such as gelatine, honey, wheat, casein, albumin and several supplement made from fish oil. As non vegan I respected the choice, and wanna learn few of their recipes for personal healthy benefits.
Nourishing Vegan Every Day is awesome vegan cookbook fills with mouthwatering pictures and delicious dishes. The variance is wide and curate carefully to look and taste good but also consistently using vegan ingredients. Some of the ingredients isnt easy to found at local groceries store, but I appreciate the creativity to find substitutes for non vegan version. Some recipes are intriguing and make me want to try it one or two someday.
Thank you Netgalley and Fair Winds Press from Quarto Publishing Group for providing my copy. My thoughts always my own.
Nourishing Vegan Every Day is not only the most visually appealing vegan cookbook, but one of my top ten favourite cookbooks of the year.
The recipes are set out beautifully and are easy to follow. Ingredients are easy to come by, and if you enjoy cooking, most will already be in your fridge and pantry. The recipes are easy to prepare and I believe even an inexperienced cook will be able to pull them off effortlessly. Not being vegan myself, but always looking to add more veggies to our meals, I will be using this book on a daily basis. There are also some great recipes to camouflage veggies for little picky eaters.
My only complaint would be towards some of the breakfast recipes. I fear that some of them will be a bit time consuming before work and school, but would be great for brunch over weekends.
Overall I think this is a must-have cookbook not only for vegans but also meat-eaters to add some variety to your weekly menu.
Thank you Netgalley and Amy Lanza for giving me the opportunity to read this masterpiece.
This book has a helpful introduction to vegan cooking. The serving suggestions and variations notes at the end of most recipes provide gluten-free and nut-free alternatives, as well as encourage creativity with different flavors and ingredients. It includes an excellent gluten-free vegan recipe for flatbread that I have tried and enjoyed. However, this book does not always provide alternatives to tofu, but has soy free/gluten free alternatives for soy sauce. I found the recipes in this book moderately interesting and appetizing. I would recommend it most for vegan bakers and those who enjoy tofu based recipes and vegan cheese.
I received this recipe book from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
I was very pleased with this collection of vegan recipes by Amy Lanza. She has created a fantastic collection of delicious recipes with very easy and straight foreword instructions.
One of my favourite recipes was the easy cheesy scalloped potatoes which was absolutely delicious!
All beautifully displayed recipes that you would probably see in the high end restaurants or cafes yet I couldn't find a single recipe that I would feel confident to make for my family on a regular basis. Ingredients lists are long and stuff not that easy to come by. I also find it very frustrating that so many recipes use so much sugar. This defeats the whole health factor for me and at that point I rather fo for a more nutritionally nourishing recipe than an eye pleasing one.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for an opportunity to read this.
Beautiful recipes! Some were a bit intricate for a beginner like myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed the recipes.
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Delicious vegan recipes, the best vegan cookbook I have ever had. I shall be using this as a reference and referring to it a lot. Highly recommended.
