Cute and a quick read! Like all of Meghan Quinn’s books, I completely devoured this and fell in love with the characters. At the end I was left wanting more of them. Definitely a quick, fun read.
This is just the sweetest, swooniest story. It’s the perfect little amuse-bouche of holiday romance. Just the tastiest little morsel.
I loved this epistolary, second-chance romance. And these two start out with all the banter that you love in an enemies to lovers book! I totally have a weekness for those!
This is such a quick read, but it really packs a punch. I loved that the local mailman plays their matchmaker.
You cannot go wrong making a little time to read this amazing novella. It will totally help get you into the holiday spirit.
I loved this book, but Meghan Quinn is a writer that I typically gravitate toward. This had the perfect amount of holiday grump connecting with a fellow anonymous holiday grump. the banter was great, the chemistry was great, and since it is a quick read, its the perfect pace for the holidays.

If you love Meghan Quinn's prior books you will love this one. Resting Scrooge Face is a cute, holiday novella that will put you in the hoilday spirit.
This was just the perfect mix of sweet without any insane drama or over the top breakups. There's lots of humor between Caleb and Nola, especially in their letters to each other. And a laugh out loud scene involving paint in a hardware store. The story is short and sweet but doesn't skimp on Meghan's trademark comedy or romance, and its an enjoyable holiday read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for the chance to read and review this book.
Pull up your blanket, pick up your cup of cocoa, and snuggle in for this delicious treat. This novella was a treat. Ms. Quinn brought charm, romance, and loads of Christmas spirit with this one.
Nola and Caleb are feeling a little bit like Scrooge this holiday season. With the help of a mailman, humorous letters, and open hearts these two are about to realize what they deserve. Not only were Caleb and Nola great characters, but I also adored Arden and Grandma Louise.

I’m a huge Meghan Quinn fan and this story did not disappoint! This was so much fun with great characters and a feel good plot! I loved that it was funny and heartwarming all at the same time. I was easily able to devour this story in an afternoon. This makes a fantastic story for everyone who is busy this time of year. I highly recommend this enjoyable rom-com. Huge thanks to netgalley for allowing me to read and review this story!
This was an adorable novella to put you in the holiday spirit.
Caleb owns a hardware store and is feeling grumpy about the upcoming holiday season. He writes a letter lamenting his disdain for the Christmas as Resting Scrooge Face.
Nola, Caleb's ex, has moved back to town after a breakup and is remodeling her childhood home-and doing her best to avoid Caleb. She is also not at all into the holiday spirit.
After some meddling from the town's postman, Caleb and Nola are exchanging letters and don't even realize it. Will this connection give them the opportunity for a 2nd chance?
I love small town Christmas reads and this was hwas a fun, humorous read that was over far too quickly. I was wishing it was a full length novel! But if are you are looking for something fun and light to get you in the Christmas spirit this is definitely a great option.
A holiday romcom in book format - Returning to her small hometown after years in the city, Nola is less than enthused about the holidays, and when someone shares with her a letter from a scrooge, the back and forth correspondence starts to brighten her days...
Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Original Stories for the ARC.
Thanks to @netgalley and the author for the early copy of Resting Scrooge Face, which is out tomorrow! If you are looking for a light, fun holiday read, MQ delivers with her signature snark in this holiday novella. This is a Hallmark movie peppered with the humor we’ve come to appreciate from this author, and reminds me a lot of “The One Night” setting us up for a future read with a minor character.

💜 I thoroughly enjoyed this bite-sized read this morning, and it was perfect for easing back into the work week after a holiday weekend.
Meghan Quinn writes it, I read it!! Nola and Caleb will put you in the Christmas mood and holiday spirit!! I loved this sweet novella of second chance romance with Holiday twists!! It’s one of my favorite romance towns and families!!
This is a cute, second chance romance, holiday read without the usual level of steam from Meghan Quinn.
Nola leaves NYC to go home to Bright Harbor, ME after a bad breakup. She’s not looking forward to seeing her ex, Caleb, because he broke her heart.
Caleb is tired of Christmas cheer, and he writes a letter from Resting Scrooge Face but throws it out. The local mailman retrieves it and sends it. Pretty soon, Caleb gets a letter in return from Ho Ho No, who shares his sentiments about the Christmas season. They write back-and-forth, and realize that they have a lot in common. They finally decide to meet one night at a gazebo. Who can it be??
I loved the characters and the Christmas cheer, it definitely put me in a Christmas mood! 4 stars
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.
This was a very fun, sweet novella! It is a second chance love with a dose of mysterious penpal. I would love to read more about Nola and Caleb in anther installment!
Thanks to Meghan Quinn, Amazon Original Stories, and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
A short, fun read for the festive season with second chance romance, holiday spirit, and old people meddling - always the best meddlers, I find! I breezed through this book whilst curled up on the sofa at the weekend and whilst it was predictable I still enjoyed it and am feeling a little more festive than I was before. The friction between the two main characters was entertaining, especially knowing how much Caleb was kicking himself for it when all he'd been doing for years was pining after Nola! As a short story, it was hard to get to know the characters well and truly develop their relationship but Quinn did a great job and successfully added humour and quirky, lovable side characters into the mix as well!
In true Meghan Quinn fashion, Resting Scrooge Face was a fun and binegable read. It is a novella, so shorter in length. I don't want to use this as a fault though, however I would have loved to have more of this story! The fun letters back and forth is always a trope favourite. I was shocked that there was no spice to this book, just a sweet and romantic festive story!
Resting Scrooge Face by Meghan Quinn is a cute holiday romance and perfect to start the season. I enjoyed the witty banter between Caleb and Nola and the many laugh out loud moments in the book. It was a feel good, festive short story that was the perfect jumpstart to my holiday reading!
A cute story for the holiday. I love Meghan's books, they are witty and sexy, they often connect but are their own story. She introduces you to someone and then sometimes they get their own story and you see your other friends and what they are up to, love it. The story happens and it is not forced. This is a perfect quick read to get you in the season. Connects to Untying the Knot. You see how Nola, Ryot's sister and Caleb reconnect over the holidays and who is behind their connection.
A cute holiday story from Meghan Quinn about second chances. Caleb and Nola had a past relationship but now they can’t be in the same room without bickering. When a letter gets delivered, will sparks fly again and forgiveness be on the menu this holiday season?
Resting Scrooge Face is a fun and light holiday novella set in a small town. It’s told in Meghan Quinn’s style filled with fun banter and characters you love.
I just adore Meghan Quinn romances, and Resting Scrooge Face was no exception. Quinn gives us so much to love in this short story: the one who got away, small town romance, holiday romance, secret identities, and letter writing spurred on by the 70 year old mailman.
Between two main characters that readers will spend the whole story wanting to see together, plus a fantastic couple of supporting characters in Arden and Grandma Louise, this was a quick but enjoyable way to get into the holiday spirit.
I'm a huge fan of the grumpy/sunshine trope, but I really didn't mind that both Caleb and Nola had the bah humbug attitude throughout most of the story. In this case, grumpy/grumpy worked better than I anticipated. The holidays aren't easy for a lot of people, so I could completely relate to both Nola and Caleb as they dreaded the holiday festivities around them.
As much as I love a happily-ever-after, I think my favorite part of Resting Scrooge Face was the back and forth letter writing between our main characters, and the little side remarks Arden makes the whole time. Arden is the 70 year old best friend we all need in our lives. And Caleb and Nola's letter signatures? I need "Sincerely, Resting Scrooge Face" and "Sincerely, Ho Ho No" on shirts or matching coffee mugs or something.
Resting Scrooge Face is a short, binge-able holiday romance that is perfect for both those filled with holiday cheer and those who are looking for a reason to believe. This story isn't too complex, allowing Quinn the space to emphasize the simple relationship that grows into the best kind of love.
This holiday novella is a must read for all Meghan Quinn fans, and is an excellent introduction to her stories for anyone new to her writing. Short and sweet, Resting Scrooge Face is a must-read holiday romance.
Nola has given up on love as well as the Christmas season. She moved from New York back to her hometown in Maine after a breakup. The local mail carrier begins giving Nola letters from an anonymous sender who feels the same about Christmas. Nola and this stranger bond over the letters. Unbeknownst to her, the sender is Caleb, the boy who broke her heart. Caleb doesn't know who he is writing to either, so once they figure it out...
This was short and sweet. Not nearly as spicy as other Megan Quinn books, but a cute Hallmark-like Christmas story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This story was such a cute, heart-felt read.
This is not my typical read as I don't like Christmas and don't often like romantic reads. However, I was drawn in by the fact that the story centers around Caleb and Nola who don't like the holiday either.
I ended up loving everything about this read: the characters, the small town setting, and the letters they write that reunite them.
Will definitely be looking for more of the author's work.
