Great Christmas book! I loved the letters they sent to each other. It was so cute. And the fact that the Louise and Arden both helped get Nola and Caleb back together was so great! Highly recommend this book!

I'm so excited that it's starting to feel like Christmas and that I snagged a copy of this book early! I needed something I could cuddle under a blanket and read in one sitting, especially since I've been having some withdrawals after reading Ryot and Myla's story. This book is PERFECT!

Nola is mentioned in Untying the Knot and now we get to read about her and her very own Scrooge. Caleb's true love, Nola, has come back after a break up with her ex-boyfriend and they haven't seen each other in years. Things ended badly so he's turned into a Christmas hating grinch. Likewise, Nola is fed up with Christmas and all of the joy that surrounds it. She's dreading running into Caleb and is content to sulk.

The best part of this book, the letters and the way they bring these two back together at the perfect time and in the perfect place! Nola, Caleb, Arden and Grandma Louise were such amazing characters, my only wish is that it was longer!

Enjoy some of Arden's pearls of wisdom ❤️

"And why not, exactly? Is it because you want nothing to do with her? Or is it because you still very much love her, regret the way you treated her, and want nothing more than to be with her again?"

"Trust me when I say if you love her, you need to fight. I know this from experience. I once loved an lost but never fought. I regret it to this day. If you still love her and she's in Bright Harbor for good, then I think it's time you fix things."

I’ve been a big fan of Meghan Quinn for years. I especially enjoyed her Port Snow series. It was delightful to get a chance to see some of it of the brothers in this cute Christmas novella! At the beginning of every holiday season I try to read a few Christmas books to get in the spirit and as always Meghan Quinn hit the mark! I totally recommend this novella for anybody who wants to just have a cozy, cup of tea and enjoy a short sweet holiday romance!

Resting Scrooge Face was a delightful short holiday romance story.

It is dual POVs of the main characters, Nola Bisley and Caleb Butler, and has some great tropes like: secret pen pals, a small town and second chance romance.

The overall premise was very enjoyable but quite surface level to be honest. There were some amusing and heartwarming moments though. The side characters were hilarious as well with all their meddling.

The romance between Nola and Caleb was really sweet. I loved their letters and how easily they fell back together. There was no spice in the story though, which was fine.

My only real complain is, I wished this would have been a full book instead of a short story, as I just would have loved for more of Nola and Caleb’s story.

Also, if you’ve read Untying The Knot by this author, Nola’s the sister of the hero of that book which was a nice surprise.

Overall, just a lighthearted and festive read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Super cute, short, fun holiday story. All the great banter you want from Meghan's stories! Absolute hit! I loved the side characters and the town. I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie!

Oh my gosh what a fun book! I loved it! It’s got all you need in a Christmas book! Small town, meddling people and a Scrooge! It’s a quick fun read so dont miss out on Meghan Quinn’s bawdy sense of Christmas humor!

This is the first book by this author and I really enjoyed the flow of this story book.

This is a second-chance romance, set during the holiday season. Caleb and Nola were once in love, however, Caleb let Nola go because she was moving to New York City and he felt he didn’t fit into that plan. Resentment and anger are at the pit of Nola’s heart because she saw Caleb’s decision as an expression lacking love for Nola. But both Caleb and Nova love years apart not knowing each one fills that hole in the heart for one another.

So anonymous letters begin between one another, confessing their hatred for the holiday season. Will they reconcile and see love is at the foundation of their connection or will they let their past pain dictate how they move forward? You’ll have to read to see. But I promise the sweetness behind their love will keep you smiling after that last page is read.

I LOVED that his was about Ryots sister from untying the knot! When I first read it I thought I missed her book.

This book as ALL the port snow vibes you
Can ask for!! Pen pal letters, winter wonderland, sarcasm and humor galore! Not spice since it’s super short but honestly with how adorable this holiday novella was you’d never miss it!!

Loved it!!

4.5 STARS!

This was a quick and cute Holiday read and I loved it. I love a good second-chance romance and throw in the Christmas theme, and I just knew this was going to be a great story!!

I thought it was great that Nola and Caleb had no idea (thanks to Arden and Grandma Louise) that they were pen pals both not in the mood for the upcoming holiday. And I loved that through their letters they realized that maybe they’re not as upset with Christmas as they thought.

Throw in some snarky banter and sweet moments and this book is just what you need to get you holiday ready!

ALL THE CHRISTMAS FEELS!!!!

This was the perfect little Christmas read in one sitting novella. I absolutely adored Nola and Caleb as well as Arden and Grandma Louise. The letters back and forth were my favorite part. Watching each of them turn from Resting Scrooge Face and Ho Ho No to embracing the Christmas spirit got me all in my feels. I am a huge fan of a second chance and this was absolute perfection. Meghan didn't leave us without laugh out loud moments and the paint spill was hysterical. Nola & Caleb's story was everything you love about a Christmas story. The heart knows what it wants and sometimes you just need a little Christmas magic.

What a fun small town holiday read. Nola returns to her hometown following a breakup with her boyfriend. Just one problem, her ex ex still lives in town, and no matter how hard she tries to avoid him, the inevitable happens, and I’ve got to say, their interactions are less than hospitable. You see, Caleb is disappointed in himself, he didn’t want to see Nola, because it reminds him that she is “the one that got away”. When all is said and done, neither Caleb nor Nola are in the festive mood, but with a little help from the local Postie, Arden, maybe they can see beyond their misery and feel a little holiday cheer. A quick fun read, quirky characters and a sweet entertaining storyline. A great read for the holiday season. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

After a bad breakup, Nola wants nothing to do with the festive season this year. She is ready to head back home to her cute little town of Bright Harbor, but with feel of the town, that just makes her feel even more like a Grinch. Making matters worse, Nola runs into her ex-boyfriend, Caleb, the boy who broke her heart years ago. While doing her best to avoid him, Nola bumps into the local mailman, who gives her a mysterious letter. And when she finds that the writer is a fellow Scrooge, she can’t help but feel her spirit lifting. Reading the letter, Nola finds a kinship with the other writer, proving there is chemistry between the both of them. She can feel her spirits lighten the more they write. Is this a new love story? Or is it an old one rekindled?

This was a beautifully cute and well written love story. The chemistry was evident in the letters from the beginning, and the banter between both Nola and Caleb felt fresh and flowed well. Arden and Grandma Louise and their meddling gave the book a comedic element, making it seem like this could truly happen in real life. This is a clean holiday read, which is a great change and gives off a 'Hallmark-esque' feel perfect for getting you into the Christmas spirit. Resting Scrooge Face is the perfect single sitting read for the lead up to Christmas. Grab a hot chocolate and some cookies and dive into this sweet read from the wonderful Meghan Quinn. This one is available from November 29th, 2022.

This was a sweet second chance novella. The letters between Resting Scrooge Face and Ho Ho No were a really fun change of pace, from their mutual “dislike” of the holidays to how their letters help each other’s moods improve.
The meddling from Arden (and Grandma Louise) had me laughing out loud.
I really liked how Caleb and Nola moved past their previous relationship and moved on to a new happily ever after!
This was a really sweet read to get in to the holiday spirit!

My Thoughts:
This was a short and sweet holiday novella that felt just like watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. I felt like the length was perfect as it didn’t need any more detail or time span to get the warm and fuzzy hallmark vibes.

This was my first book by Meghan Quinn and have heard hers are usually quite steamy- but this one deviates from that as it was short, sweet, and a simple holiday romance being told.

I loved the small town meddling vibes as they were very on par for the traditional holiday romance and gave me no more and no less than I was hoping for.

If you are looking for a quick romance that feels like you are reading a Hallmark Christmas movie and takes about that much time to read due to its short length I’d highly recommend checking this one out!

It is available on Kindle Unlimited as of November 29th, 2022. Thank you Amazon Originals and Meghan Quinn for the ARC copy of this cute holiday romance in exchange for my honest thoughts!

Such a cute holiday read 😍 I love the pen pal aspect of the plot and this is a great short story for those who are starting looking for Christmas reads. It's fast paced, has a unique kind of way to tell the story (through letters) and will get you in a Christmas mood in no time. Love it 😍

Thank you for the E Arc NetGalley and Amazon Stories. If you love a good quick swoon this is your story, the only problem is, you don’t want it to end. This book gave me the feels and I loved it so much. I could read so much more about Caleb, Nola, Arden and Grandma. This is the perfect cozy Christmas story to sit and indulge in.

If you like You’ve Got Mail but want it to be even more heavy on the seasonal setting, with protagonists who’ve dated once upon a time, and a very Hallmark-esque Christmas-crazy town, well, this Short Story is perfect for you.

Both Nola and Caleb were good main characters and I really loved their fun letter exchanges. There is something about people who belong together just clicking with each other when they have their guards down and allow connections to happen. Outsider their epistolary fun they also charmed my pants off.

All in all - a short, fun, and sweet Christmas story about second chances, perfect to get in the festive mood during the busy season.

Short, sweet & merry!! I loved this and the fact that we get to see a bit of Nola from Untying the Knot!!

I absolutely loved the letter writing in this book. Think two grinchy pen pals who are not loving the holiday vibes around them communicate about their mutual dislike through old school letter writing!!

Archer & grandma Louise >>>> let’s be honest they’re the real main characters. I love them with my whole heart.
