Short and sweet!

A nice novella to get you started into the holiday romance spirit!

I love all words by Meghan Quinn so it is no surprise that I would loved more words from this couple!

The banter and chemistry was amazing.

Enjoyed this one completely!

Resting Scrooge Face was a short and sweet Christmas romance!

I loved the mystery pen pal turned ex high school sweetheart storyline.

It was also really nice to be back near the Port Snow family I loved so much in the Getting Lucky Series!

Super cute holiday novella! I love the letters back and forth. Meghan always does such a fantastic job of writing not only main characters that you love, but side characters as well. Sully and Arden are such an amazing addition to this cute holiday novella. I don't want to give too much away, but Nola and Caleb were so fun to read.

What a freaking adorable second chance Christmas romance. Nola is back in her hometown fixing up her childhood home with fears of running into Caleb, the one that got away.
Caleb is feeling extra scroogey this holiday season and pens a letter that ends up in Arden the elderly mailman hands. The letter finds its way to Nola and what happens next is pen pals from resting scrooge face to ho ho no! This story was hilarious and we get to fall in love at Christmas time!

This was such an adorable book! I loved everything about it. I'm kind of sad it was a novella! As always Meghan Quinn writes the most amazing books

This was such a cute, sweet little short story. I would have loved this to have been a full length novel. I loved the premise and the cute little town and the charming characters. I would love a novel maybe expanding on this town and these characters some more!

Such a fun holiday novella from Meghan Quinn!

Nola and Caleb broke up after high school when Nora wanted to move to New York for college but Caleb wanted to stay in their hometown of Bright Harbor, Maine. Years later Nora is back home after a bad breakup and Caleb runs his family’s hardware store. They’re both having rough holiday seasons and end up commiserating together over letters.

This book is such a fast paced, easy read. Was surprised that there was no spice in this book but still enjoyed it! With just 6 chapters, you can knock this out in one sitting.

Read if you love:

✨BOOK REVIEW✨
Resting Scrooge Face
By Meghan Quinn

This was a short story, but oh how I wish this was a whole book!
This was such a cute little holiday read, but it felt so rushed! I wanted to dive in to the lives of Caleb and Nola so much more…..I felt like I only got the tip of the iceberg. It would have been nice to get a glimpse of them before Boston, and their lives up until where this story takes place. And some SPICE!!! I needed some heat. I felt it between these two, and this also felt overlooked or rushed.

With all that being said, it was a cute little holiday read! I was turning pages, and enjoyed the story. I just feel there’s an entire book here, and these characters would do well telling their full tale! Make it happen, I’m here for it 😆

Rating:🎄🎄🎄🎄/5

This is a short story about Nola who is back in her home town and Caleb who regrettably let her go years ago. They unknowingly start exchanging letters with each other slowly getting to know each other again.

Loved this! I wish it was longer!! I enjoyed the letters and think this could be a very enjoyable full length story. I’d love more backstory of why Nola and Caleb broke up, how they met, etc.

I received an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Short and sweet. Just what my own little Scrooge heart needed.
I should clarify: my Scrooge heart has no problem with the holiday season, it's holiday romances that I'd rather avoid. But when it's Meghan Quinn telling the story you can be sure I'll be right there falling in love right alongside the characters. Not only that but definitely leave me wanting more.
As I said it's a short simple story that proves sometimes you do not need hundreds of pages to tell a great love story.

Nola is back in her hometown after a break up. Caleb is the boy who broke her heart, who happens to live in her hometown as well. They hate each other and they hate Christmas. Can they find a way to not be miserable?

This is an adorable short story. It's the perfect little book to get you into the Christmas spirit. It will warm your heart and leave you ready to bake some Christmas cookies.

Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Original Series for the ARC of this book.

I really enjoyed this adorable Christmas short story.
December is a great time to fit this in with how quick it was to read. It was the perfect choice for a book that put me in a festive mood and let me reminisce about the things I love about the holidays. I really enjoyed that this was written in part by using letters between the two characters. It felt sweet while also being funny!

What made me give it 4 stars instead of 5? The fact that there seemed to be some parts I felt were problematic when it came to the "anonymous letter" situation. That is all can say at this point without spoilers. And this could be partly due to the fact that it was a short story.

Nola and Caleb were high school sweethearts until Caleb broke Nola’s heart by refusing to move to New York with her. Nola is reeling from a fresh break up and heads back to her hometown where Caleb still lives. She tries her best to avoid him but it’s proving difficult to do in their small town. Nola’s feelings for Caleb start to come back just as she’s building a relationship with a pen pal who is just as grumpy as she is about the holiday season. This was such a cute story! I loved it - perfect Christmas time read! Thank you Netgalley and Amazon for the egalley in exchange for my honest review.

Super cute holiday novella. I love epistolary stories, so I really enjoyed this! The characters had depth even though this was a novella.

Meghan Quinn is always a great choice! This is a cute novella with second chances and small town romance. I enjoyed the history of the couple and fun secret letters. Super fun Christmas read!!

This was an adorable and quick festive read. The story is told in dual POV and features some of my favorite tropes with small town and second chance romance.

The banter and sass is great and along with lovable side characters I was wearing a smile from the first page until the last.

This is the first I’ve read by Meghan Quinn but it certainly won’t be my last!

This was very cute and very short, so although there was a lot of feels, not enough for steam, if that's what you're looking for. Nola and Caleb are from the same town, and left things a bit acrimonious when they broke up. Now that Nola is back in town after a bad break, she is in low spirits, as is Caleb. When Caleb writes a cranky note about why he hates Christmas, it falls into Nola's hands, and unbeknownst to each other, they commiserate over the bah humbug spirit. This book is short enough for you to get their backstory, and since they had a relationship before, it was easy for them to rekindle their romance once they explain their feelings. A cute little romance for the holidays.

An adorable little Christmas snack wrap up in a bow. This is a sweet little RomCom for the moment when you need an escape of the holiday pressure and you don’t have a ton of time. It’s short it’s sweet but it is also a lot of fun. It sort of makes me want to go paint a room. Thanks to NetGalley for the read.
