In this novella, the author embarks on the challenging task of crafting a second-chance romance within a limited word count. As is often the case with novellas, there is a delicate balance to strike between pacing and depth, and while this story manages to capture the essence of a second-chance romance, there are moments where the narrative feels rushed.
Second-chance romances come with a lot of baggage – all those memories and feelings left hanging in the air, especially when the main characters share two very important people. The author deftly navigates these complexities, weaving together a tale of love lost and rediscovery.
While the novella succeeds in delivering a sweet and satisfying romance, I do wish there was more depth and nuance to fully flesh out the story, the characters and their relationship could have been further developed, allowing readers to immerse themselves more fully in their journey of reconciliation and rediscovery.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review
This is a good book. The two main characters are Lorelei and Wynn. They dated in high school and college until one day Wynn disappeared. Lorelei found out a couple of months after she was pregnant with twins. She had tried to find Wynn but she couldn’t. He had written letters but she never got them. Five years later he comes back to California to a friend’s wedding. There he sees Lorelei, she is the caterer for the wedding. She introduces him to the children. They fall back in love.
Stained Glass Memories is a very inspirational novella length book.
I read it quickly because I was so charmed with the book.
This is a second chance romance that started with good intentions and end with a happily ever after.
Caterer Lorelei Warner is overwhelmed at the number of cookies she'll need to bake for a 3-day wedding event. Frazzled and stressed she almost doesn't see her old beau-Stained glass restorer Wynn Tatum.
Wynn went away to live his own dream but is now in the life of Loreli again to both of their delights.
One thing he wasn't counting on is the surprise he finds that changes his life for the better.
Heartwarming and encouraging I enjoyed the book a lot with its descriptions of compassion, understanding and forgiveness.
