Review 🗣️
My daughter loves drawing and coloring so much! This was the perfect book for her. I actually think it’s a great gift idea for any kid or even adult who wants some extra practice with the cutest little drawings I’ve ever seen. It’s a big book and there are tons of small little creatures for you to choose from. Some of the words in the book my daughter needed help with, but most of it was just looking at pictures and following each step. So cute and so easy!
-Step by step instructions on how to draw! 🦄
-Great for beginners.🐌
-A really fun way to learn more about drawing. 🦊
Thank you so much for this book! My daughter and I loved it! ♥️
This is a super easy-to-read and learn-from book with short simple steps this is good as a gift for someone who is starting drawing or a younger middle-grade student. cool colourful and cute.
This book has easy to understand and follow on how to draw a variety of cute animals. So much fun and a great way to increase your drawing skills.
You Can Draw Cute Animals by Yasmina Mattson is cute book that teaches you how to draw animals step by step. I really love the duck, panda, giraffe and flamingo. Read the book I think you will love the easy to read instructions.
This was a fun and cute book to go over with my kids! I wish i had the physical copy.
Definitely a great xmas present!
This title is sure to appeal to budding artists and doodlers. It has lots of info on materials and techniques, ideas about colors, shading, and more, and step by step instructions for creating everything from hedgehogs to bunnies to koalas, ponies and many others. In my opinion, this title requires a bit of skill so maybe it will most be enjoyed by older kids or teens and adults.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
This is perfect for fans of Kawaii style with these anthropomorphic objects, animals, food, holiday theme... As an art teacher for kindergarten and elementary students, the step-by-step shown in these are simple and easy to follow even in complex animal designs such as a sitting fox. It works well as a base for kids to explore, complete, or simplify the proposed exercise. It's essential to let the child know these can be a starting point and the end result can look alike or not (every artist has their own line style). For example, the author teaches to draw a fox, and the base of the tutorial serves to draw wolves or animals that will look alike (with a little imagination and freedom) that's why I like this book because we can reuse the teaching to transform and create our own creatures.
Also, a great way to practice children's focus is by letting them explore what was added from one step to the next. The author picked the main steps, not showing all single lines, but it's easy to follow.
I confess I have a lot of fun with these, even as an adult, adding doodles to my journaling.
Those who already draw a lot will want something more advance.
I completely agree with the book's motto. Practice, practice, practice.
Note ( I will post a video of me drawing the fox using this method along with the reviews later including a reel)
Compared to other similar books, for a person like myself who is creative but doesn't have a natural talent I found the instructions difficult to follow. Nice drawings and colour but maybe for someone more advanced.

A Step-by-step guide to drawing and colouring Adorable Creatures
My thoughts:
Very cute and perfect for beginners
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a really cute book with lots of information about drawing, blending, adding in personal touches and so much more. I found this to be a little more advance than I had originally expected. It delves into proper shading and coloring whereas I thought it might have been more simple and basic in creating cute animals.
This is amazing my daughter loves drawing and she enjoys this so much!! I highly recommend getting this!
I recently bought myself an Ipad and ProCreate, so I can learn how to draw.
This is such a cute and very informative book, and I picked up several tips on drawing cute animals that I have used while drawing on my Ipad. I am not yet a pro, but as the author writes "Practice makes better", so I will continue to draw using the tips in this book as well as to copy her examples.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC to improve my poor drawing skills. The book is really clear and gives a lot of tip and exercises to practice drawing, using Colors, shades,… then when it comes to the cute animal themselves the step by step are easy to follow and the result is good, if you try of course. Let’s face it, what I did is not perfect but I am proud of me ! Would recommend!
You Can Draw Cute Animals: A Step-by-Step Guide to Drawing and Coloring Adorable Creatures. In this book the author takes a life like picture of an animal and shows how it can be turned into a Cute drawing of the animal. Great for children even though it is not completely step by step. The cute style might not be to everyone's taste but it is a bit of fun. Overall a good rainy day book for beginner adults or children.
This is the first time I’ve come across a book for drawing cute animals by breaking down the components from a photograph of an animal. Really effective and I love it. A good variety of animals are covered and will help the reader create cute from their own observations.
The guidance on coloring is really helpful too.
5 stars from me. Really looking forward to drawing more cute animals!
This was a cute book, but I still found the little characters too hard to draw for my abilities. It would be great for someone who has a little more drawing talent to foster.

Honest review from my 9 year old daughter.
Drawing is one of my favorite hobbies, so I really enjoyed this book. I liked the step by step directions of learning how to draw in a different, cute way.
The book starts out explaining what supplies and techniques the artist needs. The author tells you her favorite brands of each supply, like pen brand, what size of watercolor brush to start with and preferred colored pencils. It's always nice knowing exactly what an artist finds most successful to use!
This is more of a teaching book on how to observe an item or animal and how to draw a "cutie" from that form. She then goes over coloring, backgrounds, shading, textures etc.
Then there are pages full of animals to draw. A small photo of a real animal and then her version of how to make it a "cutie". She shows very few lines of how to draw the item, and then fills it in with digital color. This isn't my favorite "how to draw" type book. This book seems to concentrate on a more comprehensive look at drawing as a whole and teaching the student how to think for themselves and create their own version of cuties, of course with inspiration in this book!
Some of the "cuties" in this book are: koala, goat, seal, giraffe, chameleon, turtle, tiger, pony, pig, fox etc.

This is a great drawing tutorial book on creating cute animals. One of its strengths is the front section that really goes into good information about materials, techniques and what makes things look cute. I’ve seen this advice in other cute drawing books, such as to make the head overly large and use round shapes, but there is a lot more teaching in this book than usual and I appreciate it.
There are about 30 animals profiled and this is the first book I’ve seen of it’s type that first shows a photo of the real subject and then shows how to break it down into shapes and refine it until you get the final cute animal. I’m not as big of a fan of the drawing techniques she uses (the popular method of creating shapes and then erasing as you go) and the finished cute animals weren’t exactly my aesthetic but I loved a lot about this book. There’s so much information and inspiration. It will make a great resource for kids or adults.
I read a temporary digital arc of this book for review.
