A little "House on the Cerulean Sea", A little "Practical Magic", and a whole lot of found family.

The cast of characters truly makes this novel shine. Each roommate is uniquely endearing in their way with varied enough personalities to feel distinct. There is a clear sense of magic in the air as every new person slots into place. Together they're building a better house, building a better home.
Truthfully the romance is where there is a slight stumble in my appreciation. The 3rd act breakup didn't feel convincing enough to me, but I appreciated that this didn't stop the secondary characters from interacting with the leads on the page.

Don't we all wish we lived in a whimsical purple house, where every roommate chips in? I certainly do.
A quick and entertaining read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

The Only Purple House in Town by Ann Aguirre is a heartwarming and magical story about finding oneself and a place to belong. The novel follows the journey of Iris Collins, the "chaos bunny" of her family who inherits a house from her great aunt, which she tries to turn into a bed and breakfast. However, things don't go as planned, and she ends up renting rooms to a group of lost souls, including some who aren't quite human.

Enter Eli Reese, a successful app designer who has never quite found a real community or people who understand him. When he reconnects with Iris, his childhood crush, he ends up renting one of her B&B rooms and becomes enchanted by the misfit boarders staying in the house.

The characters in The Only Purple House in Town are richly drawn, and their quirks and flaws make them all the more endearing. Aguirre's writing is whimsical and charming, and the magical elements of the story add an extra layer of enchantment.

Overall, The Only Purple House in Town is a delightful read that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. It's a story about love, acceptance, and finding one's place in the world, and it's sure to resonate with anyone who has ever felt like a misfit or outsider.

Ahh I didn’t realize that this was related to the fix-it series! What a surprise when I started to read this book! This book gives off fall vibes so I was excited to read it! I enjoyed reading this under a nice warm blanket with a cup of hot tea next to me. 5/5 cozy vibes. Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC!

This was adorable & such a cozy read!
My favorite part of this book was the found family. Found family is one of my personal favourites and it's super well done here. I loved seeing everyone come together and be a family of misfits.
The romance is sweet and heartwarming but not the main focus of the story. Iris was a lot of fun to read about. She's funny but endearing which makes her relatable.
I also loved that this was a spin-off of the Fix-It Witches series. I've missed that world and it was nice to step back into it.
The cover here is so cute and captures the story perfectly.

This is book 4 in the Fix-it Witches series. A definite stand alone, I didn't realize it was part of a series till I started writing my review. I will be finding the previous 3 very quickly. Fans of the paranormal will enjoy it with Shifters, Fae and vampires making appearances. Iris inherits her great aunt's home and decides to turn it into a boarding home. She meets Eli, a hawk shifter, and he's her first roomer. As more join the "family" the woman next door tries to get them evicted. I love this book. I can't believe I haven't read any of Ann Aguirre's previous works. Hope there are more added to the series.
