While I didn't enjoy Wilder's debut book, I was blown away by how much I adored ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ญ ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐บ ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐บ. This celebrity, second chance romance delivered on chaos of the industry, but also the complications of falling in love with a co-star.
Lilah and Shane reunite to carry out one last season for the hit TV show they met on 10 years ago. Due to a falling out that left their relationship in disarray, they attend counseling, hashing it out and finally addressing what went wrong in their previous relationship.
Lilah and Shane's story was well done and captured their development perfectly. In the beginning, they are often bickering and using insults as a form of defense mechanism. As they attend counseling, we see them become more vulnerable and learn to communicate without all the previous hostility. Their growth and communication really made this book and really exemplified how and why they loved each other so much. In turn, they become so in tuned with each other, constantly catching each other's eyes and trying to make the other one laugh. It was incredibly cute to read.
On top of that, Wilder has done as excellent job at weaving in the celebrity aspects to Lilah and Shane's relationship instead of sidelining it. This career they both share is how they met and how they fell apart - an important element that Wilder emphasizes and one I greatly appreciate. It felt full circle seeing them reconnect and fall back in love.
๐๐ช๐ญ๐ญ ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐บ ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐บ has easily become my new favorite celebrity romance! I'll definitely be picking up a physical copy when it comes out.
This novel is everything! Ava Wilderโs latest novel Will They or Wonโt They is romance novel perfection! A really good romance novel should have you feeling a large variety of emotions and boy did this gem deliver- laughing out loud, swooning, tears, and times your heart actually hurts (if youโre a true romance fan, you totally understand)! The storyline grabbed me from the beginning and consumed me until the last page! I loved this book so much that as soon as I finished I without a doubt knew I would be re-reading it in the very near future! This 5++++ star novel NEEDS to be at the very top of your summer reading list! I am so stinking excited to see what Ava Wilder comes up with next!
Ava Wilder has done it again! I loved her debut and this stunner sophomore follow up has solidified her as an auto-buy/one-click author for me.
The premise is two TV actors with sizzling chemistry are thrown together to film the final season of their hit TV showโฆthe one Lilah left unexpectedly.
The dual POV was utilized really well so the reader had a unique perspective and even at times more knowledge than the characters. I was practically feral for them to kiss!
As with her other book, the love scenes are hot! ๐ฅต Not to mention you really felt like you were on the set of a hit TV show. Wilder has such a way with details!
I highly recommend this book for romance lovers of character-driven stories set in Hollywood.
I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought. The chemistry was good and relationship was so sweet. I also loved the banter. Definitely recommend! Thanks to Netgalley & Dell for the E-Arc!
I love books set in Hollywood that write about the ins and outs of producing a TV show or movie. You could tell that the author researched and didn't just make up a glamorized version of Hollywood. The banter between the lead characters was quick-witted and genuine.
I was a bit confused when they originally broke up. The main character's reasoning was a little bit flighty and shallow. And just couldn't quite grass the reason and it wasn't until I was about maybe 60% of the book could I truly understand her issues?
Wow! This book was so interesting of a concept to me and the way Wilder brought these characters to life was amazing. Typically, Iโm more of a plot > character driven story person, but this story really held me!
I will say that it took me a long time to get through this just because there was so much emotional development for these MCs. It didnโt feel like something I could spend less than two days on. The middle was a little slower, which turned me off for a few chapters.
By about 60%, I was absolutely in love with the characters, their dynamic, their flaws, and the build of their relationship. The twist in the last chapter made my heart drop when I thought they wouldnโt end up together!! Absolutely phenomenal.
I enjoyed this more than How to Fake it in Hollywood and I did not think that was possible. I loved the relationship between the two main characters both in the present and the flashbacks. This kept my interest from the get go. Highly reccomend if you love an enemies to lovers book/second chance romcoms. I hope this turns into a movie!
This book solidified Ava Wilder as an auto-buy author for me. It hit the same notes as her previous book, but without being repetitive or reliant on the exact same tropes. A very, very fun story!
I love, love, loved this book!! I prefer my romances with a solid side of relatable characters I can empathize with and grow attached to, and I felt that way about Lilah and Shane. I appreciated and related to Lilah's struggles with anxiety and feeling scared to let people know the real, vulnerable sides of her. I too can become prickly and push people away when the anxiety and self doubt creep in.
This was a fun, sexy, quick read with characters I loved rooting for - 4.5/5 for me!
Definitely really liked this one! The tension is highhhh throughout and you can really feel the internal back and forth in the main characters. I do wish weโd gotten a bit more fleshed out back stories and more robust side characters, but the pacing was really good, and the writing was fun and funny without going over the top. Another Hollywood romance that really hit the spot for me.
Lilah and Shane have a complicated history. After costarring on a hit show for multiple seasons, Lilah leaves to (hopefully) become a movie star. For various reasons she ends up working with Shane again and the tensions run high.
I really did enjoy this book and the characters were likeable for the most part. Lilah's background left a bit too much to the imagination, or maybe I missed something? It just seemed like she was a bit too closed off based on what was told. Overall, I really enjoyed their dynamic and the story was sweet. While it did drag from about the 70%-85% marks, boy did that last bit get me. Definitely recommend.
This book was cute, but Iโm not big on back and forth. I like banter and a good buildup as much as the next person, but it felt a little like whiplash. Maybe Iโm just not well versed in the nuances of relationships but it just felt very stressful. The characters were great though, I loved getting to know them and love them on their journey back to each other. I also really appreciated the little details that were added in from Lilahโs pov, like realizing that when Shane wrote the buzzwords on his hand, he was helping her and not making fun of her.
WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY has made Ava Wilder an auto-read author for me. I really liked her debut, HOW TO FAKE IT IN HOLLYWOOD, but I think her sophomore release was even better. One of my favorite aspects of her romances are her spicy scenes -- I know everyone's tastes are different but Wilder writes hers in a way that hit just right for me personally, i.e. I actually find them hot and not at all cringe, which can be pretty rare. Beyond that, I love her characters and plots (she writes Hollywood very realistically, not overlooking the glamour of privilege even while exploring its pitfalls) and the writing is engaging and entertaining. In particular, I loved that she didn't fall back on the tropes she could have (second half misunderstanding the couple must overcome for the happily ever after) and in fact by skirting it actually wrote somewhat of a twist ending that felt very refreshing for the genre. Highly recommend both of her books for any contemporary romance fans out there!

This was ... meh. I was bored. It took me like a whole week to finish it, and I'm usually a book a day kind of person. I wasn't convinced by Shane and Lilah; I didn't feel any chemistry between them and the story felt totally flat. I felt like I was just reading words on a page rather than being immersed in a story which totally ruins the experience.

This may just be my new favorite celebrity romance book ๐ฅน๐๐ซถ๐ผ
This was a second chance lovers go enemies to lovers romance & wow was it AMAZING! ๐คฉ I loved the two MCs - Lilah and Shane - and thought that their relationship developed in a realistic way! ๐๐ผ
& there was some great tension between them ๐ฅต from the nude photo shoot scene, talk show appearances, therapy sessions, and a one-bed situation - I was very happy for them when they officially let themselves acknowledge their feelings for each other ๐ฅฐ
I was so nervous for the third act breakup bc I absolutely did not want the characters to have to go through that - & Ava did an amazing job of subverting it in a unique way! ๐ It made for the perfect HEA for Lilah and Shane ๐

similar to - but i think better than - how to fake it in hollywood. i love a good pine, an explosive relationship like lilah & shaneโs. i liked that they were working on a tv show with a long history, so that wilder could play up the connections between characters & the family aspect. a decently quick read for me (currently, at least) with a nice pace!

Lilah and Shane co-star in the popular, 9-season running show, Intangible, where they play a pair of star-crossed lovers. In real life however, they are now sworn enemies. After a falling out and failed romance with Shane, Lilah leaves the show only to return for the final season several years later. As their onscreen romance starts to heat back up so does their real life connection.
Another good read by Ava Wilder! I actually enjoyed her characters more than her previous book and it was very easy to connect with them. The story was well written and a quick read.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC!
I think itโs official. Ava Wilder is an auto-buy author for me.
I LOVED Ethan and Grey in How to Fake It in Hollywood. When an authorโs debut is so good itโs easy to worry that what they do next wonโt measure up, but thatโs not the case here. Lilah and Shane were witty and cruel and sweet and spicy and just pure fun to read. Shane is just straight sunshine and I loved seeing the strength in Lilahโs character, especially as a woman. From lovers to enemies to lovers, this was a solid read all the way around.
My only con was that it felt like Lilah was a little too dramatic sometimes and it felt like she could be extra mean for no reason. But I still loved her and would definitely recommend.

I received an ARC copy from netgallery for an honest review. All the opinions expressed in this review are mine and mine alone.
All I can say about this book is wow, wow, wow! These characters were so relatable and had me guessing if they were going to get together or not. The plot was so well developed and thought out, that it will keep you guessing until the very end! I laughed and I cried and I screamed, but this journey was so worth it! This is one book you need to read, so you can be as obsessed as me!
If you like lovers to enemies to lovers, then and now story lines, and celeb romance with some spice, this is the book for you! After reading Ava Wilder's last book I knew I had to read this one. Lilah and Shane were both former costars and lovers turned sour. With Lilah's character making a reappearance on the final season of the show Lilah and Shane are once again thrust into each others orbits. I loved seeing the push and pull between Lilah and Shane in both the then and now time lines. You really do get to see the growth of the characters over time.
Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Dell for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
