Okay my very first read by Ava and most definitely won’t be my last.

This book didn’t disappoint. If you love enemies-to-lovers then this is for you.

The banter between lilah and Shane had me laughing and smiling during my read. They battle insecurities and jealousy just as much as they try to fight their chemistry. The way Ava wrote the ending, really was the best!

I just love this trope- Secret lovers to enemies, then back to lovers! Will They or Won’t They was a fun, steamy read, and I loved the behind the scenes look into the TV world!

Ava Wilder is a hugely talented author and this novel is no different! She’s able to take complex relationships and both the complications and allure of celebrity to produce really compelling romance novels with a heavy does of real mental health struggles.

I really enjoyed the dynamic of Shane and Lilah finding each other, and the story intertwining of how they feel apart and how they come back together. I really loved that there was a heavy dose of couples therapy (while they weren’t a couple lol; for the sake of their co-stars) that really did help lead to some lightbulb moments for each of them.

A very compelling read with a good sprinkling of spice!

I absolutely loved How to Fake It In Hollywood so I could wait to read Will They or Won’t They! Long time co-stars who everyone is obsessed with secretly hate each other. They knew how to get under each other’s skin and press each other’s buttons. However, the network forced them to go to counseling together to work out their problems. This made them realize the mistakes they made in their past relationship. Overall, I loved the character development and their relationship was authentic. Thank you Net Galley for the e-book in exchange my my honest review.

Not a fan of this one. Lilah and Shane had some fiesty chemistry, which striked me as unauthentic and I just couldn't get past it. I found the MCs toxic and just so ridiculous, it was physically difficult to read this. Do not recommend.

This book is hate to love, angst, comedy and yearning. I was so invested in this love story. Highly recommend

I feel like I've been sitting on this review for absolute ages, but this book found me in my "give me all the slow burns" era and I absolutely love this journey for me. Very much a miscommunication trope along with a "right person, wrong time" backstory, and I thought it was great.

Will They or Won’t They
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Author: Ava Wilder

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Random House Publishing and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: Lilah Hunter and Shane McCarthy are madly in love— at least, their characters are. As the stars of the hit paranormal TV show Intangible, they spent years pining for each other on-screen… until Lilah ditched the show at the end of season five in hopes of becoming a film star. With no such luck, she’s back to film the much-hyped ninth and final season, in which their characters will get together at last.

But coming back means facing one of the biggest reasons she left: Shane. Ever since their secret behind-the-scenes fling imploded at the end of the first season, the two of them have despised each other.

Now back on set together for the first time in years, with the world’s eyes on them and their post-show careers on the line, they’ll have to grit their teeth and play nice. But under pressure to give Intangible’s fans the happy ending they’ve been waiting for, Lilah and Shane are forced to get closer than ever. And if they’re not careful, they just might get blindsided by one final twist: a real-life happy ending of their own.

My Thoughts: Lilah and Shane worked together on set for a movie for a few years when they were really young, they crashed and burned relatively soon, but continued working together for a few years. Lilah took a break and came back to film the final season. They have to learn to co-exist and work together. After some very angry moments, they begin to talk as friends. Realizing that they never got over each other but also not wanting the world in on their relationship, how do they manage the murky waters? This follows the tropes of enemies to lovers, second chance, and forced proximity.

The story is narrated by Lilah, in her perspective. Lilah is strong minded, set in her ways, and determined to hate Shane. Shane, on the other hand, deep down misses Lilah and is the first to turn the leaf to friendship. Together, they have this intense, angerish tension boiling into chemistry, amazing chemistry. Each had their own insecurities and troubled past that they struggled to let go, there was a tremendous amount of character growth for these two. I was completely invested and immersed into this story and rooted for Lilah and Shane from page one. The characters were well developed with depth, witty banter, chemistry, passion, and intriguing. The author’s writing style as complex, humorous, swoony, endearing, and brilliant.

This was a sweet, endearing story of two people coming back together, not by choice, to make a final season of a show. More character driven than plot driven, plenty of banter and swoon. I would recommend picking this up today.

I didn't think I could love WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY more than Ava Wilder's debut last year...but unsurprisingly she has done it again. So good, so steamy, so compelling! An auto-buy author for me for sure!

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I read "How to Fake It in Hollywood" and wasn't totally thrilled by it (I actually gave it 2 stars) but when I read the plot for this book I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed reading how these two characters found their ways back towards each other and it seemed believable. You could actually tell that they learned from their first time being together and what they needed to do so they could be together again.

Plus I'm a sucker for the Hollywood/celebrity angles in these books. 3.5 stars rounded up.

Will They or Won’t They was an easy, enjoyable read. Nothing super memorable about it but also just a fun summer weekend read.

Ava Wilder writes my favorite type of romance - celebrities This enemies to lovers/second chance romance was delight to read. Loved that it was set in a tv show. Love the tension and the flashbacks from when the relationship started.

I really loved Wilder's first novel, so I have to admit I was disappointed int Will They or Won't They. This one was missing the spark that her previous book had and I couldn't really find myself rooting for the couple to get together. Their relationship felt toxic at times and there was a lot of miscommunication, a trope I generally try to avoid. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me.

Thank you Penguin Random House and Netgalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Will They Or Won’t They is THE ultimate second chance, hate to love romance. I don’t think I have read a hate to love before where the characters truly HATED each other as much as these two did, which made it all the sweeter when SHane and LIlah do finally get together.

Wilder writes hollywood romance with a voice I have yet to hear in this niche and I don;t know exactly what it is about it, but it’s addicting. Shane and LIlah just feel so real, like they are actually there in person and I’m in the room watching this all go down. In a non-creepy-voyeuristic way of course.

Their banter, their chemistry, their vulnerability and reconciliation were addicting to watch. I also LOVED the couples therapy scenes! Such an ingenious way to force them to be vulnerable together and really get to the deepest recesses of their hearts and their complicated history. I couldn’t put it down while I was reading and the balance of heart wrenching pain to belly aching laughter to sweat inducing chemistry between them was perfect.

I can’t wait to see what Wilder brings us next

This was a fun ride! The development of the characters' relationship did feel quite believable, and I enjoyed the pop culture references. Some plotlines I thought would develop more, and it was a skosh too long but overall, another great read.

Once again Ava Wilder has another banger! I loved How to Fake It In Hollywood last year and was really looking forward to this one and did not disappoint! I really liked how this one was told from dual pov’s with dual timelines; it really helped bring the story together. I loved seeing how they met and how they fell apart and I liked that you had to keep reading to piece everything together.

The chemistry between Shane and Lilah was fantastic! I loved how their chemistry was still so palpable even when they “hated” each other!

I loved all of the behind the scenes talk that was featured in this book! I think the behind the scenes of tv is super interesting so I loved seeing it here. I loved Wilder’s insight on what actors go through after being on such a long running beloved show.

I listened to this on audio and both narrators were fantastic! I really loved the ending as well!

Overall, this was a 4.5 stars for me!

3.75⭐, 2🌶️

In this Hollywood inspired second chance romance, Lilah and Shane are back working together and pretending their fictional characters are in love. They used to have a relationship, but Lilah got scared and ended the relationship. I feel like while Lilah was detached from her emotions, as a reader I was still able to relate to her, as well as Shane. Its definitely a book you're ROOTING for the reunion trope to kick in. I loved the Then-and-Now storyline, and the book was overall nice, but I think How to Fake It was more my kind of read than this book.

SO, I alternated between reading and listening to this book, and my only issue with the narrated version was that one of the narrators gave Shane a THICK southern accent, and the other did not. It gave me whiplash and felt like there were two Shane's which I wasn't a fan of.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an eARC of Will They or Won't They by Ava Wilder. This is my honest, free review.

Second chance meets enemies to lovers? Alright, I can dig it. I'm not one for second chance but luckily the enemies to lovers really hooked me into this one. The banter between characters throughout was fabulous, characters aren't perfect and definitely flawed but not in an overly exaggerated way, and tense angst just oozing throughout.

This one seemed to captivate me so much that it ended and was shocked it went so quickly. My first Ava Wilder but not my last. This story was written in such a way that you're transported in the middle of the room with the characters and completely invested in what is happening. I wanted to get to know everyone and piece together what went 'wrong' originally so I could lend a hand in getting Lilah and Shane together.
