Tessa Bailey never lets me down!! I really enjoyed the first book in this series and Unfortunately Yours (book #2) is even better! This is an easy, fun read and I flew through it. August is super swoon worthy and masculine, a former veteran, and I just loved his character. The banter between him and Natalie was very entertaining, and they had so much chemistry. This book was a spicy one!!
Thank you, Net Galley, and Avon and Harper Voyager, for a copy in return of my honest review.
Unfortunately, Tessa Bailey is just not for me anymore. I liked Fix Her Up. I really enjoyed It Happened One Summer, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Window Shopping. All the others have either been a DNF or I've been disappointed I spent the time to finish them.
Unfortunately Yours, by Tessa Bailey, is a romance filled with banter and A LOT of SPICE. If you’ve read Tessa Bailey before, you know she is the queen of spice but this was a little too much spice even for me. Or, more specifically, the spice felt cringey.
I felt that the spicey dialogue overpowered the actual story. The book needed more character development, plot, not more crass sex talk.
I enjoyed Bailey’s books Hook, Line, and Sinker and It Happened One Summer, but Unfortunately Yours was a miss for me.
Thank you to Net Galley and Avon for the ARC!
4.5 ⭐️
I loved this book more than the first one. While I feel the first one had a lot going on, this title had more focus and direction. A bit more pining and more deeper dives into what drives these characters to love. August was giving big Noah from The Notebook vibes. I loved Natalie and August together; they complemented each other well!

4.5 stars! Pretty much perfect.
Fake engagement/marriage.
August at the cemetery talking to Sam is sob-inducing. August pretty much doing anything is pantie-melting.
Favorite lines:
“She as an ever-changing kaleidoscope he couldn’t seem to stop peering into.” - sweet
“Had her relationship with August been real, she’d be obligated to ovulate.” - LOL
“Let’s fuck shit up.” - I don’t even remember Hallie’s book but I love her anyway
“I feel like that with her. Like if we just get through the difficult shit, all the strain we went through to reach the other side … I’ll remember it like it was a joy, instead of being hard.” - omg I love him
This book was soooooo much better than the first book in the series. Characters were excellent. Loved Natalie & August. Fun dialogue. It’s pretty spicy🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Character growth as well. At the end it felt a little long but other than that it was a binge read. Paid for it with a 2am book hangover. Nice to zip through this one as I’ve been reading a lot of snoozers lately.
Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager, NetGalley, and Tessa Bailey for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
I’ll be honest, I went into this one hesitant as I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book in the series, but Unfortunately Yours, blew me away. As a lover of wine, I was excited about the setting and I loved every second of it. August and Natalie could not be more perfect for each other and reading their love story brought me so much joy. I loved their banter and hesitance to be truthful about their feelings for each other. I also loved that they didn’t have big huge fights that took up a considerable part of the book. They had arguments like a normal couple and were able to work through them and be stronger for it. It was truly lovely and I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested!
I lost my kindle and couldn't redownload it. Sorry!

This was a tough one for me to get through. I found the characters immature and annoying. Two stars was actually a gift. Although I will continue to read Tessa Bailey books as they are usually entertaining and fun to read, I think this one was a fail.
thank you for the advance copy.
Absolutely loved this book, great writing and the perfect tropes of enemies to lovers, he falls first and fake marriage
This book has all the good feels. A sexy marriage for convenience always makes for a good story. It was an overall fun and quick read. I enjoyed the characters in the book, they were relatable and welcoming. I would recommend.
Unfortunately this was as boring as the first one. The characters are undynamic and the plot doesn’t reel you in. I hope Baileys newer releases will fall more in line with my killer vacation and the Bellinger sisters
Thank you @tessabaileyisanauthor for once again getting me out of a reading slump, this time with some vineyard magic✨ Really enjoyed this one, can’t wait to see if there more coming in this series 👀 I was NOT expecting the epilogue to make me swoon more than some moments in the book but wow, it did 😍 Thx @avonbooks for the eARC 🙌🏻
I absolutely loved this book - which was surprising since I wasn't a big fan of the first one. August and Natalie were a delightful couple with fun banter, and the secondary characters (including the kitty!) were so fun.
Yes, this is some good, spicy romance!!!
Here is what to expect!! Don't let the cartoon cover fool you! lol
-Dislike to love
- Marriage of convenience
- He's a war veteran
- He falls first
- Witty banter
- Delicious smut
Personally I thought that this was another Tessa Bailey banger of a book. I love a marriage of convenience book with an HEA. The banter between these two goofballs was off the charts. And who doesn't like a dirty talking navy seal? Natalie has just been let go from her investment firm. She needs capital to start one of her own with a friend, but her inheritance has stipulations requiring her to be married before she can receive it. August is trying to make wine and failing horribly. He needs money, and Natalie and August plot to get married for the mutual financial benefits. They plan to split later, but you know our girl Tessa Bailey is gonna give you an HEA. So yeah... lol!
There are some serious moments in this book. There's also some excellent PTSD and mental health representation. August has experienced great loss and and has purchased a vineyard in memory of a friend who died in the line of duty. He's dealing with the memory of his friend and trying to make wine that isn't completely horrible. He eventually lets Natalie help with the production of the wine and they work through things together. There are so many goofy, sweet, serious, spicy, and emotional parts of this book.
My main lack of enjoyment of this story came from the characters themselves. Natalie isn't particularly special in any way. She's your basic run-of-the-mill heroine. And then there's August, who I found to be one of the biggest idiots of all time. So it was impossible for me to believe there was any kind of romance between such a dull princess and massive douche bro. Lust? Sure. I can believe that 100%. But not for one second did I see any kind of love between these two characters.
Which left me asking, what was even the point of this romance novel?
Unfortunately Yours was such a fun read that I read it in one sitting! I loved going back the world of wine that Tessa created! Like most of her books it is full of humor and real and relatable human emotions. Would expect nothing less from Tessa Bailey!
Tessa Bailey’s romance books are absolutely exquisite and this book was no exception. She writes with a deeply profound and insightful understanding and portrayal of people that never ceases to amaze me. Here too the storytelling skills are unparalleled; the romance exceptionally entertaining and had me enthralled through and through.
