Tessa Bailey's "Unfortunately Yours" is a scorching romance that flawlessly embraces the marriage of convenience trope, elevating it to new heights. This sequel surpasses its predecessor, delivering a witty and creative narrative that captivates from start to finish.

Natalie Vos, with her mirrorball-coded personality, is a breath of fresh air. Her bluntness, confidence, and radiant attitude make her a nuanced and layered character. The unapologetic way she roasts August at every turn adds a delightful dynamic to their relationship. The banter between them is nothing short of electric, keeping readers engaged and entertained. Natalie's character development, from her family relationships to finding her place in the world, is a refreshing journey.

August, a war veteran down bad for Natalie, is a swoon-worthy hero. His attentiveness, sensitivity, and adoration for Natalie are downright charming. The way he bows to her every whim, calling her princess and cooking for her, is endearing. The steamy scenes are not just spicy; they are jaw-dropping, proving that it's always the sunshine characters who surprise the most.

The love between Natalie and August feels alive, and their connection is palpable.

In addition to the central romance, Bailey skillfully weaves family dynamics, complicated relationships, and personal growth into the narrative. The pacing is impeccable, and the surprises at every turn keep the story engaging. The spicy scenes are not just hot but toe-curlingly satisfying.

Despite the familiarity of some romance tropes, Bailey manages to inject a fresh and invigorating energy into the narrative. The characters' communication and willingness to address challenges add depth to their love story.

"Unfortunately Yours" is a triumph for Tessa Bailey, showcasing her ability to craft a captivating and emotionally resonant romance. August and Natalie's story is a perfect balance of humor, passion, and heartfelt moments. If you're a fan of marriage of convenience, enemies-to-lovers, and steamy romance, this book is an absolute must-read. Tessa Bailey proves once again that she is a master of the genre, delivering a five-star experience that will leave readers wanting more.

I'm always thrilled for the next Tessa Bailey banger because I always feel her getting better and better, but the marriage of convenience trope just wasn't working for me with this voice/plot, so I DNF rather than get peeved with one of my favorite authors lol.

Another hit by Tessa Bailey! Just the right amount of spice with sweetness. Gives me all the good kinds of tingles. ;)

I think this was my favorite book in the series but I didn’t love it. I loved the banter between Natalie and August and I’m a sucker for a fake marriage trope but not my favorite of Tessa’s books!

Tessa Bailey always delivers a fun romantic comedy that has emotional, in depth characters and cute romance in a bite size novel.

Unfortunately Yours is no different, and is a comforting read to come into with your expectations ready to be met. August, our soft MMC, is the quintessential embodiment of an ex-Navy SEAL and a Golden Retriever of a man. It is no wonder he falls so fast and hard for Natalie, a feisty and strong-willed woman who just happens to have her life upended. Natalie is where the story shines for me. She's an incredibly relatable character that mirrors so many mental struggles that I internalize. August doesn't swoop in to save the day, but instead is a rock to lean on and someone to help Natalie feel seen with no expectations to live up to, a huge struggle for her with everyone else in her life.

Their passion for one another had me kicking my feet and wistfully sighing with each page flip, but I always find Tessa Bailey's men pure perfection. If I wasn't married, my standards would be too high for any man to ever meet, only growing higher with every release of hers. The character progression from the first page to the ending is emotional, but hope inspiring. Tessa makes you also feel seen, the August to our Natalie, and that you can overcome anything in life to blossom into your true self.

Thank you to Tessa Bailey and Avon for the ARC!

I would definitely recommend this book to another person. I love Tessa Baileys writing and this book immediately got me with the opening! It was absolutely hilarious!

I started this book and didn’t finish it though because I got married this year and now the stress of planning my wedding is making it hard for me to even read a book or watch a movie with weddings or a marriage of convenience trope. It constantly reminds me of my own wedding.

This is just a me problem though. There’s nothing wrong with this book that I would criticize.

If it wasn’t for that I would be more excited to finish it and give it 5 stars. I’d rather not force myself to finish it and leave a negative review on goodreads or TikTok because I love Tessa Bailey too much to do that !

Unfortunately Yours. My fellow readers. You guys, check the book out. I loved it. The writer did a good of keeping entertained. August and Natalie reminds me up kids on the playground playing dodgeball. It was battle of Will and battle of who wants it more. But the real battle was if the two would eventually be honest with their self and each other. The sensual chemistry and the sexual charge hormones bounced around these two like no other. I actually enjoyed reading a story that was funny and kinda of romantic. The plot was interesting. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book so much more than the first one. While some of the dialogue was a little "cringy" for me, I loved the banter between Natalie and August. The spice was plentiful and *chef's kiss.* Definitely a fav of Tessa Bailey.

This was an average romance book, but it's Tessa Bailey and the marriage of convenience trope so I don't see how I wasn't going to like this. And it's a good thing I did!! This book didn't really stand out to me in any way, but that's not really what I'm looking for when I read romance, so I'm not entirely judgmental about the lack of individuality. And the spice was just excellent. What did we expect though, it's Tessa Bailey and she never disappoints.

Enemies to lovers is always a fun romance trope to get lost in.

Natalie needs to marry someone quick and August needs to find a way to save his vineyard. Though they don't get along at first, they know there is an immediate attraction and they need each other to get to their goals.

Fun and flirty. This romance goes down smoothly.

let me tell you, Tessa Bailey knows how to hook you from the start. The plot is full of unexpected twists and turns that keep you on your toes. From hilarious mishaps to steamy moments, each chapter had me eagerly flipping the pages, dying to know what would happen next. But what truly makes this book shine are the characters. Natalie is such a relatable and lovable protagonist. She's navigating through her vulnerabilities, trying to find herself and her strength. And August, oh my goodness, he's the swoon-worthy hero we all dream of. He's got this hidden depth that slowly unravels, and the banter and chemistry between him and Natalie? Off the charts! What I loved about "Unfortunately Yours" is how it strikes the perfect balance between humor and emotional depth. Tessa Bailey pulls off these complex characters who face real struggles, all while delivering laugh-out-loud moments and heartwarming scenes. The romance between Natalie and August is so palpable, it practically jumps off the pages.

I enjoy Tessa Bailey books, and while this wasn't my favorite, it was still cute. I enjoyed the premise and the marriage of convenience plot. What I didn't like was the miscommunication. That's a trope that drives me crazy in a romance book!! I would recommend the book if you enjoy Tessa's books and can get past the miscommunication

What a fun story, entertaining from start to finish. Thank you for my copy in exchange for a review.

I love Tessa Bailey and many of her previous books, but both the books in the "A Vine Mess" series were not my favorites. I found Natalie in this book to be annoying and unrealistic. The story was fine, but nothing special. I did enjoy August's character, but I wasn't necessarily swooning. I think I just know that Tessa Bailey can and has done better.

Tessa Bailey writes it, I read it.

Her chemistry is always next level, and she always finds amazing ways to incorporate classic tropes but make them new, fun, and enjoyable.

Loving the "A Vine Mess" series, the characters, and the setting. This book has both enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience, and I ate it up! 4/5 Stars.

This one was cute, but I enjoyed the first one a bit better. It's steamy and the chemistry between the characters was off the charts. I liked the setting and the storyline and the wine. It was a little forced for me, the forced to get married part, but I do like a good enemies to lovers story and this one didn't disappoint.
