Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ebook. Its my first time reading this author. I liked it,
This book was very different from mu usual genre but it was absolutely gripping. I definitely didn't see the twist coming & I will definitely be looking for more books by this author
⭐️⭐️ 2 disappointing stars.
I’ve like previous books by this author but this one fell flat. It didn’t hook me in at all, none of the characters were likeable even the little boy Jack!!
The twist when it came, was such an anti climax. Not to mention an epilogue that came at about 80% - although I was relieved by that point that I’d nearly finished it.
Read one of her earlier books is my recommendation
a fast, easy read with unreliable narrators and surprising twists.. How well can one trust an overly helpful new friend? Why is a menacing man lurking around the neighbourhood and watching? The story is set in Sydney, Australia, but the stay-at-home mothers could be anywhere.
This book is filled with many twists. The plot felt very unbelievable. The characters are unreliable. Nevertheless it was quite entertaining
What a brilliant read. Thoroughly enjoyed this from the very beginning. Twists and turns and an ending you don’t see coming! The perfect recipe for a great thriller.
Highly recommended
Thank you Netgalley

A great thriller - I would recommend it! Nicole Trope always delivers!
Wow! That was amazing. What a whirlwind. So many things going on and a twist at every moment. The ending was amazing with yet another twist but tying up the whole book nicely. Every time I thought I knew what was happening I was thrown another curve ball.

Heavily pregnant Andrea and her husband Terry and young son Jack are forced to sell their home and belongings and move across town. Terry made some horrible decisions which cost them their home and comfortable lifestyle. New to the neighbourhood and very lonely, Andrea is grateful when Gabby, the neighbour across the street, befriends her. Gabby is married and a mother to teenage son Flynn. She runs an online parenting advice column and portrays such a competent and caring person. Andrea is so thankful for this new friendship, company and help with her young son, that she blindly trusts Gabby, ignoring several red flags. Sadly this mistake will cost Andrea.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
A fast paced thriller that I couldn’t put down. I got a peek into the characters’ minds which made the book very compelling. The final twist was a genuine surprise. I would definitely read more by this author.
Nicole Troupe did not disappoint with this book! I was hooked from page one! The twists, i so did not see coming. I would definitely recommend this book!
A brilliant written book, with lots of twists. Great for fans of psychological thrillers. Another great book buy this is author
Her son has gone and someone has posted a missing person poster on there website. Omg I have never been so invested in a book. And the bombshell well it's HUGE!
A gripping read, enjoyed all of the characters and the twists too. I;ve read a few books now by the author and she always seems to weave a compelling, gripping plot.
A brilliant psychological thriller
You will be hooked from the first page and not want to put it down
I certainly didn’t want this book to end
Thanks NetGalley
Firstly I have to say I loved this book, from the first page I was hooked and I read this in one sitting, as I just couldn't put it down.
The story is told from Andrea and Gabby's POV.
Andrea is married to Terry and they have a son Jack and another one on the way. They have just moved house and Andrea is tired and feeling vulnerable, she has a feeling her husband is keeping secrets from her.
Gabby is an older mother with a teenage son Flynn. She has a following on Social Media for her parenting advice.
The two women become friends and Gabby is keen to help Andrea and offer to babysit for her.
Both women have secrets!!!
I would definitely recommend reading this thrilling and unforgettable book.

Amazing!… Sooo many twists and surprises. Did not want to put it down but unfortunately work calls. Even carried on reading in my work break!
What an introduction to the writing of Nicole Trope. The-Stay-At-Home Mother was a phenomenal psychological thriller. An absolute mind twister that I loved it.

The Stay-At-Home Mother is told from the POV of both Gabby and Andrea. And I’m telling you one of them is an extremely unreliable narrator. I thought it was very unique that the story had two villains, although at first the reader is unaware of this fact. It’s very rare that a plot twist catches me off guard, but to happen twice in a book 🤯. Yes Nicole Trope caught me unawares not once but twice!
Plot twists, an unreliable narrator, secrets and lies, what more could one ask for in a psychological thriller. I absolutely loved The Stay-At-Home Mother. It’s the kind of book that keeps you wondering what happens to the characters once the story ends and hope that the author will write a sequel!
Many thanks to Bookouture, Netgalley and Nicole Trope for my arc in exchange for my honest review.
I rather liked it.
The book is about two Stay at Home Mothers, one has a teenage child, another has a little boy and is about to give birth to the second. I have a lot of acquaintances who are SAHMs and seeing the characters voice certain thoughts was interesting cuz that's what I also think being a SAHM would be like.
There's a bit of questioning the identity, coping with the older child going through "I don't like you" teenage stage, wondering "what's next?" when the children don't need you anymore. One of the mothers even has a popular facebook page where she shares her experience with other mothers and it felt very similar to the online circles I am in.
It's a thriller so it can't be without a dark twist and a "my husband may be doing smth bad" plotline, and what this book did was actually a bit unexpected for me, and I initially disliked it, but after finishing the book, I appreciate that it took me by surprise. I still think I'd like the book more if it took a more typical approach - I think I would appreciate it more for being realistic, but the plot twist wasn't bad, honestly.
An exciting domestic thriller - perfect for getting you out of a reading slump! I enjoyed the plot and how the characters were introduced to the story. A great read for the upcoming autumnal evenings.
