Yet another great read from this author.
The characters were well written and i was kept on my toe's throughout.
Twists and turns galore, when i thought i had it figured out i hadn't!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my early copy.
I highly recommend this book.

This is a solid mystery thriller with plenty of twists and troubled characters with plenty to hide. Heavily pregnant Andrea has moved to a sad house in a new neighbourhood with her husband and their three year old son, she becomes friendly with her new neighbour Gabby who is a bored stay at home mum who has a difficult relationship with her sixteen year old son. Things are far from what they seem in this and whilst I did start questioning things as the story progressed it certainly kept me on my toes and was really well plotted.

“The Stay-at-Home-Mother” is a thriller by Nicole Trope. This book began with a fantastic opening prologue that was a great hook into the book. It took me a while to realize that Andrea and Gabby, the two main characters, are neighbors in Australia (the prologue threw me for a few chapters). The book alternates between Andrea and Gabby POVs. Throw in an unreliable narrator, red herrings, clues, miscommunication, and social media and you’ve got a rather fun (though also kinda sad) book. While I figured out what was going on, the twist in the last chapter actually made me go “wha?” While I figured something larger was in play, I hadn’t figured on that level of detail … and it reminds me why I’m so wary about social media! A quick read and decently paced.

Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, and quite a few crazy twists that I did not see coming!! The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! I will definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

I read this fast-paced thriller in one day. This book is heavily plot-based yet the characters have enough backstory and depth that they don’t feel like caricatures or placeholders. The book goes back and forth between two points of view, Andrea’s and Gabby’s who live across the street from one another. Extremely early in the book there’s a hint of part of what’s to come. However, it’s not the full story. Combine one unreliable narrator (which one I will leave you to find out), red herrings, and clues and you’ve got yourself a fun ride of a book.

There were only a couple times I went “huh?” to myself. Once I felt a sentence spoken by an American wasn’t said the way an American would actually say it. The author is Australian and the book takes place there. Another time I noticed an inconsistency with a piece of paperwork that should have set alarm bells off but didn’t.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author also. Friends and family…who can be trusted? Secrets…The main character becomes friends with her neighbor who lies constantly. She trusts that neighbor with her little boy. What ensues is frightening…red herrings abound…no way did I guess the ending of this novel..this talented author has written a cannot put down book. It is difficult to.know what will happen. Ext. don’t Eve try to guess…I possible. Enjoy.
