This fast paced, multiple-POV story had me feeling like I was in an adult version of Gossip Girl. I love stories that include snarky, nosy neighbors, and the "anonymous" neighborhood app at the center of this novel delivers hard on that plot device. The chapters are short, and alternating through the women's POVs kept me totally hooked on unraveling what went wrong. It reminded me of Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda, but with its own more urban setting. Add this to your list for a fun thrill ride!
Oh my god!!!! Yesssss!!!! I loved it. Focusing on the lives of 3 Upper East Side women and the man that can unravel everything. . Full of twists and turns and a school admissions scandal.

No One Needs to know was utterly compulsive!!
Perfect for fans of Gossip Girl and those who love a look at the darker side of social media, this one will have you thinking about it once you’ve walked away!
Set in the Upper East Side, No One Needs To Know focuses on the parents of the privileged, UES private school kids. It was sexy, full of tension, and literally like the adult version of Gossip Girl (while having a *completely* different story line - this novel is hardly a love story😉)
I absolutely loved how the first page started with the mystery narrator noticing she’s listening for the sirens… throughout the book there are many references to sirens (hopefully intended by the author!), which made it very fun to “play along” and guess who was guilty!
A quick, easy, but compulsive read!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Bantam for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest opinion.
I really enjoyed this one. It was realistic and very timely. It was a bit of a slow start but it kept me intrigued. The characters were well written. I love when everyone has something to hide!!
I really enjoyed this new one by Lindsey Cameron. It was like The Real Housewives of New York City meets the celebrity college admissions scandal. Lots of drama involving Heather, Poppy, and Norah, who all live on the Upper West Side and find their lives upended when an anonymous message board is hacked. All their confessions are no longer secret and consequences for bad behavior must be faced.
This was not my typical read. And yet, at times, I felt as if I had read it before. If you liked Big Little Lies, you will like this one. It centers around a bunch of wealthy families and their school in the Upper East Side of New York City. There is a trail of gossip and backstabbing as the moms work to get their kids accepted into a future boarding school.
They also post on a new social media forum, Urban Myth, an app that allows people to post anonymously, and posts are only shared in a three-mile radius. Feeling comfortable, people post way too much information regularly. Of course, nothing is truly anonymous, and things go completely sideways when they figure it out.
There are three main POVs: Heather: A helicopter parent who will do anything for her daughter’s success. Poppy: A major bitch who rules the school. Norah: A businesswoman who is a little out of touch with what is happening.
I have to split this book into two parts. The first 70%, which I got bored and frustrated with – 2 stars. And the last 30% was really well-crafted and held a lot of surprises – 4 stars. In the beginning, the writing is very cliché and often cringe-worthy. None of the characters are likable, and it was hard for me to grasp the story. I don’t give up easily but almost did.
But as the plot thickened, the writing seemed to tighten up. It was actually better, and the twists were very well done. I didn’t see the ending coming at all, and I enjoyed the resolution immensely. So I’m going 3.5 stars for this one and might try another book from her.

Thank you NetGalley and Ms. Cameron for giving me the opportunity to review "No One Needs to Know." I found this book to be a fast read. Ms. Cameron quickly engages the reader and keeps them guessing on what will happen next. I would recommend to someone who wants an easy reading thriller.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.
Clear your calendar when you get ready to read this one because you will not be able to put it down! Ever wonder what the top part of society's 1/2% lives are like and the "issues" that they may have? Known as the UES (upper east side) of NYC, this is the story of the women that inhabit the opulent apartments, have the token child and then micromanage their child's societal futures!
Poppy - she is queen bee, married to Harris and wealthy enough to have a building at Harvard named after her family.
Gretchen - she is a queen bee wanna-bee who manages and trades in gossip.
Heather - an outsider from Jersey who is hell bent on getting her token into the life she felt cheated out of in society.
Norah - an insider since birth who does not fit the mold and has a husband thats disappeared!
All of these lives are intertwined at the posh private school their 8th graders attend and are competing for spots at boarding schools. Throw in the app, Urban Myth, where you can post anything anonymously...that is until its hacked! Throw in a murder, a couple of affairs and the juicy gossip and all you need is a bowl of popcorn!
Highly recommend!!!
Didn't finish because this book didn't live up to it's synopsis. Instead of killer neighborhood vibes, I received helicopter mom vibes worrying about daughters at a dance.
Everyone has something to hide even murder! Sounds good right?
This one was started off really great, lagged in the middle and ended with a plot twist I didn’t see coming. None of the characters are likable which is kind of the point and overall this is a page turner, but I wish it ended differently / juicer!
This was a very interesting read. For me it did start out slow but I think most thrillers do. Once you get 20 % in it picks up the pace and you won't want to put it down. The woman are definitely unlikeable characters but at the same time you enjoy watching their lives implode. This was a fun read to me and I would highly recommend this book. This was a first read for me by Lindsay Cameron so I can't wait to read more books by her.

The book was intriguing and kept me reading without distraction. I recommend this book to those who need a little thrill with a little chick lit. The characters are ones that you can recognize as people in today's world with today's problems. Looking for a good weekend book this might be your book.
Thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for the advanced reader's copy of this publication.
This book had an interesting premise… an anonymous online forum where the upper elite post their dirty, scandalous secrets… until someone hacks the website and their secrets are now public… and one of these millionaires are missing. This book is full of scandal, secrets, and mystery. I definitely did not see the end coming either. This is my first book by this author, and will not be my last.
Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of No One Needs to Know! I thought this was a fast paced thriller as I read it in about a day. It was fun to read about rich people having problems even though it’s not relatable to many as most can’t afford to pay 50k for kindergarten. With the description of this book I thought the hack was going to be the forefront of this book but it doesn’t happen til about 70%. I will say I didn’t care for the ‘twist’ of who the killer was and why. It kind of felt like a cop-out to make everything leading up to it just a red herring and try and make the twist ‘shocking’. Also I felt like there were no redeeming qualities to Bennett to get the reader to actually care. Overall I thought the book was fine but the ending just fell flat. Thank you again for the copy of No One Needs to Know!
"When an anonymous neighborhood forum gets hacked, the darkest secrets of New York's wealthiest residents come to light - including some worth killing for - in this gripping suspense novel from the author of Just One Look.
It was all confidential. Right up to the moment when it wasn't.
UrbanMyth: It was lauded as an alternative to the performative, show-your-best-self platforms - an anonymous discussion board grouped by zip code. The residents of Manhattan's exclusive Upper East Side disclosed it all, things they would never share with their friends or their spouses: secret bank accounts, steamy affairs, tidbits of juicy gossip. The same people who, as parents, go to astonishing lengths to ensure that their children gain admission to the most prestigious boarding schools and universities. So when a "hacktivist" group breaks into the forum and exposes the real identity of each poster, the repercussions echo down Park Avenue with a force that none could have anticipated.
And someone ends up dead.
Is the murderer Heather, the outsider who would do anything to get her daughter into the elite's good graces and into their even better schools? Norah, the high-powered executive failing to balance work with the emotional responsibilities of motherhood? Or Poppy, whose perfect-on-the-outside façade conceals more than her share of secrets?
Each of them has something to hide.
Each of them will do anything to keep secrets hidden.
And each of them just might kill to protect their own."
Seeing as I live for the gossip and fighting on my neighborhood Facebook group, this book was written for me!
This one directly jumps into the shenanigans of Upper east side mothers of private school kids and their games to get these kids into even fancier boarding schools by hook or crook. The things these mothers do and the extent they can go is just shocking. There is adultery, blackmail, gossip (ala gossip girls), death, and lots of lies including secrets. Though I kept reading, it definitely felt like a slow burn and the ending was just fine for me.
Thank you to netgalley for this e-ARC!
Whoa the DRAMA in this book!! Kind of a slow burn, but the drama filled pages kept me hooked. You knew something very bad was going to happen, but you just didn't know when.
I do imagine the rich and powerful are just like the characters in this book, who will do just about anything to get their kids into certain schools, or friend groups etc.
I could feel the stress and intensity these parents felt throughout and it made me very happy that I'm nothing like that!! But I love a good drama filled book!!
This was challenging to get through: the characters are unlikeable and it took me over half the book to get the names and relationships straight. This was largely because of how distracting it was that the book felt like Gossip Girl and Big Little Lies, amateur edition. The author is a lawyer and yet the ending felt so unbelievable.
7/10 - Gossip Girl meets Real Housewives. Someone in another review stated they thought this may have been inspired by the college admissions scandal, and I couldn’t agree more. This book definitely kept me drawn in from the beginning.
I do, however, have two complaints. My first is around the number of families there were to keep track of. It was hard at first to remember who was married to who, and which kid belonged to which set of parents. It definitely became easier to track as I kept reading though.
My second complaint is around the ending. It just fell flat for me, and there were some questions that never got answered.
Overall, I did really enjoy the book and would recommend to someone looking for a scandalous and drama filled read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam Books for sharing this digital copy in exchange for my honest review.
Oooh this sent me back to my college days where people within a geographic radius would post anonymously on a website “confessional” about all sorts of things (sordid and not). Imagine all those “anonymous” confessions are de-anonymized in the middle of a missing person investigation wrapped up with affairs and debts and boarding school admissions, oh my! Some of the issues were kind of trite (how relatable is it really to be vying for spots in a super-elite boarding school where the tuition is more than most people make in a year?) but the pace was quick and I didn’t see the ending coming and it all wrapped up just fine. I’d give it a 3.5 and round it up to 4. I wish we got to know the characters better or they were more likable (Norah was my favorite, Maya probably would’ve been if she had more chapters). That would’ve made it a true 4 star for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
