First I liked the design the colors and the pictures of this book.
I like it is full off recipes that I cannot wait to try like the strawberry banana chia smoothie bowl, the air fryer crispy chicken nuggets or buffalo roasted chickpea wraps. Recipes are simple and easy to follow, I like that some of them can be cooked using the airfryer and the cooking time is short.
I like the beginning with the advices for healthy leaving for working out and for setting for eating.
Upon picking up this book, I immediately thought that it was going to be another diet cookbook. I was so happy to find that this was so different. Yes there were recipes but it was also about changing mindsets. I am not a diet gal but I do believe in making better choices. So those mindset changes meant a lot to me.
Design wise this book is gorgeous. The pictures look yummy and full of color. Food is not the enemy. I love this book! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love, love, love this cookbook and self-help book!! In my forties I find that sometimes I lack the motivation I had when I was younger. Moreover, I find it difficult to find a lifestyle of eating and exercise that is tailored to my age and lifestyle. This book does just that. The plan is easy to follow and the recipes are delicious. I found it easy to pick a plan and make minimal changes with big results.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review the ARC for "The Sculpt Plan." First of all I love the aesthetic of the book with the layout and images. It so cute and girly! Upon further reading this more a fitness and lifestyle book that also has recipes. I like how there is multiple plans for varying Body mass indexes. I'm also glad that there is portion of the book that emphasizes exercise, eating and working out go hand in hand to lose weight.
There is a companion app and website to further your weight loss, but the app may not be available till publication. The website seems to be more a retailer for supplements. Overall this book provides a ton of informations and guides to turn your life around!
A good comprehensive book on exercise and diet. I would recommend for anyone to revisit the program they are using.
Thanks NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy of this publication.
The Scuplt Plan provides guidance on weight loss and how to eat to change your metabolism. I appreciate that first details all of the information you need to know to start your plan and cater it to your needs. The recipes are all modeled to fall under one of the 3 plans that the book explains. I think it's a good place to start but this isn't necessarily for everyone. I do appreciate as well that there is a section dedicated to maintaining your desired changes after they have occurred.
This book was a very common sense approach to being healthy through your diet. Beautiful pictures, lots of really interesting recipes, and a friendly tone throughout. I'm not really looking to lose weight, but I am always on the lookout for new, healthy and good looking recipes. This book ticked all the boxes!
Thank you Netgalley, Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds, and Fair Winds Press for the ARC!
I really liked the recipes featured in the final section of the book - how good does 'creamy tropical summer oatmeal' sound?! (If possible, it looks even better!). This book really takes a lot of the thought/planning out of weight loss, as according to how much/little weight a person wants to lose they are guided towards one of 3 'groups' - all groups have the same recipes, there are just tweaks differentiating each group. If you want a plan where the work is done for you 'The Sculp Plan' is a great choice.
Of course, it's not all about the diet, and this book features lifestyle considerations including exercise/movement. I was also pleased to see that maintenance considerations are also in there!
All in all, this is a book that stands out for me in this genre, as such I won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone with an interest in this area.
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
Beautifully presented, attention to detail was fantastic, lots of interesting information, and an incredibly approachable and friendly tone to the book, The recipes were varied and looked delicious. Super well put together!
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I'm not really the demographic for this book which influenced how I looked at it. I wasn't familiar with Anita Rincon before looking at this book but am always interested in ways to eat more vegetables and be more active so figured I'd check it out.
There's a chart in the early pages of the book that talks about recommended weights that I found shocking - it shows that the "recommended" weight for grown adult women can go down to 115 or even 100 pounds based on height. A lot of these recommendations are outdated and fail to account for various body types or other health indicators and using these numbers as a foundation left a bad taste in my mouth. The book also felt like it was giving mixed signals - it frequently talks about feeling good about your body, accepting yourself , and reframing the way you think about food, but also eating less calories and making your body smaller to live your best life. The book also acts as a guide to design your plan based around weight loss.
The book does take an everything in moderation approach so there are a variety of recipes in this book which is nice. It's just overall not for me.
A beautifully designed and intricately planned recipe and lifestyle book. A bit too complex for a beginner like me probably, but really enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Such a great companion and way not Ethan just a recipe book! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. I devoured it in an afternoon.
Recipes look simple, instructions are easy to follow and with beautiful photographs! The meals are actually things I want to try, not boring typical healthy food. So excited to try all the recipes as I have a wedding to shred for!!
I'm really looking forward to implementing this cookbook in my new healthier approach for 2023. It looks to have a lot of great guidelines and yummy recipes. Here's to a better 2023 for everyone!
A sensible life-plan book aimed at primarily at the US market - I like that this is not gimmicky so no faddish diets but it's also not revolutionary in any way: it basically says eat well by cooking from scratch, exercise moderately every day and keep it up so that you think of eating for life rather than a diet. There is a plan based on proportions of carbs, fat and veg but you choose all your own ingredients and produce to make the meal plan your own.
The recipes look delicious though I wish they all had a photo - measurements are in US cups as well as weight. One noticeable thing is that there's a whole section of weaning yourself off takeouts every day which, I think, is more a US thing than UK. Most recipes avoid sugar and substitute stevia which is a shame for those of us who dislike the taste but if you're not trying to lose weight, I'd add honey or maple syrup instead.
Apart from that, no food groups are disallowed so there are recipes for pasta, bread, noodles etc. with veggie and vegan options. This is all about the proportions so lots of filling up on healthy veg. The tone is lively and the book itself colourful and enticing. It may be best for someone who wants to eat healthily but doesn't really know how but I still enjoyed it for the recipes.
