Initially, this seemed like a story about grief. It then turned into more of a general memoir to me. With various life changes, changes in circumstance and jumping between timelines and main topics.
It felt a bit scattered and like too many ideas were trying to be fit into one book ( grief, loss, religion, mental health, family dynamics) which left me feeling like none of the topics were explored deeply enough.
It is a very vulnerable memoir and the sections on grief were both heartbreaking and relatable and my favourite parts of the book.
Thank you @netgalley for the eARC!

I felt for author Marilyn Kriete and all that she went through in her life and church, however it was a difficult read.
