Thank You to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the free ebook ARC.
This is a fast paced, easy to read, can't be put down read. The story is interesting, but some of it is so hard to believe because it is so over the top. Not a lot of suspense and thrills. The story is predictable and not that exciting. It is worth a read, but I think Harlan Coben has better books than this one.
This book intrigued me from the moment I read the synopsis and I decided to read it immediately upon receiving it. It was so good! I was instantly invested in everything that happened to David and as a mom of a toddler son my heart broke for the loss of his child. Reading about the things he did and the morally grey actions it took to complete the quest of potentially finding his child alive kept me on the edge of my seat and I stayed up way too late to finish it.
I Will Find You is a stand-alone thriller by one of my favorite authors, Harlan Coben. Is the storyline credible and plausible? No (especially the prison break). Is this a thrill ride? Yes. The story was fast-paced and engaging. It was suspenseful with twists and turns. I loved the pairing of FBI Special Agents Max and Sarah. They made a great team. I hope we see more of them in future books.
Thank you to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and Harlan Coben for a copy of "I Will Find You" in exchange of an honest review.
Harlan Coben's I Will Find You is a fast paced, high stakes novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat from page one. David - serving life in prison for the murder of his son - learns there is a chance his son might be alive. And after serving five years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, he's highly motivated escape prison, find his son, and clear his name once and for all. An ominous series of events leads David on a journey to uncover the truth about that horrible night - and with the assistance of his investigative journalist sister-in-law Rachel, there are no actions off limits as David's hunt for Matthew gets underway.
This book was such a ride. From the first page I was immediately invested in David's journey, and I was rooting for him as more and more details came out. Harlan Coben does an amazing job adding details and backstory into this action packed novel - as he moves the plot forward he expertly gives the reader context and information that help them figure out what's going on....until he throws you a curveball twist setting you back to square one. I found myself laughing at parts, anxious at others, and was extremely invested in David and Matthew's reuniting.
There's a reason Harlan Coben is an auto-buy in my house - he's a master storyteller and I could not recommend this book more.

I have yet to find a Harlan Coben book that I don’t love! The story line was so complex and interesting, it kept me guessing the entire time! The story focuses on a father that’s been in prison for five years for murdering his young son. He a always claimed his innocence but the evidence points to him. There are so many twists and turns and I thoroughly enjoyed not knowing what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes psychological thrillers, mysteries, or suspenseful books!
I'm a fan of Harlan Coben and his novels/TV adaptations, so I was very excited to get approval for this ARC. It is classic compelling Coben, but this one was slightly harder for me to dive into fully because of the subject matter of a murdered child. But it quickly turns, and nothing is as it seems.
David was once a father to a 3 year old son, before he is found guilty of murdering him. He is languishing in jail when he sees a photo which somehow seems to show his very own son. So he plans his escape from prison to find his son, clear his name, and find answers to this impossible and miraculous situation.
Fast paced with some very surprising moments, this is another great addition to Coben's list of titles.
It is startling what the human mind can justify. We all live via self-justification and self-rationalization.
For 5 years David Burroughs believed he killed his son. He doesn't remember that night but the evidence against him was strong. With his wife remarried, he accepts that he is prison until his sister-in-law Rachel comes to visit him. She shows a picture of friends and in the background is a picture of his son. Everything changes for him. He has hope and he knows he needs to find his son. The question becomes what child was in his son's bed and why.
This is action packed from early on. David's recollection of that terrible night, the evidence against him, how prison changed him and how Rachel helped to find his son. It becomes what a father will do for his son. How far he will go. What he finds out changes everything.
Coben is a master of the following the thread! Connecting the dots and making it hard to put the book down! Loved it.
A special thank you to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review
Any parent will say that the worst tragedy would be to lose a child. David Burroughs not only lost his son Matthew, but then was arrested and imprisoned for the murder. Five years later, his (ex) sister-in-law brings a photograph to the prison and they are both convinced the child is Matthew. With the help of his own godfather, David is able to 'escape' the prison and start his search.
This book has many twists and turns, as one expects from Harlan Coben (with a spectacular twist toward the end!). Excellent thriller. 4.5 stars
Like most books from Harlan Coben, there is a level of Suspension of Disbelief, but once you get past that, it is fabulous and well written. Loved the action packed nature of this and the suspension was killing me.
The story was fast paced and very exciting. It kept my interest from the beginning to the very last page and it was hard to put down. I loved the twists and turns and surprises at et every corner!! Highly recommend!!
Whew! This book is ACTION PACKED! You’re gonna get whip lash and love every second of it. There is always something going on and something to question. Page turner for sure!
Harlan Coben's highly anticipated new book is set to release next week, and it promised to be a gripping read. The story revolves around a parent's worst nightmare - the loss of a child. David, the father of three-year-old Matthew, is accused and convicted of his son's murder, and is now serving time in prison. Despite his claims of innocence, David accepts his punishment, because the way he sees it, he is at fault because he didn't protect Matthew.
"I Will Find You" is a heart-wrenching tale, especially when David is given a glimmer of hope that his son may still be alive. What follows is a thrilling game of cat and mouse as he evades law enforcement to unravel the mystery of that fateful night. With nice sized chapters it was easy to say, JustOneMoreChapter (pun intended), in fact I read this in a matter of days. There were parts of the book I needed to see how the author was going to pull it off and he did (as usual).
A well written suspenseful story that would be a perfect fit for anyone who loves a good mystery.
My thanks to Grand Central Publishing for a digital arc in exchange for a honest review.

David is five years into a life sentence for killing his 3 year old son when is ex-sister-in-law shows him a picture. In the background of a smiling family is his son— older and very much alive.
I’ve loved Coben ever since I discovered him while in college. His thrillers are complex and always well thought out. This one is no exception. Coben’s take on the fugitive storyline works in every way. You feel for David but also understand his desperation. The POV changes, allowing the reader to see the story from multiple angles, fleshing out this world. If you are a fan of thrillers, this is a good solid one!
I received a free ARC ebook of I Will Find You from NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.
Harlan Coben certainly knows how to maintain tension throughout a novel. David Burroughs is in prison for the murder of his young son. He is devoid of hope, even in his innocence, because there is no point to life with his son dead. But what if the child, Matthew, is still alive? And, how does an imprisoned man find out the truth?
David has some unlikely allies. His former sister-in-law, his godfather (the prison warden), and a slew of childhood buddies who risk much for him.
This novel proceeds at breakneck speed. Be prepared to ignore everything and everyone so you can read till the end.
Fascinating, engaging, heart-pounding, and very thriller-y!! The writing is simply phenomenal and so very well thought out. If you are willing to suspend belief and stop eye rolling regarding how some of this plays out, then you are going to 5 star enjoy the heck out of this one. This is actually a 4.5 star read for me, and I'm torn between rounding up or rounding down. Does the writing make up for some of the contrived plot twists? Yeah, I think it truly does. So 5 stars it is!!!
WOW! What a great opening statement...way to catch my attention and then proceed to keep it. Of course, Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors. The story was a fast read for me and I enjoyed the quick mentions of Win and Hester Crimstein, characters from other books. Cheryl and David, along with their three year old, Matthew are a family until something happens to Matthew (no spoilers). David is blamed and spends the next five years in jail, until a photo suddenly changes everything. The exchanges between FBI agents Max and Sarah were cute, but annoying. I would not like to have them questioning me. All in all, another great book!
What can you say about a novel that opens with the sentence, "I am serving the fifth year of a life sentence for murdering my own child."? The child in question was the lead character's beloved 3-year-old son, Matthew, who was found in his crib, brutally beaten to death with a baseball bat. The prisoner, David, has no memory of committing this act, was served divorce papers from his wife while imprisoned, and is now serving his life sentence in a super-max prison in protective custody after nearly being beaten to death in the prison yard by four other prisoners. He's hasn't seen or wanted to see a single visitor during those 5 years, but he's about to, and that will change everything, and will send you and him on a chase through a maze of questions and clues, family, secondary characters and criminals, secrets and lies, death and discoveries that will have you wide-eyed late into the night. This novel gets 5 stars from this reader.
I'll admit it--I've been reading Harlan Coben novels since picking up a copy of Tell No One in 2001, a novel I couldn't put down and read in one sitting until dawn. There are just a few writers of crime fiction/thrillers/mysteries who always seem to grab you from the very start and never let go, and Harlan Coben is one of those authors. While I've thoroughly enjoyed his Myron Bolitar series, in this reader's opinion, nothing compares to Mr. Coben's standalone novels, and I Will Find You is one of them. I can't tell you any more about the plot of this novel without giving away the many surprises and shocking revelations that await you. All I can do is tell you to get your hands on a copy of this novel, get comfortable, and prepare for one heck of a read that will quite simply blow your mind. Yes, it is really that good.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions stated are my own.
Whew! What a ride.
Oh sure, there's a few things I could complain about-- the premise sitting on a MASSIVE coincidence, a flimsy excuse for going rogue instead of contacting an attorney, yada yada... but who cares?! This is a cracktastic unputdownable game of cat-and-mouse.
I'm going to spare you a plot summary because a) you can easily find one if you wish and b) I went into this knowing absolutely nothing and I had such a great time experiencing it all. It's just a super compelling action thriller that moves between a man wrongly convicted of killing his three-year-old son and the FBI agents on his tail.
Hard to believe it was 400 pages because it was so fast-paced that it felt really short. David was a great narrator-- a rough-around-the-edges father who is desperate to discover the truth about what happened to his son. The fact that the FBI agents are always breathing down his neck kept the tension high and the thrills coming.
I can’t wait for this to show up on Netflix.
The king of thrillers/mysteries has done it again. I loved all the twists and turns of this one. Just as I thought I had it figured out, another shoe dropped. I loved how some favorite characters were in this novel as well.
Fast paced thriller, I Will Find You kept me entertained from start to finish, but it took a lot of suspended belief to get through it.
David was convicted of killing his son five years ago. After receiving his first visitor in five years, David starts planning his escape.
The plot was easy to follow despite it being over the top and outlandish. The ah-ha at the end wasn’t that surprising and could have used less foreshadowing. It hits like a lead pipe.
This is my first by the author and I’d probably read more. Thank you to Grand Central Press for giving me access to this ARC.
