Yet another home run thriller from Harlan Coben! I Will Find You has all the hallmarks of a Coben novel, a lightning fast pace that grabs you from the very first sentence, so many twists that keep you guessing and characters that you actually care about. I loved this book so much!
This might be Harlan Coben's best book to date. What a rollercoaster this story was - I was at the edge of my seat, routing for David Burroughs in his search for Matthew.
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read and review this ARC.
I Will Find You by Harlan Coben has left me with mixed feelings. I’ve always loved his books and I did enjoy this one. However, there were some sticking points for me. The story was fast paced and twisty and I wanted to know what was going to happen but it was just so far-fetched. I don’t mind suspending a little disbelief but it kept getting harder and harder to do that. The resolution wrapped up way too easily. Overall, Coben has written too many good books to let this stop him from staying an auto-buy author for me. Fingers crossed, I can connect with the next one better!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am a big Harlan Coben fan and was so excited to read this book! If you've read his books before, you know how he crafts great thrillers, even if sometimes they are over the top. This was a wild ride!
David Burroughs is in prison for murdering his son. He doesn't remember killing his son and believes he must have been in a fugue state or something when it happened. Now, his sister-in-law comes to see him with a picture she saw that has a child in it that looks just like Matthew. David knows he must break out of prison to save his son and clear his own name.
An OTT thriller that requires some suspension of disbelief, but a great page-turner!
Although (like all Coben books to date) this was extremely readable, it lacked a very convincing plot or drama. However with just a hint of "Myron" in the characters, it still held my attention and I was eager to find the ending. Some characters seemed almost wasted in their small roles (i.e., Max - Special Agent), but hopefully we will meet them again in future Coben series.
Loved this one! I was intrigued by the synopsis and the story was even better than expected. I was hooked from the beginning and enjoyed all the twists and turns. This is my first from this author and I will definitely read more.
I Will Find You is a standalone thriller from Harlan Coben.
"David Burroughs has been in prison for five years for killing his own son. He can't remember doing it and wonders what happened. His sister-in-law shows up for visitation with startling evidence that his son is still alive - a photo at a theme park. Now David must find a way to do the impossible - escape from prison, find his son and clear his name."
Wow - another great story from Coben. I'm out of breath watching HC get David out the impossible situations he puts him through. This is a shorter book than usual from Coben so it's an extremely quick read especially with his usual fast-paced narrative. There are plenty of twists in this one - and most you won't see coming. I loved the implied Win cameo.
This book is the perfect beach thriller. Coben fans will love it. And if you haven't read Coben this is a great start. More great fiction from HC.
As always, Harlan Coben comes up with one captivating plot line. From the minute I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read this book. Parts of this novel were a little slow for me and plot wise, not everything needed to be in this book. I despised Max and Sarah’s characters and going out very hard to read the sections they were in. I’m also kind of bummed that Cheryl was such a crappy wife to David. I am just very thankful that Matthew did end up being David’s son.
All and all, this was a good read. I would recommend it for RA and purchase for my library. Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced copy in return for my honest review.
I don't think there is anyone else who quite writes a story like Harlan Coben. Every character is unique, every story tells a different tale. He truly never falters for original material.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of "I Will Find You" by Harlan Coben. This book grabbed my attention from page one and held my attention for the entire book. It was fast paced and suspenseful. Some reviewers might say that it was too difficult to suspend disbelief, but it didn't keep me from enjoying this one.
Wow this book will keep you guessing! Although not the most believable story (who wants fiction to be believable anyways!?) it is a fast paced read that will have you clinging onto every word. David Burroughs is serving time in prison for the murder of his three year old son. He believes he is innocent but accepts his fate as punishment for failing to protect his son...until his first visitor in five years shows up and turns his world upside down.
I am a huge Harlen Coben fan and this book continues to be as good, if not better, than his previous. The book is a tense ride of ups and downs that will keep you reading until the very end. The book would be 5 stars, if not for the two FBI agent characters, whose supposedly "witty" banter was more irritating and over the top than funny. With the exception of those two characters, the rest of the book is delightfully suspenseful and easy to read. Highly recommend to anyone who loves action or thrillers!
"An innocent father serving life for the murder of his own son receives evidence that his child may still be alive, and must break out of prison to find out the truth in #1 New York Times bestselling author Harlan Coben’s latest breathtaking thriller."
Wowee what a crazy ride. Absolutely necessary to suspend disbelief in order to get into this one but it’s so worth it.
I loved the relationships in this book - between Max & Sarah; David & Rachel; Phillip & Lenny. I felt the storyline was a bit predictable, esp with the red herrings, but I enjoyed the journey nonetheless. A bit like a crazy car chase in an action packed movie that's over the top but also fun. Harlen Coben is so skilled at intricately weaving a story. Don’t even get me started on Hester Crimstein making an appearance from the Wilde series - love her.
I'm going to leave you with my favorite quote: "Ross, who was handsome in a Ralph Lauren–ad way, had murdered at least seventeen people—men, women, children of all ages—and eaten their intestinal tracts. That was it. Just the intestinal tract. Body parts were found in a top-of-the-line Sub-Zero freezer in the basement of his family estate."
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the chance to read and review. If you're a fan of HC or any of the Netflix adaptations of his books, pick this one up on 3/14/23!
I think this is the best book Harlan Coben has written in a few years. I couldn't pick a favorite, but this one was up there on my list. Yes, it is pretty far-fetched, but just let that go and enjoy the ride. (It used to really bother me when characters would get beaten up 4 times in two days and continue to sprint through parking lots and jump out of windows, but just like in an action movie...it's much more fun if you can let it go.)
It was suspenseful and full of characters I cared about. There was a mystery that could have gone in a few different directions. I stayed up way later than a reasonable person (with work the next day) should...just so I could find out how it would play out. Always the mark of a good book!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the advanced reader's copy.

This is my first book by Harlan Coben, it was a quick fast paced read, but I couldn't get into the story line or plot.
Harlan Coben has always been a good mystery/suspense writer. In his latest book, "I Will Find You" he has proven that he is the master of the genre. It was a book I couldn't put down from start to finish. A stay up all night and read thriller. The book is about David, a man who is imprisoned for the murder of his son. David is not well. He has given up on life because of the loss of his son, unable to defend himself for the murder that has devastated his life, his marriage, and his damaged psyche. A visit by his former sister-in-law changes all that. She has a vague image of a boy that resembles what his son would look like now and she is convinced that he is alive. After seeing the photo, David is too. In a series of events, David sets out to find out what really happened to his son, if he is still alive, and if so how he can get him back. But first, he has to get out of prison. So the story begins. It is chocked full of rich characters intertwined in several backstories that are gradually revealed until the truth emerges. Coben is able to involve the reader in the emotional trauma of the characters while giving away the story in small bits and pieces keeping the reader constantly engaged in this blockbuster thriller. I absolutely loved this story. Thanks, Harlan Coben for a great story! Thanks to #NetGalley#IWillFindYou for the opportunity to read and review this thriller that is the best of 2023!
It's no secret that I'm a fan of Harlan Coben, and this book is another reason why! It started off a little darker and more gruesome than a typical Coben, but then a quick humorous FBI tag team was thrown in throwing me off balance. A very fast paced book and if you accept a smidge of unreality, you'll be rewarded with a nice twist with a twist for an ending!
David Burroughs is five years into serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison after being convicted of killing his three year old son. He knows he didn't do it, but it happened while he was asleep just down the hall - so is it possible that he did? Either way, he's burdened with the guilt of not protecting his son so has given up any fight for himself or any interest in the lives of his loved ones outside of prison....until his ex-sister-in-law visits him. She shows him a photograph taken by a friend on vacation. In the background is a young boy who looks eerily like Matthew, David's son. It's enough to bring life back to David as he plans an impossible escape to find his son, clear his name and find out what really happened that fateful night. The police and FBI are close on his tail, and they aren't the only ones who want to stop him.
Thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for my e-book.
Harlan Coben is a great writer of crime, mystery, and thriller novels. His latest novel, I Will Find You, is another huge hit. I Will Find You is a rolling punch of characters, crime, mystery, love, and adventure all rolled into one great novel. The novel was full of fun and sometimes tense suspense so much that I had to put the down for a minute and catch my breath! I have seen several reviews that stated that the plot borders on disbelief, but COME ON...it is fiction, and great fiction at that! Think Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible! I Will Find You is a roller coaster of a ride and not to be missed.
This book was great! I couldn't put it down! The premise was fresh and new, which is hard for me to say as I read so much each year! Sometimes it feels as though I keep reading similar stories, but this was a so original!
My favorite Harlan Coben book so far! This books grabs you in the first chapter and doesn't let go. David is serving a life sentence for the death of his son and receives information that points to the very real possibility of his son being alive. Not to spoil anything for you but expect deceit, a mob family, family relationships, and more. Just buy it! 4.5 stars
Another winner from this author. Love the fast paced thrillers he writes, and this was no exception. David was such an interesting character, the convicted child murderer. I love how his story progresses through this book. I can’t say much, as I don’t want to give anything away. I cannot wait for this author’s next book!
