Harlan Coben's newest release, I Will Find You, challenges readers to believe that David did not kill his son Matthew. David even begins the story telling us that he is innocent but still spends his life in prison for his crime. Throughout the novel we see David go through whatever it takes to find his son, even if that means putting extra time onto his prison sentence. From the beginning, you don't know who to trust or what is happening. Is David innocent? If so, who killed Matthew? If Matthew isn't dead, then who is? I Will Find You will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first line.

This novel completely blew me away. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I was completely wrong. I was rooting for David the entire time and was hoping for a happy ending (you'll have to read to find out). This novel loses one star due to two characters in the book. They play a good-cop-bad-cop duo and it's humorous at first until it becomes overkill and extremely annoying. Every time these characters would come up, I would cringe because it was just THAT awkward. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it made a huge difference in my perception of the novel. Other than those scenes, I thoroughly enjoyed I Will Find You and cannot wait to add more Harlan Coben to my list!

Buckle up!

I have read most of Harlan Coben's books, avoiding the Bolitar series only because I'm not a sports fan.

When you begin "I Will Find You", you'd best buckle up! And forget the roller-coaster ride; that's too tame to describe the speed with which Coben grabs you from page one.

We meet the main character, David Burroughs, during his fifth year in prison. We feel his pain, anger, and frustration and then cheer him on as he plots his escape. I won't go into great detail lest I include spoilers. I immediately sympathized with David, despite the horrendous nature of his crime. The characters comprising his support system become very real early on in the story and the FBI agents chasing him extremely annoying!

This book is tight with every word advancing the plot and, in typical Coben fashion, there are twists and turns aplenty. The ending was satisfying with all my questions answered. Thank goodness Coben doesn't subscribe to the current madness so many authors seem to embrace of feeling he must leave us wanting more. Translation: "You must buy my next book if you want to know what happens next."

I was surprised to see a few grammatical errors in "I Will Find You", which I have never before noticed in this author's books. There weren't enough to be distracting, but just enough to cause a little blip in my consciousness as a I read.

If you enjoy adventure thrillers, you will love "I Will Find You".

If you've read anything by Harlan Coben, you know he is the master of the last minute twist, the one you never see coming. Maybe because I've come to expect that, I felt a little disappointed with this one. There is a lot, and I mean A LOT, of coincidence here. You'll need quite a bit of suspension of disbelief to get through this story, especially the prison scenes.

That said, I liked the main characters, and I wanted to see them vindicated. There are some nice action scenes, and I wanted the villains to get what was coming to them. As an aside, I want to see Win and Nick battle.

This was an okay read. Not family friendly due to adult themes and violence.

Phenomenal read! The opening line hooked me and the fast paced story line keep me reading and invested in the ending. I especially appreciated the digs at the wealthy and the injustice of our justice system; the humor regarding these topics kept the narrative light but the deeper meaning was well received! A novel that has a great storyline but is also socially conscience makes for a 5 star read!

This is my second book by Harlan (the first was The Woods). Once I read the summary, I was so excited to read it (such an interesting concept).
This book is definitely a slow burn, but I was completely invested and didn't get bored. I loved the characters and was rooting for David because his personality is so funny. I literally laughed out loud a few times. A great read!

Thank you Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC!
David Burroughs has been in prison for five years for the murder of his son, Matthew, three. He didn’t do it but who did? What follows is a gripping tale of lies, betrayal and the desperate attempts to find the truth. Coben is in his element with this new book. He takes an ordinary man and turns his life from normal to a nightmare. With layers and layers of truth, lies, love and resilience, I devoured this novel and did not want it to end. Highly recommend!

I have seen several adaptations of this author's books on Netflix and have loved them, so I was eager to actually read one of his books. What a thrill ride! Although the characters were terribly flawed, I couldn't help but root for them!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the chance to read and review.

Once again Harlan has done it! A great story you will not want to put down until you find out what happens. It’s a thriller, there’s some humor and Hester makes an appearance! What more could you want!! Four and a half stars!

I Will Find You
By Edgar Award winning NYT Best Selling Author Harlan Coben
Hardback is 336 pages and published by Grand Central Publishing
Presented in audio format by Brilliance Audio with run time of 10:16 and performed by Steven Weber.

I Will Find You has a release date of March 14, of 23.

The prerelease copy was the pdf version only, so my review will be based exclusively on the written word and not Weber’s performance.

This is my first Harlan Coben novel. Prior to this I only knew his work via his respected reputation.

We meet David Burroughs—our lead and narrator—the day he gets a surprise visit from his former sister-in-law, whom he has not seen or spoken with since he went to prison for murdering Mathew—his son, her nephew. She puts a photo against the glass of the boy holding the hand of a man – who is just out of focus – at Six Flags. But, here’s the thing, the photo was taken long after Mathew was supposedly murdered.

Due to plot devices that are a bit spoiler based, David’s only option is to escape and prove his innocence without hesitation or doubt—something he failed to do five years earlier.

That is when us, the reader, joins David through a suspense filled tale that has many twists, turns, and tension-based confrontations. Some of these encounters and turns ring true and clever. Some of them read as eye roll inducing.

The supporting characters are mostly fantastic. I would totally be interested in reading a book or series of books based on Warden Mackenzie set in the 70s. Yes, Harlan, Warden Mackenzie is an exceptionally dynamic character. Please give us a prequel featuring him, Lenny, Ruth, Sophie, and of course…Nicky.

The FBI agents on David’s tale are intriguing, quirky, and driven. They will seem a bit family to many.

The first two thirds of the novel, which is self-aware of its inspiration from both The Fugitive and The Count of Monte Cristo is borderline superb. And if it wasn’t aware of its roots in such tales, it would not be as quality. The back third isn’t as deftly executed or as well painted. All in all, it concludes in a fashion I did not quite buy. However, it is a good, tense, and highly entertaining read.

I give I Will Find You by Harlan Coben a B+.

David Burroughs is serving life in prison for the brutal murder of his son. He has no idea if he actually committed the crime, as he was asleep when it happened but just knowing his son is dead took any fight right out of David. He withdrew from his wife, his family and friends, and gave up on living. Now, five years later, his wife has remarried but her sister shows up to visit David with a photo of his son. Even though it makes no sense, they just KNOW it is him in the photo. Could he still be alive? And if he is, why has someone set David up for his murder?

I think the best way to describe this mystery is an emotional roller coaster. David’s pain broke my heart, and the desperation he felt to do anything to find his child resonated with me (as I’m sure it would with any parent). There is nothing a parent wouldn’t do to keep their child safe. As David fought his way back to his son, I found myself cheering him on while wondering why anyone would set him up like this. It seemed like just when he was getting close to figuring out why this was happening, another twist threw him (and me!) off track. This was my first Harlan Coben book and won’t be the last! Thank you to Netgalley, Harlan Coben and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC. “I Will Find You” released March 14th.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FIVE STARS This book was an easy five stars! Reading this book reminded me of watching one of the TAKEN movies with LIAM NEESON. Now that I think about it, Liam NEESON would make a great Davis Burroughs in a movie adaptation of I WILL FIND YOU.

Ok where do I even begin?! First I have to say that this book started off slow. I find that HARLAN COBEN’S characters tend to talk a lot, and give a lot of backstory. It can seem a bit like rambling at times. Stay with it though! It’s always worth it!

David Burroughs first words to reader are that his son is dead, he’s in prison for the crime, but that he DIDN’T DO IT. I won’t spoil anything because as is the case with books like this, who knows right? He could be innocent, but maybe not.

David’s sister comes to see him in prison (his first and only visitor in the five years he’s been incarcerated) and shows him a picture of what appears to be his son Matthew. Only Matthew is dead. What ensues is a game of cat and mouse as David races against time to find out what really happened to his son with the police hot on his trail.

I won’t say more because I don’t want to give anything away. Add this to your TBR and PRE-ORDER now. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. Thank you HARLAN COBEN for another HIT!

This was my first Harlen Coben novel, but certainly not my last.

David Burroughs has been in prison for the past 5 years for killing his 3 year old son. Although David has no recollection of doing this, the evidence is stacked against him. Until his ex-sister-in-law comes to visit. She shows him a picture and in the background he spots his son Matthew. The rest of the novel is non-stop action to prove he is innocent and his son is alive. The storyline had a couple of plot points that really aren’t totally possible but the master storytelling by Cohan makes you buy into it hook, line, and sinker.

Overall, this is a very engrossing read that you won’t want to put down.

Huge thanks to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for sending me this ARC for review!

A page-turning thriller at its finest!

In Harlan Coben’s newest psychological suspense novel I Will Find You, David Burroughs is five years into a life sentence for brutality murdering his three year old son – something he doesn’t have any recollection of doing, but the evidence was stacked against him. However, when David’s ex- sister-in-law Rachel comes to visit him in prison, bringing in a recent photo of friends, with what appears to be Matthew, his son, in the background – David knows he was set up. Now on a quest to break out of prison and find his son, there is nothing a father won’t do for his son.

I will always read everything by Coben and you should too! My dad introduced me to his books twenty years ago – and I was so happy to tell him I received this ARC! Coben is an amazing author who never disappoints; his stories take you on a ride and you are never sure where the twists will take you – but they are always worth the destination (and the read!).

A lot of stars aligned for David, making some (most) of the storylines or narrow escapes a tad unbelievable, but I thoroughly enjoyed the chaos that ensued in his pursuit to find his son. This is a fast read, and just like Flynn and Child, Coben pulls you in and you have no choice but race to the end. I do feel like some parts could have been fleshed out more, but understanding that David is on the run leads to the necessary quick pace.

Lastly, I see a lot of reviewers not liking the back and forth banter / routines between the two FBI agents. I actually enjoyed their characters and thought it added a little more “pep” and entertainment to the book – making it ready for a Netflix adaptation! I give this 4.2 stars and will continue recommending Coben!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC by this amazing author! All opinions are honest and my own!

I am a sucker for Harlan Coben's books. Put on in front of me and I don't put it down until it's finished. And this one is no different even as it has a slight twist on a familiar premise. At the beginning we find David Burroughs in prison for the past 5 years for the horrific crime of murdering his 3 year old son. While he doesn't believe he killed Matthew, the fact that Matthew is dead has annihilated any interest in living for him. Until his ex-sister-in-law visits him and gives him hope. From there on, it's non-stop action, maybe not totally possible, but Cohen makes you buy into the premise. Get comfy and enjoy the ride.

Thanks to New Galley for an advanced copy of this book! I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have been a fan of Harlan Coben’s for years now and this book was a winner. The book tells the story of David Burroughs who was accused of beating his 3 year old son to death with a baseball bat in his bed.Fast forward 5 years and David, in prison for the murder, has his first visitor in 5 years… a family member with a picture that she says looks exactly like, his dead son, but 5 years older. From there starts the search. David is thought to be delusional but evidence keeps mounting that he is, in fact, on the right track.
My rating would be 4.5 stars as a few of the situations just stretch the bounds of credibility. Overall, a very engrossing read that I highly recommend.

I WILL FIND YOU by Harlan Coben - This is a story of David Burroughs who was accused and found guilty of killing his 3 year old son Matthew. He has been a loner in prison wanting to do nothing with anyone and keeping to himself; also not wanting to have any visitors. After five years of being incarcerated, his sister in law Rachel visits him and shows David a photo of a young boy who she believes to be Matthew. David at first does not believe it could be possible but the more he looks at the picture, the more he is convinced. David’s uncle is the warden of the prison and he helps him escape so he can find out the truth about Matthew. Wild but interesting story Had not read Mr Coben in a short while and have always liked his stories. You will not be disappointed with this one, that is for sure.

Holy crap I absolutely loved this book! It was one of those that kept you on your toes the entire time, and I couldn’t stop!

I would describe this story as The Fugitive meets Prison Break. I absolutely hated the FBI team Max and Sarah, which is funny considering I never hate the law enforcement characters in the books I read. The story itself was awesome. I really loved the adventure of it and couldn’t help but root for David and a Rachel!

Huge thanks to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for sending me this ARC for review! All of my reviews are given honestly!
