Such a good book! The twists and turns were so surprising and so well done! I had trouble putting this book down. This was my first book by the author and certainly won’t be my last. Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC!
An innocent man serving life for killing his own young son. Only he doesn’t remember doing that. Any of it. Unfortunately for him, a neighbor saw him burying what seemed to be the murder weapon in the backyard. With no will to even put on a defense, he is remanded to prison.
He doesn’t have visitors. He stopped that long ago and has no wish to see anyone. However, his sister-in-law, Rachel, has come to see him and the information she has gives him a purpose. Find a way out of prison and find his son. And who put him here?
I liked David and Rachel. I did not care for the FBI people. A lot of forced conversation I thought. A lot of the cop talk was pretty much how they talk on television maybe.
I have to say as much as I love this author, I may be coming to the end of the crime against children story.

David Burroughs has been in prison for five years for the murder of his son, Matthew, three. He didn’t do it but who did?
He and his wife Cheryl are divorced, and she is remarried and pregnant. David has refused any visitors since his conviction but always proclaimed his innocence. While this story may stretch your imagination, it is still a wild ride and so much fun.
When David receives a visit from Rachel, Cheryl’s younger sister, his world is turned upside down. She has a photograph of a little boy, approx. 8 years old, who is the spitting image of Matthew, with the same distinctive birthmark on his face. A photograph that brings him to tears. It suddenly convinced Rachel and David that Matthew is alive but was the mangled body found in Matthew’s crib? And what should they do about it?
I Will Find You is a whirlwind, sometimes hard to follow, action-packed novel full of jaw-dropping reveals, prison escapes and crazy twists. David realizes his only option is to escape from prison. Not an easy feat but luckily he knows the prison warden, who puts his job on the line for David because he is close friends with David’s father. If David can escape, his first destination is NYC, where his former neighbor lied under oath that she saw David burying a baseball bat. Her testimony sealed the verdict, and he wants to know why she lied and who she lied for. From there, he wants to know who the actual victim is and more important, where is Matthew? He must accomplish all of this with the FBI breathing down his neck, particularly FBI agents Max and Sarah, who try to be funny but are mostly just obnoxious.
Without revealing further details in the book, I Will Find You is so action packed, you will find yourself taking a break just to catch a breath. Some scenes are heart-pounding, while others are heartbreaking. Harlan Coben’s latest novel is told from multiple points of view; David, The FBI agents Max and Sarah, and Rachel. While the plot focuses on David and Rachel, we actually learn little about them. I became invested early on in this riveting story. It is absolutely addictive with such a satisfying conclusion, which makes for a wonderful reading experience. Harlan Coben’s stories are always well put together and this book is no exception..A must read for fans of Harlan Coben.
Wow, I could not put this book down. Pure Coben. Starts very strangely, and then becomes a roller coaster of excitement. Many of his usual characters are mentioned, Win, Hester and more.
There is also an FBI duo who I don't think have been characters previously, but I loved them and hope they reappear.
David Burroughs is in prison for the murder of his son Matthew. Did he do it? You will have to read this book to find out. Most of the book is from his point of view, and the rest swirl about him.
There are some great characters, every one having an impact on the story. The depth of the conspiracy to keep David in prison, and the denouement that brings it all together is nothing short of brilliant. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. I will be recommending this to everyone.
Love these novels they’re always interesting the plots keep you guessing the characters are well written, and they make for great TV when they are turned into shows I would recommend this book for sure
Sometimes I don’t feel like reading literary fiction. I love the originality of a good literary fiction book but sometimes they aren’t that great, and it feels like homework. When I need to give my brain a rest, but not be totally insulted, I turn to Harlan Coben. His writing has stayed consistently good which is an admirable quality for prolific writers, especially when they can sell their books on their name alone. Thanks to NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
This is only my second book by Harlan Cobb but once again, I felt completely sucked in immediately. While this book felt a bit far-fetched at times, I can't deny I absolutely loved the journey and didn't want to put it down!
Longtime fan of Harlan Coban here. The newest offering by this acclaimed author is "I Will Find You" and I jumped in knowing Coban would not disappoint. I made it through this book in 2 short sittings and was hooked with the opening page as inmate David talks candidly about his son's death.
I have an idea of what life might look like inside a maximum-security prison and as Coban takes us through a few days in Davids's life in prison, it provides the reader with an inside view of the violence, corruption and conditions we hope to never experience firsthand.
As the story progressed, it did start to feel rushed to me. The pages filled with banter between Max and Sarah read like one liner's and quickly lost my interest. At the end, I was left with a few unanswered questions regarding Ted and Sumner but all in all this was a fast and enjoyable read.
Many thanks to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC (all opinions expressed in this review are authentically mine)
As usual, a Harlan Coben thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Was it believable? Not really. But was it good? Yes! So much so that I couldn’t put it down, even though it was pretty obvious early on what was happening, and there were no big surprises throughout. As usual Coben delivered a great read, and remains one of my favorite authors.
I was so happy to have an opportunity to review an advanced reader’s copy of Harlan Coben’s latest novel. This was a fast-paced and engaging storyline, with lots of twists and turns … but the reader does need to suspend disbelief at times with some portions of the story.
* 3.5 stars*
Wow. What. Book! I am a huge fan of Harlan Coben so I didn’t read one word from the description, I just knew it was going to be good! I was right!
I Will Find You is the story of David Burroughs, a man incarcerated for killing his toddler son serval years ago. David has given up on life and was going to live out the rest of his life dead inside and confined to a jail cell. Until a visit from someone changed him and set a plan into motion.
Wow! This book was devoured by me in a day and half. There was no good pause point in this book. This fast paced book kept me glued to my kindle. When I thought I figured everything out Harlan threw in another twist.
David Burroughs had it all - wife, son he adored, a good life - until he was convicted of savagely murdering his 3 year old son Matthew . Although the night was a blur, David is convinced he didn't kill Matthew, but if not David? who did? The one day his sister in law Rachel shows up with a picture that seems to be Matthew....alive. Where is he now, and who was the child found beaten in Matthews bed 5 years before? A daring escape and David is out of prison searching for answers and his son, convinced that Matthew is alive. His search takes him back to his home town, has him making contact with shady crime figures and facing his own past. Fast paced, suspenseful, often pushing the boundaries of belief (but then, that's why its called fiction!), I Will Find You is grabs you by the throat and takes along for a high speed ride. It's a fast read, largely because you can't put it down until you are done! Loved the ending, enjoyed the characters, definitely a must read!
I am a long time fan of Harlan Coben books. This book is good but a little confusing. I felt the ending was a bit rushed and i was unable to guess what happened which is important to me in a book!
I will find you is a fast paced book that you can't put down and must finish in one sitting. It draws you in right from the beginning with a question that you must find out. As you read it draws you in more and more and you think to yourself I have this figured out... and then bam the answer comes and you are like "wait, what"?? It will certainly take you by total surprise.
Such a great book! I highly recommend to anyone.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me early access to read and review the latest from one of my favorite authors Harlan Coben. And as always, he delivers. The good: fast paced action, stellar plot, twists that had me guessing until the end. The bad(which I almost never have with Harlan Coben: the jokey banter between FBI agents Max and Sara. It took me out of the story each and every time. And I do feel that their characters played a very important part in the story. Their Luci and Desi act was a major detraction. As always, a bit little Heater Crimestein sparkle and sarcasm never hurts. Overall, it was a very fast paced, enjoyable, twisty ride from one of my favorite authors, just not his best.
A wrongful conviction five years earlier sets present day events in motion after a photo surfaces of the victim who appears to be alive.
I binge read this fast paced thriller in two days. There were so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. This book is full of suspense and some pretty colorful characters. From the spunky elderly witness to the two wisecracking FBI agents Max and Sarah.
There was a lot going on in this book but it all came together at the end.
David Burroughs is in prison, convicted in the death of his toddler son. He’s innocent, but his guilt over the death is oppressive. Not the most realistic book, but Coben cleverly sidesteps reality by weaving a complex series of events, co-incidences and sense defying escapades as Burroughs wrestles with his memory, his conscience and everyone who is out to thwart him in an effort to discover the truth and perhaps even a son who he was sure was dead. Despite my skepticism, I quickly found that I was anxious to get back to the action whenever I set the book aside. Not his best book by any stretch, but any new effort by Coben is welcome.
I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchanged for my honest review.
Buckle in, folks. Harlan Coben takes you on one heck of a ride.
It has been 5 years since David was convicted of murdering his 3 year old son. He doesn't remember doing it but a neighbor's testimony sealed his fate. His former sister in law visit him in prison and shows him a picture of what could be his supposedly dead son. Is it really him?
David breaks out of prison to find out. From there, hold on, kids. This book had me sucked in from the first lines. It was easy to follow the characters and I felt connected with David and other characters. There was one part that was a little out of there but it didn't detract from the story.
This book had me hooked from the first page. It is action packed and has enough twists to keep you engaged the entire ride. I found myself believing and sympathizing with David from the beginning because of the voice he was given. Having it alternate between David’s point of view and then that of other characters gave you just enough information to start putting the pieces together. While some parts may have seemed a bit too convenient to be believable, it is extremely entertaining. I didn’t want to put this one down and finished it in two days. This is definitely a book I will recommend to my reader friends. It would make a great movie! Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the digital ARC of ”I Will Find You” in exchange for my honest opinion.
I have read and enjoyed all of Harlan Coben’s books and this one was no different. It’s the story of David, who has been in prison for 5 years for killing his 3 year old son, Mathew. One day his sister-in-law visits him and shows him a picture of an older boy who they are sure is Mathew. And so starts the excitement of the story. Although some of the events that happen don't seem plausible it makes for a good read. The characters are well defined and though there are many of them it is easy to keep them straight. Definitely a book worth reading.
