David has been in prison for five years, serving time for the murder of his young son Matthew. When David receives his first ever visitor, he’s shocked to find that Matthew may be alive after all. A surprising photograph sets into motion plans for a daring escape.
Harlan Coben does it again with this fast paced suspense novel. I was pulled in before the end of the first chapter and ended up reading most of the book in one sitting. I could not put it down.
While David may not have been a complete saint, I could not help but root for him to succeed. The ending is both unpredictable and delightful. The only thing I found off putting was the weird back and forth attempts at humor in the agents’ dialogue. Not much is given as far as the agents’ partnership so it is difficult to tell what they were going for.
Overall, I Will Find You is a thrilling read with just enough twists to keep readers guessing until the very end. I can absolutely see this book being made into a movie or miniseries.
Harlan Coben will continue to be one of my favorite suspense writers and I look forward to seeing what he has for readers next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing!
Another Harlan Coben thriller that you won’t be able to put down. No matter how far-fetched or unbelievable the plot, this author keeps you flipping pages and allows you to suspend belief. It is that good. It was also not an ending I could have predicted- but I find that typical of his books- of which I have read most!
Thank you NetGalley for a ARC.
Thank you to NetGalley, Grand Central Publoshing and of course the author Harlan Coben for sharing this action packed book with me in exchange for a honest review. I am not new to Harlan Coben books although I think I need to look up more because this book was good! I was half way done reading it in ONE day which is somewhat unusual for me.
David Burroughs is an ordinary guy living with my his wife and son when tragedy struck! One late night of too much to drink turned into an unbelievable nightmare! His life unraveled as fast as you can imagine when he was arrested tried and charged with the murder of his 3 year old son. Many many twists and turns in this one, secrets and lie, but that didn’t stop David for fighting for justice and fighting for his life!! Not one to put down kept me awake till wee hours od the morning turning the pages of my kindle! Look for it soon on a shelf near you or eformat.
Once again, Harlan Coben has done it! This book was amazing. David is in prison for murdering his son. Only thing is.... he's innocent. Is his son actually alive?
I could not put this down. I had to know how it ended! I love this and would recommend it to lovers of thrillers or mysteries!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!!
"I Will Find You" is another great suspense novel by Harlan Coben. The first part of the plot took a little too long to get going. However, it is very readable and I flew through it.
arlan Coben is one of the most popular modern authors, and it is evident in I Will Find You. David Burroughs has been in prison for the past five years after being convicted of bludgeoning his 3 year old son to death. He is innocent, of course, but doesn’t care much because without his son, he thinks life isn’t worth it. However, his former sister-in-law visits him in prison with a picture of his son, and he is sure that his son is alive and must get out of prison to find him.
Coben is a genius when it comes to weaving a story; his books are all bestsellers for good reason. He creates incredibly believable characters, and adds characters from previous books which gives some familiarity to readers of his previous books. The characters in this excellent, edge of your seat, novel are perfect for the story.
Not only is this a great novel with twists and turns, it is a commentary on the unfairness of how the rich are treated as opposed to those who don’t have power and money. While the dénouement is a big surprise, it is somewhat unsettling, since it is a reflection of what happens in real life.
This is an excellent novel for those who enjoy the humor and storytelling ability of Harlan Coben. Most fans have read all of the previous novels and are always waiting for the subsequent ones. This is highly recommended for fans, as well as anyone who has just discovered this amazing author,
This may be a commentary on how the rich can commit crimes, including murder, and with their money, status, and power, get off.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
You just can't go wrong with a Harlan Coben book. He dreams up some unique, twisty plots and takes the reader along as he unravels it. This one was particularly tense, probably because the characters tended to do everything the hard way. But that made for an interesting story.
If I’m looking for a good book, what do I grab? Anything Harlan Coben writes. No junkie filler in his books. I’m a big fan of Myron Bolitar and Win, great series. I’ve read every HC book, I’ve even read the young adult ones. This book “I will find you” is a standalone. Right from the beginning, the book grabbed me and didn’t let go. I couldn’t stop reading. Man is incarcerated for killing his young son to a bloody pulp, sister-in-law visits him with a picture that they both believe is the boy, the man escapes prison to find the boy. (How can that be?) Okay, you’ve read the synopsis and know what the book is about. At each turn I thought how is Harlan going to pull this off. Oh my goodness this man can write a book. I loved the side FBI characters. I would love to see them again! Humor in a mystery book is difficult. If it isn’t funny, it falls flat. HC is able to inject some humor into his books with the FBI team. Great character development all around. Thank you to Net Galley & Grand Central Publishing for an ARC of this book, I would have read it anyway, Haran Coben’s books are a given. Thank you to Haran Coben for a huge hit!
Thank you for the opportunity to preview I Will Find You. Coben is in his element with this new book.
He takes an ordinary man and turns his life from normal to a nightmare. That’s what I love.
From his first novel to this one Coben takes you on an edge of your seat ride
David is in jail. He has been convicted of killing his son. He is a lost man and has resigned himself to the hell hole life he leads. But that changes when he gets a visitor who shows j a picture. And that picture is of a little boy who looks just like his son. David now has something to live for but he’s in jail. How can he prove he is not a murderer and who will believe him.
5 stars
Thank you Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC!
This was my first Harlan Coben read, and it most definitely won't be my last. Even though I received the ARC, I pre-ordered the signed copy from Barnes and Noble. I've already recommended this book to quite a few people! This kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely could not put it down!! This is an easy one-sitting binge.
David Burroughs is in prison for the brutal murder of his young child, Matthew. Although he doesn't believe he did it (possible blackout scenario), he stopped fighting once arrested. As far as he was concerned, his life was over when his son died. Five years later, his ex-sister-in-law, Rachel, comes to visit him with quite a shocking revelation. She believes she has a picture with Matthew in the background. What will David do to find his son? How far is Rachel willing to go to help?
Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors so when I was able to review this book with Netgalley to say I was thrilled is an understatement.
Straight out of the gate a picture is painted of a wrongly accused father who aches day in and day out for the loss of his son. He has shut out the world because now that he is in prison nothing else matters. Then after several years he gets a visitor and everything is turned on it’s head. In this story pieces of a puzzle come together fast and with the fierceness of the love a father has for his son. This is a page turner that doesn’t disappoint.
Without giving anything away let me say I love the surprise mention of characters from other Harlan Coben books. It’s like finding an Easter egg.
Thanks again for the opportunity to read and review this thriller
Lotsa holes and lotsa fantasy. Nothing, at all, credible.
The cutesy dialog between and from the two FBI agents was a real turn off. Hopefully Max and Sarah, his counterpart are gone for good.
I appreciate this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, Grand Central, in exchange for an honest review. Harlan Coben has long been an author whose books I grab as soon as I find them. This is definitely not his best.
David Burroughs is 5 years into a life sentence in prison after being convicted of murdering his three year old son. After seeing a picture of a boy who looks identical, he is convinced his son is still alive. This begins the fast past paced book as he plans his escape and searches for the boy in the photo.
Harlon Coben is notorious for his end of your seat thrillers and this book was no different. Thanks net galley for the ARC!
I read to be entertained. I don’t get hung up on books, or movies for that matter, being a little bit unrealistic or exaggerated. As long as I’m entertained I call it a success! Harlan Coben’s newest thriller is just that! It’s fast-paced, has clever characters, and I could see this one playing out like a movie as I read it! Add to your TBR - it releases on 3/14! Thanks to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC - I loved it!
David Burroughs has spent the last five years in prison in a fugue of depression and grief after being convicted of murdering his three year old son, Matthew. The problem is that he is innocent. When his ex-sister-in-law, Rachel, shows for a visit with a picture of an eight-year-old boy with an uncanny resemblance to Matthew, David quickly emerges from his nightmare and begins to plan his escape.
Thus starts his exciting, heart-stopping and dangerous search for his son and the truth. A number of people and pitfalls await him and must be quickly dealt like the two pesky FBI agents who are hot on his trail. He must stay a step ahead of them to find out what really happened and who framed him.
This was only my third Coben book and I don’t why I haven’t read more. His writing has a way of pulling you in and making you desperate to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this book for all thrill-loving suspense readers. My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read it in exchange for my honest opinion. I gave it four stars!
Coban delivers another absorbing thriller when a man in prison for murdering his son finds out that his child is still alive.
Pulse-pounding, heart-thumping and anxiety-inducing, I Will Find You takes you on a thrilling journey with an escaped convict hellbent on proving his innocence and regaining the life he has lost. Harlan Coben has crafted a supremely exciting and entertaining novel that starts with a parent's worst nightmare, continues with a parent's love as the driving force to achieve the impossible, and ends with a parent’s satisfaction of succeeding in doing anything for your child.
David Burroughs is serving a life sentence for the brutal murder of his three-year-old son Matthew. Convicted despite protestations of his innocence, he accepts his incarceration as punishment for not protecting his son. Five years into his imprisonment he gets a surprise visit from Rachel, his former sister-in-law, with a shocking revelation that Matthew might in fact still be alive. She shows a picture of an eight-year-old boy at an amusement park that has the same distinctive birthmark that Matthew had.
Now David is convinced his son is alive – as crazy as that sounds – and another boy was murdered in his place to frame him. Which kicks off a hasty plan to escape from prison and stop at nothing to get his son back.
I Will Find You propels forward with an unrelenting storyline that twists and turns multiple times, compelling the reader to continue at a lightning-fast pace in order to find out what happens next. Is David really innocent? Is Matthew really alive? If the answer is yes to those two questions, who is behind this dastardly plot to kidnap a kid and frame his father for murder? And will we get a resolution to these questions or will law enforcement catch David before he can get to the truth? These questions burrow in your brain, with the writing of Harlan Coben sowing doubt into your thoughts throughout but forcing you onward because you just must know how this will end.
Additionally, what makes this book so damn enjoyable are the fabulous characters. Beyond David’s despair and then desperation, there’s Rachel’s quest for redemption, Cheryl’s (David’s ex-wife) struggle to rebuild her life, the FBI agent's quirky yet incredibly competent approach to tracking down David, and more. Every character brings depth and value to the story, engaging the reader further and dragging them into this world where you’re rooting for a convicted killer to succeed in his mission for truth.
I Will Find You is a fantastic character-driven novel with a killer plot that sinks its hooks into the reader early and does not let go. Harlan Coben is one of the best in the business and he proves it once again with this absorbing, exhilarating and intriguing story.
Another great thriller by Coben. This was filled with twists and action packed. I enjoyed the pace and the story. Hard to put this one down! Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
3.5 ⭐️ (rounded down). Let me start with, I am a huge fan of Harlan Coben books and I was super excited to get an advanced copy of this one. But sadly, this was probably my least favorite so far of his books.
The storyline just didn’t grab me. I don’t even know how to explain it. 400 pages filled with short sentences and a lot of dialogue that just seemed to be a lot of “fillers”. As far as characters go, the main characters (David and Rachel) were likable. I also liked the Warden. I couldn’t stand the FBI Agents (Max and Sarah). They annoyed me so much that I knocked off one star just because of them! The conversations that included them just felt like they were written by a debut author, not a best selling author.
To wrap it all up: the beginning, the middle and the end were all just “meh”. 😕 Overall, if I’m being honest, I am disappointed in this book. I won’t stop reading Harlan Coben’s books… this one was just not a hit for me. I still definitely recommend this author but maybe skip this one and choose another since there are many others that are much better. (Run Away, Tell No One and The Woods, just to name a few).
Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC for this fine book. I have been a big Harlen Coben fan, and once again he does not disappoint. He continually had me guessing until the end and the twists and turns of this book found me finishing this in one sitting. There is no finer story-teller around, and this was one of his best stories. It is quite a tale, but the motivations of the characters are something that I believe every parent or parent to be could relate to. Major kudos to Mr. Coben, and I look forward to reading his next tale. 5-stars!!!
