Absolutely fantastic plot! Could not put the book down once I began reading it. Cannot wait for it to be released. I will recommend it to everyone I know!
Jude and Molly’s families have been life-long neighbors and friends; however somewhere around the age of seven, Jude and Molly went from being best friends to enemies. Over the years, each tried to outdo the other with pranks that became increasingly devious the older they got. As adults, Jude and Molly rarely have the occasion to see one another until their older siblings plan a joint party for both families, pairing the youngest siblings for the task of finding a venue. As painful memories and old habits resurface, Molly also feels a strange attraction to Jude.
Someone Just Like You does enemies-to-lovers right! Schorr creates two characters that are meant to be, despite their differences and history. I will admit that I was contemplating a DNF around the 20% mark because I didn’t enjoy their cruel pranks. While they aren’t hurting one another, their joking is mean. However, just as I was thinking “enough already,” there is a solid turning point in Molly and Jude’s relationship. The author creates a lovely transition from enemies to friends to lovers, and the way they come together is perfect for this couple.
Another potential downfall for their relationship is a secret Molly has harbored since high school, one that altered Jude’s life permanently. This is another trope I don’t love, but once again, Schorr handles the entire situation perfectly. The author doesn’t let the horrible secret fester until the end of the book, but rather allows Molly to out herself midway through the story and then gives Jude the time he needs to process it and move forward. There is no “insta-fix,” but rather real thought and effort goes into forgiveness.
Despite their through-the-roof chemistry, the pair finds it hard to give up old habits when fighting, able to hurt each other with words even more now because they do love one another. I appreciate that the author allows the couple space to argue and figure out if they are meant to be. Molly does a lot of self-reflection about her life and career, about her family and her need to fix everything. Since the story is shared solely from Molly’s POV, I do miss out on knowing where Jude’s head is at and why he does what he does. But the absence of his POV makes his declarations all the more powerful, bringing me to tears when he breaks Molly’s heart and grinning when he surprises her with love. The addition of a doppelgänger fixation that lasts years without either Jude or Molly figuring it out is a brilliant tool used to show the MCs how each always sought out the other.
In the end, I thoroughly adored Someone Just Like You, despite its use of tropes I usually don’t enjoy. I’m glad I took a chance on Molly and Jude, and I highly recommend you do, too.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Cute book. A perfect beach read or book to read while travelling.
I wanted to know what would happen next, but I wasn't glued to the book. I enjoyed the enemies to lovers trope (always a fave of mine). There was just enough banter and shenanigans that I was kept entertained.
I found myself wanting to see certain things from Jude's perspective, but we only get Molly's.
I'm still on the fence if I want to add this book to my physical collection, but I'll be recommending it as a quick, easy, light-hearted read!
This was a great book! I really enjoyed Schorr's first novel, As Seen on TV, and this one was even better. I loved the relationship that Jude, Molly and their siblings have all together. I loved the family bonds, getting to know our two main characters even better as the story went on. I will say I didn't love how mean Jude could be. I loved the setting of Manhattan, I used to live not far from where our MCs live and I recognized alot of the restaurants and bars.
I loved the Jewish rep and how real the career anxiety felt.
Childhood enemies Molly and Jude end up spending time together planning a party for their respective parents anniversaries. Will this time help them realise what has been in front of them all along? A great read.
This was cute, and I really liked how Molly and Jude balanced each other out.
There was a lot of prank’s between the two, and once we got past those, I really enjoyed how these two went from frenemies to lovers.
What even was this?
Childish pranks.
Zero chemistry.
Absurd bonding.
Entire plot felt childish to begin with.
Sorry to say but this book wasn't for me.
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am quickly becoming a Meredith Schorr girly.
This was a cute, fun, and easy read. Which is sometimes exactly what you need! And I will literally eat up a book set in NYC every single time!
3.5 stars
I think I would have enjoyed this book so much more if it was dual POV. There was so many times where I wish I knew Jude's perspective on something because he could be pretty closed off and I didn't fully trust Molly's viewpoint in regards to him. In all this ended up being pretty average.
This was cute but the beginning was borderline unbearable due to the pranking. Jude and Molly were so childish, and their siblings were truly no better.
Really I stuck around for Molly’s parents and Esther. I ended up enjoying it more than I initially expected but they were really just so immature for two characters in their late twenties.
Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This book just didn’t do it for me. I know it is 100% a me thing, because I can see how others would really enjoy it. But I just couldn’t connect to either of the main characters. This caused me to be taken out of the story really easily. I just wasn’t rooting for their relationship. This was an easy read and I read it fairly quickly. I like the plot and the side characters. I also enjoyed the representation! Just couldn’t get connected to the main characters which ruins books for me personally.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
This is Meredith’s second book, her first was As Seen on TV. Which I absolutely adored and was one of my favorite books last year! So as you can imagine I was so excited to read Someone Just Like You.
This is the story of Molly Blum and Jude Stark. They are former neighbors who were practically family. As young toddlers they were best friends but soon became enemies as the grew up. There were pranks, fights and constant one-upping between the two of them. A decade later brings up both of their parents wedding anniversary and all the children decide to plan a party for both families.
So Molly and Jude get thrown back together to help plan the party, but the pranks just start back up where they left off. Eventually a small friendship starts growing and some unexpected sexual tension.
This was such a fun book! I loved the nod to all the NYC spots! I always love stories set in the city, the late night hangs at the bars, walking around the city. Huge fan of our doggy friends in the book. I however hated Jude in the beginning, I was worried I wasn’t going to like him but he wormed himself into my heart after all.
I highly recommend this one! It’s the perfect summertime read, or really anytime! Just grab a pet, cuddle up and get reading!
Thank you so much @meredithschorr and @readforeverpub for the gifted copy! Also check out the second pic! Meredith thanked me in the acknowledgments!!! Ahhh such a great moment for me!! Thank you so much for being amazing!
This was a fun read. The friends to enemies to lovers trope is well done, as is the Jewish representation. In addition to a good romance, there are a lot of other layers to unpack, including our roles in our families and our places in the world. Both Jude and Molly are super cute together, and all of the Beatles references are fantastic.
enemies to lovers done right couldnt recommend more!!! Molly and Jude’s banter made this book. It was so quick witted and kept the story moving so well. It was great to watch them navigate their feelings and towards each other. You could feel he tension when reading. I also loved their friends and their involvement in the story. Plus the epilogue was cute!
Molly and Jude have been rivals since they were children. Their families have been lifelong friends and neighbors.
The siblings of both families have decided to throw their parents an anniversary party. This means Molly has to see Jude more times than she would prefer. She has been assigned the duty of finding the perfect venue for the party with Jude.
Cue the pranks and banter between them. I absolutely loved the back-and-forth pranks. Jude’s attitude and comments throughout the book made me laugh out loud many times. You could see that they both had some hidden feelings for one another.
This is a perfect enemies-to-lovers story with adorable dogs! You can’t go wrong with that!

Thank you @readforeverpub for this fun friendenmy to lovers story. I thought that Jude and Molly was very childish to each other but totally understand with how they grew up. I love seeing how they slowly changed their feelings towards each other and discovering their romance. Despite all the pranks, there were some tender moments too.
This is a sweet enemies-to-lovers romance with characters that have known each other their whole lives. Molly and Jude are charged with finding a venue for their parents' joint anniversary party but they can't stop pranking one another. When they finally call a truce they also fall in love and are forced to deal with long-held secrets and family dynamics. I will say these storylines felt a little familiar to other romance books I have read before. Schorr's writing and very likable characters kept me invested throughout and anyone who doesn't read a ton of romance with find this plot fresh and fun. I do recommend this one for a great summer read. Thank you to Meredith Schorr, NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review.

This author is new to me. I was intrigued by the tropes: rivals, childhood frenemies to lovers and force proximity. Right off the bat I loved the dynamic of Jude and Molly. Their families were close growing up and they always didn't see eye to eye leading to numerous pranks on eachother. Their rivalry was funny and intense too. Then when their families decide to do a surprise celebration for both their parents they have to work along side eachother to find a venue to host the dinner.
I thought it was funny how they dated doppelgangers of eachother without realizing they were like them. I did struggle though with Molly. At times I thought her behavior towards her parents and Jude was too much. I thought her trying to control their choices in their lives had me a little disconnected to her character the most. I would of liked if she handled both situations differently.
Absolutely loved it! I love when you're reading and the title/cover art suddenly clicks in your brain, making you appreciate the story even more.
This was the best childhood enemies in their adult years, with so much witty banter and pranks that my cheeks hurt from laughing.
Perfect for fans of The Hating Game and 10 Things I Hate About You.
a cute and charming romcom that was delightful.
