I loved their antics and angst, although Molly was quite annoying. It fell a little flat by the end, but that won't stop me from picking up Schorr's first book and any that come later.

This fun and fast-paced enemies to lovers rom-com was the perfect pick-me-up on a rainy day, especially after a string of psychological thriller reads.

I enjoyed this fun romantic comedy. Childhood rivals forced together is always a fun troupe. Some of their antics did seem a little childish for their age though. Throw this one in your beach bag or to read on your next flight.

💫 Someone Like You 💫
By Meredith Schorr
Publisher: Forever (July 25.2023)
Genre: Rom Com

This was my first by Canadian author Meredith Schorr but I think I’m going to go back and pick up her debut because so many people rave about that one.

This was a story about childhood besties who have grown up and apart. The two families raised their kids together and so the dynamic between them all is one of cousin rivalry or rather teasing. Jude and Molly reconnect to host a surprise party for their parents and find out that there’s something simmering underneath their history.

Having grown up with my own hubby I could relate to that friendship turn lover troupe but I must admit we never played pranks on each other. And at times in the book I found it childish. ESP since they’re supposed to be late 20’s. But here’s where my mind went because I also thought it was cute and sweet that they were trying to figure out how to define the friendship of competing and grow it into a partnership.
I think readers that love a Beachy read that feels happy or ones that can relate to that first love friendship will enjoy it.

It was an uncomplicated light romance book for me 💛

4/5 stars.

General Description: Molly and Jude grew up across the street from each other. Their rivalry continued for years, until they went to college. But now, both in their early twenties, Molly and Jude are assigned to the task of finding a venue for their parents joint anniversary party. The older siblings on both side are depending on them. Molly and Jude go back to their own pranking ways, but when truce is called, other feelings are allowed to come through. Will Molly and Jude be able to build a relationship, or will the pranks of their past pull them apart?

The goods:
- I really like the dichotomy between Jude and Molly. I can see how people wouldn't like the stark dynamic as if it seems immature, but still, I enjoyed it.
- There are ups and downs that to me felt realistic and weren't necessarily drawn out.
- I liked all the side character and the depth of story we specifically get from Molly's job subplot.
- I appreciated the anniversary party not being the end of the book. You get so much more in this cute rom-com!

the loss of a star: The spice was not very in depth./well fleshed out. I felt the scenes were quick and honestly took away from the relationship Molly and Jude were building. Definitely not the spiciest book.

Overall: If you're looking for a cute rom com and can look past the spice, you'll enjoy this!

Jude and Molly continuously date people that look like each other! It's sort of weird. The conflicts in this story are so real, yet handled in a hilarious way. I really related to the feelings these two had. They are the bane of each other's existences, but I love a good enemies to lovers romantic comedy. This book had me laughing and crying the entire time, and I couldn't put it down! I think I read it in just a few hours. The pranks that Jude and Molly played on each other were so silly and fun. But the storyline about their careers was boringggggg. They brought out the best in each other, but I like more of a slow burn romance. I enjoyed reading this, and I recommend if you want a quick read with a cute story. This ARC was provided to me as a member of NetGalley. You can buy it on July 25, 2023!

3.5 stars. I enjoyed Schorr’s last book and was happy to pick this one up. It was a bit contrived but still an enjoyable read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

3.5 stars rounded up!

This was more of a like than a love for me. I was initially attracted to this book because the front cover is adorable! I do love the enemies to lovers trope, but I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Jude and Molly. The felt a little immature to me, and the conflict kind of dragged out.

Overall it was an easy romcom read, and I would be interested in reading more from this author.

Out of the park! Enemies to lovers is my favorite rom com trope and this one hit all the high notes!! Molly is struggling to finally make nice with childhood rival Jude. When forced to help plan a joint anniversary party they can’t help but start seeing each other for the steamy grown ups they now are. Using their new relationship as a springboard into making difficult choices in the pursuit of genuine happiness Molly and Jude falter a few steps and help each other become their best self!

An easy romcom read with a friends-to enemies-to lovers trope. Molly and Jude’s families were close neighbors and they grew up together being the youngest kids, always playing together until one day something changed and Jude became a trickster to Molly. Constantly playing pranks on each other, eventually having a minor truce after reaching adulthood.

Highlights
- Jewish representation
- Friends to enemies
- Cute dogs
- Taylor Swift references
- The Beatles references

I like that Molly was a non practicing lawyer but working at a recruitment agency and helping people find jobs, her reasoning to place them in a good position was heartwarming. Additionally, Molly’s best friend Esther was an interesting character and I liked their friendship.

Overall it was a so-so read. I thought the plot was a little unrealistic, the pranks and banter between the pair, considering they are 27, quite juvenile. I enjoyed the parts with cute dog Yogi and the inclusion of Jewish culture. I wasn’t completely sold on them being lovers and the story dragged for me and could have been shorter length. Lots of ping-ponging emotions between friends and rivals, there were almost too many different plot points but none of them really sparked my attention.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

An entertaining romance book where the fighting main characters date each others look a likes. I really liked the banter between Jude and Molly when they were trying one-up each other and when they were flirting. This books sits somewhere between enemies to lovers and friends to lover but not quite either. There were a few super cute swoon worthy moments too,

I found this an easy going read with a few pulls on my heart along the way but not very heavy.. Overall a cute romance read.

Thank you to NetGalley and @ReadForeverPub for the free ARC for my opinion.

I loved this concept from the moment I read the description, and Schorr absolutely delivered. I can't resist nemesis-to-lovers (especially when they throw nicknames around like these characters did), and this one was filled with spectacular banter and character personalities that leaped off the page. Oh, and the DOGS! Everything was wrapped up in a perfect romance package. I can't wait to add a physical copy to my bookshelf.

New Yorker Molly Blum knows everything about her lifelong nemesis, Jude Stark. With their families so close, they should have been best friends, but instead she thinks he's a too-charming slacker, and he thinks she's allergic to fun. After years of one-upping each other's pranks, one high school joke went too far, and aside from family functions that threw them together, they stopped speaking entirely. But now that the Blum and Stark siblings are all planning a massive, joint party for their parents, there's no better time to resume their war. Only somewhere between all the harmless hijinks, a reluctant friendship is developing... and a spark of sexual tension. It might have to do with the fact that since they can remember, they've been dating each-other's doppelgangers, or the fact that neither of them is as horrible as they thought. Molly and Jude have mastered the act of hating each other, falling for each other is a whole new territory.

This was a enjoyable and easy rom-com! The whole 'I say I hate you but everyone I've dated in my adult life looks like you and has the same interests as you' storyline was SO well done, and I loved all the comments coming from both of their friends and families that were clearly well-aware of their dating histories but never thought to mention it to either of them. The beginning hooked me, but I will say, after several chapters of the constant pranking it did get a little old. I did enjoy how the brief emotional conversations were sprinkled into their first several meet-ups after not seeing each other for years, but there was still a lot of repetitiveness. There was a lot of things that adult Molly couldn't seem to get past from her childhood, and that storyline was also a little overdone in my opinion. It was just little things that knocked this down to 4 stars for me, because their chemistry and banter was enough to keep me reading!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

These two need to grow up—in more ways than one! If you're a fan of the love/hate trope, you’ve gotta check it out. We're talking enemies-to-friends-to-lovers and back again. These childish adults exchange insults like it's their job, and you know what? It works for them. The much anticipated next book from Meredith Schorr releases July 25th from Forever Publishing. Snag your copy and get ready to spend the day with romance spiked with unresolved childhood trauma!

This is definitely a "Will they, won't they?" kind of Rom Com. This is the second book that I've read of Meredith Schorr's and I thoroughly enjoy her writing style. This was a fun, easy read that I enjoyed every second of reading. I cannot wait to buy a physical copy for my bookshelf when it's published in July (around my birthday, so happy birthday to me I guess!)

This is enemies to lovers for sure.

When they were little little they were best friends. Then one day they weren't. After that came an epic prank war that lasted through the years. And man was it a lot of pranks. Some funny, some disappointing, some disastrous.

Their families are really close, and their parents are friends. So when their siblings decide to throw a dual anniversary party they put Jude and Molly in charge of finding a venue. Can two people who despise each other find a place?

Molly is a type A girl. (But she has a good reason!) And Jude is your devil may care type guy. Total opposites. But what happens when they're forced into each other's orbit again?

I had a hard time seeing the chemistry between the two main characters. But this was cute. I liked the book tropes that were added. It was overall a good time.
