I would like to thank NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me with a free e-ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Molly Blum and Jude Stark have been enemies since forever… but Molly can’t seem to figure out why. They were friends when they were kids and their families were super close, but Molly and Jude have been in a bitter rivalry for most of their lives until now when Molly and Jude are forced to work together on their parents' joint anniversary party.

While I haven’t read Meredith Schorr’s prior novel, As Seen on TV, I do think Someone Just Like You is a solid read. Picking up on the snarky competitiveness from Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game, Molly and Jude have some nice banter without feeling forced or over exaggerated. For the most part, I liked Molly and Jude’s relationship and their character development was good.

Though, I wasn’t a fan of every single aspect in Someone Just Like You.

First, the pacing just felt off. When I was reading the book, Schorr seemed to adopt a fast-paced approach that almost leaned towards being jumpy/choppy. Personally, I feel like it made some parts of the book a bit discombobulated and I wish the time jumps were a bit more smoother.

Also, the whole look-alike and “our families are obsessed with our relationship” tropes just felt weird. To start, I don’t know why Molly and Jude’s siblings seem so surprised about their ability to tolerate working together for the party. I mean, they pretty much guilt tripped them into doing it. Secondly, I know the look-alike trope was a key component of the plot, but it just felt weird. Since most of the reasons why their exes could be look-alikes were based off of coincidences, it was annoying that their families were so fixated on it (even if Timothy and Charley did look that similar).

Nevertheless, despite some personal peeves I had with certain aspects of the plot and Schorr’s writing style, Someone Just Like You is a pleasant enemies-to-lovers romance and is perfect for fans of The Hating Game and Beach Read.

I quite enjoyed this book. A fun spicy read that hit all the feels. Enemies to lovers trope. Jewish representation. Molly and Jude have been frenemies since they were children. They have had an epic prank war ever since then. In planning their two families anniversary party, they are forced to pick the venue for the celebration. Chaos ensues. Then sparks fly.

An entertaining read….though a fight/break-up too much and the epilogue (8 years later…really?!) were the only downsides to an otherwise fantastic romcom.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was so thrilled to start this book, and I quite enjoyed finishing it! I loved watching the story unfold between Jude and Molly. I loved seeing the rivalry tension turn into sexual tension, and I LOVED the banter between them. This book is absolutely hilarious, adorable, sweet, and emotional all rolled into one. I’m only docking two stars because it’s not my usual choice of genre, and I didn’t love the prologue. Otherwise, if you love the enemies to lovers trope, PLEASE read this!

3.75/5 stars

Okay-this was cute. Enemies to lovers is always fun, even if it was a bit forced initially (and a tad immature with all the pranks). But I liked the severe personality differences between the two MC's. And that everyone else seemed to notice they were dating versions of each other...but they didn't.

A fun rom-com, with a quick pace and realistic characters with real flaws and growth. Oh, and cute dogs galore. I'll be keeping this author in mind in the future.

This was my first time reading a book by Meredith Schorr, and I will be reading her other book after this. This book is about main characters, Molly and Jude, who have been rivals since they were kids. They are forced together to plan and organize an anniversary for their parents, who share the same date. We see early on in the book they have lived their whole life playing pranks on each other.

In the first couple of chapters, there were a lot of high school-level pranks and fights that were a little annoying and made the beginning start slowly. Once I got past that, I enjoyed the book a lot more. The found and large family dynamics that both Jude and Molly's family had. I really liked the part where both Molly and Jude dated people that were very similar to each other and didn't realize it.

There was some family and friend drama that I enjoyed. I liked the banter and romance and other plot point dealing with career paths, feeling happy and fulfilled in jobs, and past hurts. Molly and Jude are opposites in so many aspects and have to deal with navigating their strong and different personalities, which was very realistic to read. Overall this was a cute romcom that had relatable and realistic characters with a couple of steamy scenes. I would recommend it if you are looking for a heartwarming love story with emotional moments.

This romcom has;
- Jewish representation and main characters
- Rival main characters
- Enemies to lovers
- Forced proximity
-Tightknit family and friends
- Found family
Thank you, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley, for this arc for an honest review.

Loved this more than "Seen on TV." There was more romance and spice throughout the book. Molly and Jude are enemies to lovers but to get there involves a big adventure with a lot hurdles. There are a lot of side characters between two families and friends but not confusing to remember them all. I was happy she included an epilogue at the end.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the last 60% of the book was really fast-paced. I loved the dynamic and the chemistry between our main characters, Jude and Molly. Their banter and the competition in the first half (and still throughout the book!) were so much fun. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves romance and is on the lookout for a light, fluffy romance read.

Okay, so I liked As Seen on TV but wasn't in love with the story and characters. Someone Just Like You redeemed Meredith Schorr for me! I really enjoyed the characters, the fun storyline and it had the perfect amount of drama and tension. I truly love any book where someone gets sick and needs to be taken care of, Jude was so sweet the whole time, I also desperately want to meet Yogi and bring him some hair accessories. I thought the whole dating doppelgangers was hilarious, especially because they were so oblivious. Thank you for such a fun, enjoyable book Meredith Shorr!

This was such a fun read. I enjoyed the banter between Jude and Molly and the path the author created for these two. Watching their relationship grow from "hate" to something more after realizing they often found substitutes for the other in the relationships was enjoyable. I was rooting for them the entire book and couldn't wait to see how everything played out and if opposites really do attract.

Enemies to lovers when the whole family is involved, this book is an enjoyable read from start to finish.

Family friends for years, the children of the Blum and Stark families voluntold their youngest members, Jude Stark and Molly Blum to find the venue for their respective joint parents anniversary party.

Jude and Molly, who have been tangled up in pranks and misadventures for years, do not take to this tasks lightly, but attempt to put aside differences as they scout out locations for the party.

With shocking admissions, unexpected and unpleasant surprises, Molly and Jude find themselves leaning on each other more and more... even if it's in the form of their doppelganger partners, Jude's so much like Molly that even Molly's father mistakes the doppelganger for her!

Will these two break out of their current relationships to find their true love that has been simmering all these years?
Read and find out.

I enjoyed the back and forth banter between Molly and Jude. This was a fun book to read but I did feel that the relationship went from moving very slow to jumping into bed pretty suddenly. I would have liked more of a build up here to make it feel a bit more realistic. I did enjoy the characters in both of their families and felt they added nicely to the storyline.

Thank you Netgalley for this book! On to the review.

The Good: The pacing was well done and the writing was very fast-paced.

The Bad: The Main Character. She felt very immature and selfish throughout the entire book, and yet by the end she learned nothing. The romance was fine until there was a point where I thought the two characters should not be together and I honestly would have preferred that.

However, I think this book just didn't appeal to me because I am not the audience. There are surely people out there who would enjoy this more then me.

When two frenemies from neighboring families are thrown together to find an anniversary party venue, it is a guarantee that problems will ensue. What is not a given is that those same two people, Molly and Jude, will come to some startling realizations about each other. For example, why do all of Molly's dates tend to have goldendoodle-like dogs? And why do Jude's dates seem to be people pleasing lawyer types?

Schorr takes the reader on a fun ride of discovery as two people realize that maybe all of that passionate hate wasn't hate after all!

Schorr delights again with her breezy, joyful prose, this time celebrating love-disguised-as-rivalry between two New Yorkers who can't seem to see eye to eye. One is a planner. One is more prone to spontaneity, But perhaps their differences can lend a relationship strength. The characters' history of dating people who resemble one another provides entertaining background, while 3 plot-lines braid together: Molly's struggles with a toxic work environment, her attempts to keep her parents' marriage going, and her growing realization that Jude might be the perfect guy for her. We also get a fabulous best friend and a few key cameos from an adorable dog. A swift, fun read, and a great fit for readers who enjoy rivalry as a love language, classic rom-com references, public declarations of love, caring but complicated families, learning how to diverge from the best laid plans when life doesn't pan out the way you thought it would, and a light hint of steam.

After reading Schorr’s As Seen in TV, I knew I had to read this novel! It’s a light hearted romance between two lifelong friends- Molly and Jude. It was a quick read and just delightful.

This book was so full of laughter and tears. This book had you screaming at the characters and wondering if they would ever get together. This story made me have a serendipity experience. Rom-coms are meant to make you smile, and Meredith Schorr’s Someone Just Like You does just that. You will sometimes find yourself laughing out loud, which, as we all know, is the best feeling ever!

We all know Molly and Jude; sometimes, we’ve actually been one or the other, so how can we not fall in love with these fabulous characters?

From the first page to the last, I adored this book.

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book.

I really wanted to like this because the premise sounded like something I would totally go for but it just did not do it for me. The pacing and all were great, the writing was good. But the romance of it all was forced and did not feel like the love interests had any chemistry.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
