This sounded like a really good sports lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance but it didn't really do it for me. I think it was the writing style? I'm not sure but it didn't quite click.
I love a good sports romance, ESPECIALLY baseball, but this story didn't do it for me.
I found the main FMC very annoying and the MMC was a snore.
It was a cute story but I personally didn’t connect with any of the characters and felt more and more annoyed by Kendra.
My favorite person was probably Dan‘s mum tbh.
I wanted to love this one so much but I didn’t. It was fine but I wouldn’t recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley for an earc
The narrative centers around the protagonist, whose seemingly ordinary life takes a dark turn when they become convinced that they are under constant surveillance. Armstrong skillfully explores the psychological toll of this pervasive fear, delving into the protagonist's psyche with nuance and empathy. The unraveling sense of reality is palpable, creating a sense of unease that resonates throughout the story.
"Love Report" embraced me like a warm, soothing blanket and provided an escape akin to a captivating movie after an exhausting day. The quick, charming and delightful read hit all the right notes.
The protagonist, Kendra Star, shone brighter than any other character in the book. Her fully-realized persona was bewitching, and I fell irrevocably in love with her. She was so authentic that I could envision her vividly, and her point of view enthralled me. While the other character, Dan, was appealing, it was Kendra who held me captive throughout the story.
The writing style was perfectly suited to the narrative, keeping me riveted and unable to put it down. Nevertheless, at times, the protagonist's inner dialogue seemed redundant and could have been interwoven into the narrative, given the book's first-person point of view. Additionally, I observed some pacing issues, particularly towards the conclusion, when the book seemed rushed to tie up loose ends. Despite these minor imperfections, I adored the book, and I was hoping to see more of Kendra, the charming and alluring protagonist. The ship name "dandruff" was not only amusing but also an enjoyable touch.
To sum up, "Love Report" was a captivating read that filled me with joy and left me thinking about Kendra for days on end.
I have willingly submitted this review subsequent to being granted a complimentary preview copy.
Fast paced, second chance romance. Will Kendra give Dan a second chance after he broke her heart?
I liked how it is told from both points of view and look forward to more books from this author.
This book sounded so cute. I wanted to love it, but it was just fine. Very surface level, even with some big things happening in it. Wish I could recommend it, but it was just..fine.
I typically love a sports romance, which is another one to add to the shelf. I thought that the plot was great it got us out of the ballpark and put the sports star in someone else ballpark.
This is a fun ride through celebrity gossip and second chances! The stakes are low but you'll want these two to find their way through.
It isn't something I'd be into, however I did enjoy Dan's character and how he had realized his mistakes and well how hell bent he was. Kendra could have been a strong character but she seemed extremely wounded. And lastly, I really didn't feel any connection nor chemistry between the two.
3.5 stars for this sweet second-chance romance.
Kendra is a strong career-oriented woman. She was finally ready to love but instead got burned by the fun-spirited baseball player Dan. After their bad break-up, Kendra and Dan end up having to work side by side, delivering celebrity and sports news.
I found this story to be sweet and funny at times. I do wish there was more flirting and banter between them. I felt like they worked through their problems with their friends more than with each other. They even said it themselves at some point during the book - they were terrible at communicating with each other. I would agree.
I wish they confided more in each other and dug deeper into their issues together.
Overall cute story.
Once I started reading I could not stop, a well written and fast paced slow burn office/sports romance. More office less sport. Characters are well developed, in the first couple chapters I knew what Kendra & Dan were about. Very nice read. The ending felt a little bit cut short. Did I skip the part that mention how long they were apart?

This isn't my first time reading from Shellee Marie, I really enjoyed the last book she wrote. And, I really did liked the idea with this book! The sports romance was soo cute. I also really liked the characters which made this book easy to enjoy. This book was super sweet and cute! My biggest issue with this book was its pacing. While it is a slow burn I think it took too long for them to get together making the end very very rushed. Adding the inevitable conflict at the end, we barely got to see much of their relationship. I think this book was definitely good but could’ve been executed better. But overall, I really did enjoy reading this book and I definitely recommend this book and this author as well. 4.5 stars

This is my first time reading any books by Shellee Marie. I am a lover of baseball so when I read the synopsis I requested to read it. This is a great romantic comedy that I enjoyed reading. Dan Pelameno is a professional baseball player. Kendra is a celebrity news reporter. Dan and Kendra were once in a relationship and the two went their separate ways. As for Dan Kendra is the one that got away. The two meet up again when Kendra is all set to get an exclusive interview from Dan. Dan is all to happy to grant Kendra an exclusive interview in the hopes of rekindling what the two once shared. Kendra is doing her best to keep her feelings at bay for Dan but they are right there front and center.
This is a cute read. I would have loved more insight into what happened between Kendra and Dan; other than I enjoyed reading about Kendra and Dan navigating their way back to each other.
I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Cute read! Enjoyed imagining the on air scenes shared by Kendra and Dan. It would have been helpful to the storyline if the timeline for the relationship and reason for 'breakup' was clearer. It seemed weird how Dan let, married, and divorced in a span of months but was so in love. Having them two of them navigate their attraction, while trying not to be attracted was a laughable feat that added to making the read 'cute'.

Professional baseball player Dan Pelameno struck out with the woman of his dreams. So, when she calls to set up an exclusive television interview with him, he jumps at the second chance to set things right. He let her slip away once, but he won’t make the same mistake.
Celebrity news reporter Kendra Star thought she had moved on from her ex, Dan until she had to see him again for a work assignment. When the encounter lands him a gig at her job, she promises to keep her distance from him and his charming ways. But the more she has to work with him, the harder he is to resist.
It was a quick and fun rom com. The plot, the Dual pov and the characters were so interesting. I loved Kendra and her dynamic. I found Dan really cute and he was trying so hard for her forgiveness. The story was a bit slow burn and really rushed at the ending. I wanted to read more about them together. They had a good chemistry on and off camera. I enjoyed the story and certainly I want to read the author 's next works.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for leaving my honest review.
I loved the sports romance vibe. Even better than it was told from both perspectives. It was a cute book just seemed a bit lackluster for me. I wouldn't read again. I enjoyed the main characters I think it was the writing style that I couldn't completely get with.
I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publishers to read and review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.
I typically love a sports romance, which is another one to add to the shelf. I thought that the plot was great it got us out of the ballpark and put the sports star in someone else ballpark.
Dan has just ended a relationship in which he wasn't truly in love. The only thing he has is regret and mainly for the girl that got away.
Kendra has had a hard time lately - she is at a job she was fired from and doesn't feel appreciated, The man she was falling for ghosted her after she told him her feelings.
Dan decided to take a guest role at Kendra's works although she has made it clear she doesn't want anything to do with him after the rejection.
What I loved about this book:
This story was a super cute love story. I loved that Dan wanted to be with Kendra and was willing to work it out with her no matter what it took. This added some great tension to the dynamics.
I loved that the family issue that Dan was having was semi-resolved and the resolution was realistic to and what I would expect from a real person
What needed improvement
- the pace was a little off and the middle had some lacklustre moments
I liked this sweet story with dual pov and sports intertwined into it. However, I wish the pace and reading pattern flowed a bit better. I did not find myself able to not put it down, like I wish for all romantic comedies. I loved the fact that it was dual pov, and I would have loved to see more of Kendra and Dan together as a couple. The beginning and middle of the story were interesting and probably my favorite parts of the book. The ending felt rushed and like I did not get the entire story.
Overall, I think the story idea is adorable and I hope there is a sequel or interconnected story because I would love to hear more about their story that I felt wasn't included in the end.
Thank you NetGalley and Shellee Marie for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
