Thank you to Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, NetGalley & Wendy Million for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I was absolutely hooked from the very first page.
This is a second chance romance with forced proximity, fake dating and bed sharing. All of which I LOVE.
I really enjoyed how strong and courageous Tayla was. She didn't forget how hurt Simon made her and she made sure to remind him of her worth.
Simon showing Tayla how much he loves her and fighting for her was adorable.
The steam in this book was pretty mild but it still had some good moments that made me blush.
Overall this book was heartwarming, cute, and funny, I definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a good second chance romance!
I am typically not a fan of the second chance romance troops. So this has an uphill battle to climb. For their part, I liked the characters in the story. One thing I didn’t like was soulmates reunited or how they were worked into the story.
This is a really solid entry into the 'second chance romance' trope. Simon and Tayla are charming, even if I didn't quite agree with Tayla giving Simon another chance. There were so many reasons for her to choose not to forgive him and, imo, it felt a little bit dishonest for them to move forward the way they did. But I am, admittedly, a bit of a sucker for unnecessary angst, so that's really an issue with me rather than the book. It's charming and it's sweet, and parts of this had me giggling and twirling my hair around my finger -- it's SWEET, and the main couple really do work together (even if I would've liked a bit more drama!)
Million also really understands the genre and what people want out of it. It also helps that her writing is believable and pretty solid!
3.5/5, bumped to 4
I loved this book! Will be checking more out from this author and will be recommending it to friends!!!
Quick Summary: A love worth fighting for romance
My Review: Miss Matched by Wendy Million was an emotional rollercoaster mixed with a happy sigh and a sweet thank you. I loved this story!
About the Book: This angsty second-third chance love story reunited Simon, a green-eyed nurse with a face-planting past and Tayla, a raven-haired veterinarian with a broken heart wide open love for the aforementioned. Their story was one of friendship, laughter, chemistry, and the potential for forever...until it wasn't. Miscommunication, fear and anxiety, immaturity, and doubt led them down a path that ventured beyond each other.
On a quest to find more, in terms of a true partner and companion, Tay enlists the help of a dating service. Little did she know that it would cause her to cross paths with her ex. While Si was interested in Tay, she was only interested in getting as far away from him as she could. A question that needed to be answered was ever before them. Could they move beyond a heartbreaking betrayal and be completely reconciled?
My Final Say: This was a yes even before I finished.

The first thing that drew me to Miss Matched was the cover! For whatever reason, I'm always down for a book with a dog on the cover. Anyway, Miss Matched tells the story of Tayla, who is ready to fall in love. So what does she do? She signs up for an extremely expensive matchmaking software that just happens to pair her up with the last person on the Earth she wanted to be paired up with!
What I loved:
- Second chance romance, dual POV
- Easy to read. I really liked both Tayla and Simon as MCs and felt the angst between them
- Groveling. I loved seeing Simon work to win back Tayla and the emotions they both went through throughout the process
If you're looking for a second chance romance, I'd recommend giving this one a try!
A huge thank you to NetGalley, Wendy Million and W by Wattpad books for the opportunity to read this ARC!
The cover is what lead me to want to read this book. It’s beautiful. This is a second chance love trope and I did enjoy it. It was well written. I enjoyed the 2 different sides of the story. It was cute and funny. Sometimes a little to corny for my liking but still a fun read.

Miss Matched by Wendy Million is a second chance romance that follows nurse Simon Buchanan and doctor Tayla Murphy.
I loved how committed and determined Simon was to win Tayla back after breaking her heart six years prior. This showed how genuinely Simon was to Tayla, yet I also admire Tayla for first refusing to give him a chance.
Even with Simon's "groveling," I must admit that he broke Tayla's heart over the simplest of things six years ago, and I secretly wish Tayla hadn't even bothered to give him a chance. Also, Tayla stays mad at Simon for a very long time after learning the whole truth, which I would have been okay with if she hadn't forgiven him so easily for a box that he had saved up from their past relationship.
All things considered, there was a lot of potential for this book; but, there were a lot of things that could have been avoided.

I feel as if are two sides to this book. One side is a cute, fun, rom-com. The other side is a deep, emotional, read that shows how pressure from family and others can affect a relationship.
I loved the different sides to this story, and I thought the author did an amazing job showing the emotions, thoughts, and internal conflicts her characters had.
This book was cheesy (sometimes borderline cringy), but cute romance novel. I really enjoyed the story and would recommend it if romance is your thing.
This was very sweet and I liked it a lot. It was a fun second chance romance. The two MC were very likable and the hero wasn't the tormented asshole type and I appreciated that. A lovely, sweet, romantic story. I liked Tayla and Simon a lot. I loved that they both had their own insecurities and they were not "perfect". Both of them were such a wonderful match, these two flawed, yet fantastically strong individuals learning to trust eachother again was a complete treat to witness. The other characters were interesting too and I wish we'd get to know them better. The soulmate matching service plot was okay, but the resolution of it was kind of sloppy and left me underwhelmed.
But overall Miss Matched was a nice read. It had humor, romance and good plotline. And it was just the right combination of them. Recommended.
I had a hard time deciding between three and four stars for this one. Ultimately I would give it 3 1/2 so I rounded to four.
I am typically not a fan of the second chance romance troops. So this has an uphill battle to climb. For their part, I liked the characters in the story. One thing I didn’t like was soulmates reunited or how they were worked into the story. I understand the role they play in the story, and why they had to be kept in it till the end, it just did not add value past a certain point for me. Especially the way things end with the company... didn’t care for it.
The ending was cute, though. This is a story that will make a great audiobook. Depending on who narrates it, I would definitely listen to it, so I could hear it narrated.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
This book was delightful! The characters were so likeable and easy to root for. I loved Simon’s character development. I do wish the refund angle with the dating service had been more successful, it felt quite unsatisfactory. However, I loved that Simon came to Scotland with her and that she went in the first place! I would recommend this book!
The cover and the description of this book made me want to read it. Loved the connection between Tayla and Simon. Nice seeing the male MC being the one working hard for the HEA. He didn’t want to give up what he knew in his heart what was meant to be. They had some cute and memorable moments. Enjoyed the way the author incorporated the good and bad memories of their past relationship.
I was confused by some of the Soulmate Reunited aspect of the book. The cost being so large and how the male was matched so many times when the females can only me matched one and done. Some other things didn’t make sense but don’t want to put spoilers in. Also, I was unsure who was talking at times and had to reread parts to understand which one said it.
3.5 rating for chemistry of characters and the wonderful ending. Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to review an advanced copy.
I absolutely loved this book. It was such a fun read and an easy page turner.
I loved the spark Tayla & Simon, the cute back and forth banter and the dynamic between the two.
I also loved Ruby's character. I think she is such a great friend and I would actually love to see how her story plays out, going back to before she met her husband (if it doesn't exist already).
Thank you for the opp to read this as an advanced copy!
A second chance romance + fake dating + forced proximity= a winning formula for a story that will make you believe in love again!
Tayla gets matched with her ex, Simon, when she goes to an exclusive, expensive dating service. She is shocked because Simon broke her heart almost 6 years ago, and she doesn't want to see him or think about him ever again. When he shows up at her vet clinic, he proposes that they try to date again for one month. If things don't work out, he will help get her a refund from the company.
For the past 6 years, Simon has regretted how things ended with Tayla, and he plans to do everything that he can to show her that he's the right man for her. They spend time together, and feelings get stirred up again for both of them. Will they get their second chance at happiness or will their fake dating end with heartbreak again?
'Miss Matched' had some unexpected twists and turns, and I was pleasantly surprised by how it all turned out. The dual point of view really helped to get to know Tayla and Simon's feelings about each other, and I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I also enjoyed all of the animals in the book. It was a fun addition to the story!
'Any road that leads me to you, I choose that one"
Thanks to NetGalley and Wattpad Books for an ARC of this book.
Miss Matched by Wendy Millions was a concept that had me hooked from my first brief read of the description. I was so happy to get my hands on a copy, I read it immediately! The uniqueness of the concept comes from it centering a program that finds people their soulmates. The program is more intense than a normal dating app though and as the story goes on and on more sketchy things about it are revealed. I was skeptical of the program going into the book, so I was happy to get the MMC's perspective as early as chapter two.
One of my complaints is that they did not get into specifics about the money. I understand giving exact numbers in a book can kill it and pull readers out of the world, but the lack of specifics had me confused. Maybe a comparison or a direct explanation of how the FMC could afford the program would have been a better substitute. I just found myself not understanding her at times. Overall, just a minor issue I had.
Miss Matched had amazing humor that I can see attracting all demographics. The author reads as a millennial, but the humor doesn't seem like a Gen Z turn off (take it from me, Gen Z).
I love when books have animals and pets, I feel like it is a super forgotten element, so I am happy to see it in this book. And! Done well!
This would be a cute fun easy book to annotate if you are into that.
Every few chapters I had that "oh damn" moment that usually only happens during the final reveal at the end of a book. Pleasantly surprised with the regular little reveals. It kept a pip in my step as I read. I was dying every single page with anticipation. This is a foreign feeling for me in the RomCom genre. It was a feeling I enjoyed frequently!
Amazzzzzzzingggggggggggg chemistry. It was more than just science ;)
I enjoyed the climax, but the resolution did fall a little flat. The unsatisfactory feeling is awkward because I really did enjoy all the conflict leading up to it. I was invested in this predicament; it was my favorite part. I feel like I need a bit more though, like that is it? I guess a stronger ending might be unrealistic, but one could say if you take it this far already, just go for it? I will say though this ending did bring a 5 star read down to a 4. Still totally worth it though.
All things considered, I would say if this description interests you, then you should read the book. It provides exactly what you'd expect and desire.
Such a sweet read! Tay and Simon are such a perfect couple. I loved reading about their ups and downs and their friends are great supporting characters. I hoptheres a book in the future featuring Aaron’s perfect match too. I just wish there was more Pixie in the story, because who can resist a puppy?
Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this early!
Tayla uses a matching service and somehow ends up with her ex Simon. Simon promises that he will hep her a refund by the showing the service that the match was wrong. He suggests that they try dating to prove the agency wrong...
A cute book. It's fun to see how hard Simon works to gain back Tayla's trust. I feel so bad for Tayla for all that she went through. The ending was great and love the epilogue too.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
I enjoyed the second chance love story "Miss Matched" by Wendy Million. Overall the characters felt authentic and well written. A few things bothered me about the book, the main one being that people were paying 'house down-payment' type of money for a match making service and other people in the database were just added for free from free online dating sites?? This made no sense to me. First off there is no world in which I would pay my life savings for a dating site but even more unbelievable to find out your match got the same service for free???huh? I couldn't get past that. Parts of the plot were implausible and silly to me. Setting aside some of the believability of the situation the overall idea of thr story was unique and the rekindling of Simon and Taylas relationship was easy to invest in. I would rate this book 3.5 stars. It's worth a read if you enjoy second chance love.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Wattpad Corp for allowing me to access an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest feedback.
