I thoroughly enjoyed When the Time Comes and was greatly anticipating the next in the series ‘In This Moment’ when I learned that there would be three timelines, I was wondering how this would all work out with Meg time crossing. It was orchestrated beautifully by Gabrielle. I love history so it was lovely to read timelines that I had not lived and one that I did live through and see how she adapts to each everytime she crossed time. Gabrielle’s research is well done and thorough as she even travels to do book research, per following her on social media.
In the previous book you could clearly see what timeline she would prefer to stay in. In this book, she ended up needing to rely on the Lord to guide her. When I read these books I honestly take on how she is feeling and how much she loves each of her parents/families and how it is a difficult decision to make. It’s a clear reminder that sometimes we have no choice but to fully rely (and should) on God to guide us in life’s most difficult decisions. I can not wait for the next book. I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review. These opinions are solely my own.

I adored the first book in this time travel series, and In This Moment did not disappoint. Maggie has inherited time travel from each of her parents and finds herself living three lives: 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each is a year marked by war, and each is filled with people she loves. But she knows on her 21st birthday, she has to decide where she will stay. It could be jarring to travel back and forth between three time periods, but because the story is told solely from Maggie's POV, I felt incredibly connected to her journey. I cared as she navigated the journeys and experienced challenges in each life. A compelling read with wonderful characters and depth. Highly recommend.

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer is the second book in the Timeless series, but I think it works really well as a standalone. I loved the first book, When the Day Comes, so I’d say read the entire series because you won’t regret it, but if you really want to, this can work as a standalone.
This time, we have three different timelines instead of two, due to the unique nature of Maggie’s parents, who are both time travelers. I applaud the author for accomplishing such a feat, complete with different characters and family members in each time line, and keep them all interesting and distinct. It seems like a herculean feat to pull this off, so I wanted to start with compliments. And continue with compliments, as I absolutely loved this book and to no one’s surprise rate it 5 stars.
But first, we have Maggie/Meg/Margaret, from now on referred to as Maggie for convenience sake, who has a time line in 1861, 1941 and 2001. She lives one day in one age, and wakes up in the next time. By her 21st birthday, she has to choose a path by staying up late in the preferred timeline, from then on she only has one timeline to live in. For Maggie, this is quite the impossible choice, in every life she stands to loose something. In 1861 it’s her beloved Papa and a Civil War that’s at an outbreak where she feels she can make a difference with her healing skills. In 1941, her time traveling family lives, and she has a sister whom she cares deeply about and needs her. With her sister she is a navy nurse. In 2001, she lives for her school, as she desperately tries to finish med school before her 21st birthday, to soak up all the knowledge. Her ambitious and loving parents push her to be her best self and she shares a dorm with her bestie, who knows about her time travelling.
And in each path, she meets a guy… we have two politicians and a doctor. She’s holding everyone at a distance, as she doesn’t want to complicate her choice of timeline, but it’s getting increasingly hard… I have to say as someone who hates love triangles, this love square was very entertaining and very well done. I was invested in each path and outcome, and it didn’t feel like a love square because of the time crossing and the way things progressed. I can’t say much because of spoilers, but the romance was very well done and the main focus of this story, and I swooned a lot.
I loved how different the story is from When The Day Comes, how the focus lies on different things. In When the Day Comes the protagonist had made her choice early on, but here the focus lies on the doubt, on the merits of all timelines and above all, seeking the council of God for the course of your life versus your own ability to choose. There were many factors to take into account, and Maggie kept doubting her choices. Thankfully she is surrounded by many wise people, their wisdom spoke to me as well.
The shifting timelines make the story very interesting as there is never a dull moment, and I was equally invested in all of them. I was surprised by all the twists and turns, and at a certain date I was quite anxious, and wow that was excruciating. Maggie goes through a lot in all her timelines (I mean in most there is a war going on), and her grief felt raw and made me cry. I felt all the feels. For me the only downside is a resolution that felt too quick/abrupt, but otherwise, I love this book to bits front to cover. I recommend it to everyone who wants a book with both depth and romance, combined with amazing characters. I can safely say Gabrielle Meyer has made her way into my autobuy author list.
I received a free e-arc through Netgalley but this hasn’t influenced my opinions.

I loved the first book in this series, but I think that this one was even better! I love that Margaret has three different time lines in this one, and that each one dealt with something unique. I love how the author tied it all together. I can only imagine how hard it would be to have to choose one story to be a part of! I highly recommend picking up this story!
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my honest review.

I had previously read When the Day Comes by this author, which was first in this Timeless series, and really enjoyed it! So it was a pleasure to get to read the second book of the series. I enjoyed it just as much! When you first hear about characters who live in more than one time, it sounds a bit hokey, but this author truly made it work!
I received this book from the publisher via net galley in exchange for an honest review.

Soooo incredibly binge-worthy! Wow do I love this series! I wish there were 100 of these books to read haha! Gabrielle Meyer does an amazing balancing act between not two, but three timelines - and wow did she pick great ones! I was totally here for it all. At this point, I think I would read anything Meyer writes!

After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to continue the story of time-hopping individuals who got to live in more than one timeline for the first 21 (or more) years of their lives. The addition of a third timeline had its good and bad points for this book, I thought. It was fun to explore more timelines, but was sometimes a lot to keep up with. I like the main character, who was the daughter of two time-hoppers. I thought the story was well-plotted and had just the right amount of angst over which timeline she would choose. I do wonder how anyone could choose not to have electricity, indoor plumbing, and modern medicine, however. That's a choice I don't think I could make! Overall it was a great book and I hope she writes a third one after seeing the end of this one.

Gabrielle Meyer has managed to write a sequel to When the Day Comes that is just as entertaining and inspirational as the first book in the series! I loved the historical significance of the three dates the time traveling main character lives through, and they all paralleled each other in a meaningful way and the smart and careful main character. The three separate plots were all tied together in a natural way and the romances were realistic and well developed. Plus it included a very good message about being patient until God's plan is revealed and trusting in it.

After reading Gabrielle Meyer’s first book in this time traveling series, I was extremely excited to read In This Moment and was not disappointed! Maggie’s lives in three separate time periods, 1861, 1941, and 2001. She is pulled in all three directions trying to decide which life she will pick by her 21st birthday. I really enjoyed having a more modern time period (2001) in this book and couldn’t wait to find out which world Maggie eventually chooses. I enjoyed this second installment even better than the first!

Finished before 3am.
“I’m so used to uncovering selfishness and betrayal. I almost don’t know what to do with sacrifice and hope.”
"You can hold it close,” I told him, “just as I am trying to do.”
Listen, I'm not a huge fan of time slips. I just don't love being jarred from time period to time period. I almost didn't request this book, because who wants to be jarred in THREE directions? Not to mention the love square.
But it just goes to show that even those ingredients that I generally don't love can still create a compelling story in the hands of the right author. I really didn't know what or how Meg/Maggie would choose which era to stay in, because she loved all three of them and had meaningful work and relationships in all.
There's some lines about following your heart that I think could be misconstrued out of context. In this case, she prayed for guidance first and foremost, and the Lord really did seem to be letting her make the decision, like there was no wrong answer, spiritually speaking. So in those cases, how do you make such a life changing decision? I think we've all been there - and then in hindsight you can see how God did answer and lead you to the final choice. In the end, the question was answered and the choice obvious.
Loved the plot twist halfway through. This author's writing and unique stories result in books I just can't put down.
I read a copy provided by the publisher and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

After reading Gabrielle Meyer’s novel, When the Day Comes, (which blew me away), she has become one of my favorite authors. Gabrielle has an incredible imagination, writing style, and her love of history spills over onto the pages of her novels. When I read the last page of book one in this timeless series, I hadn’t a clue what this book would explore. I couldn’t imagine the adventures she’d take me next. I thought I’d get lost in reading, In This Moment, because there are three timelines to follow, but this author brilliantly and seamlessly takes readers on an incredible journey through time hitting some horrific moments in the past, seen through Maggie’s and her loved one’s eyes. On her 21st birthday, which was quickly. Approaching, she had to choose which timeline to live in forever. There were hard choices to be made. She loved people in all three timelines, how could she choose?
This is a captivating, heart-felt novel you don’t want to miss. This makes for a wonderful book club discussion. If you haven’t read a book by this author treat yourself to this timeless series.

Another fantastic time travel/jumper story from Gabrielle Meyer!
This story follows the daughter of book 1’s hero and heroine, Margaret Hollingsworth. Maggie lives in three different decades, due to the double birth marks she was born with. Readers are treated to major historical events in 1861, 1941, and 2001 that shaped America.
Maggie feels called to work in medicine, and in each of her paths she is able to practice it somehow. Determined not to fall in love and to choose the best path, Maggie tries to focus on her work. Of course, she’s presented with three charming possible love interests to distract her – one for each path.
There’s a lot to like about this story. Each storyline has its own heartaches, intrigue, and secrets that make Maggie’s decision difficult. Each path places her in Washington D.C., providing an interesting glimpse into how the city changed – and stayed the same – over 150 years.
By far, my favourite hero is Graydon. He’s a gentleman through and through, even though it’s obvious he has secrets of his own. Zechariah’s journey is remarkable and turns out to be a great hero too. Seth is the least likeable hero, even though he’s extremely charming. Maggie’s choice isn’t easy!
I enjoyed this story and look forward to book three (I’m hoping there’s one!).
I received a copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

IN THIS MOMENT is another clever time crossing novel by GABRIELLE MEYER. This time the protagonist, having two time crosser parents, lives in three different time zones. She is Margaret Wakefield in 1861, Maggie Hollingsworth in 1941, and Meg Clarke in 2001. In each of these time periods she has a romantic interest and we wonder if this will influence her decision as to which life she will choose on her 21st birthday? She also has beloved family members in each of her lives which makes her choice difficult. In spite of the strangeness of her life, she seems to have been brought up knowing the Lord, and we see her trying hard to choose the life He wants for her. ……
The three periods chosen by the author, together with the world changing events during those times of history are woven very well into the story.
I found the book interesting and enjoyable with its three stories in one.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completelymy own.

This book made me nervous, in the aspect of it had a great premise and I knew it while either be a can't put down page turner or it would be a giant fail. I'm happy to report it was the first! I've never read a book quite like it, with three time travel periods and now I'm hoping this is going to be a a series because it was fascinating!!!!

One of my most anticipated reads of the year.
Maggie time travels and lives 3 different lives between 3 different time periods..1861, 1941, and 2011.
Upon her upcoming birthday she must choose which year to stay in and which of the 3 men she will choose to stay with.
This story pulled me in quickly just like the first of the series. I had to keep reading to see what would happen.
It was interesting this go around to see Maggie live 3 lives that were all taking place at the start of a war.
The writing was beautifully done and I was first torn for her and the decision she had to make. I will say I was very happy with how it concluded. I hope this isn’t the last in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy.

In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer is a delightful time traveling story. I do enjoy how Meyer puts her characters in important moments of history, and her words allow the reader to feel like they are actually there experiencing the event. This time around, readers are in the Civil War, World War II, and right before 9/11. Since Meyers has already explained the time traveling gene in the previous books, readers familiar with the first book will notice that is not covered in this edition. However, this time around, the story focused a lot on the romance in each time period. Sometimes I thought it was a little overdone. Yes, the main character, Maggie does wonder what she is going to do when she travels back and forth and what time period she is going to stay in. However, the romance of each time period seems to be the more pressing issue. I, personally, don’t mind a little bit of romance, but I don’t like to see it overcome the story line. This time around, it does seem to do this a little too much. The events are interesting that Maggie time travels to. I enjoyed seeing the affects that it has on her as she knows information about each time period before it happens except 2001. The readers are familiar with what is about to happen, so we are waiting anxiously to see how this plays out. Meyers does leave a little twist at the end of the book that will make readers want to see her next novel and see what happens. I know I can’t wait to read the next book, if there is one.
I received a complimentary copy of In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer from Bethany House Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Another wonderful time-slip story from Gabrielle Meyer. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. I liked how the author kept the reader in the dark as to which time period Maggie would choose. The historical information regarding the three time periods was fascinating. The author brought to life how the situations of the Civil War, WWII, and the Twin Tower attacks affected individuals and those they loved. I hope Ms. Meyer has another story or two in the making for this series, Timeless. There is a strong message as to the work of God in our lives and how He draws us closer as we navigate uncertainties and challenges. Readers who love historical fiction and time-travel genres will NOT want to miss In This Moment. I read a complimentary copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

I was not previously familiar with this series, but I thoroughly enjoyed IN THIS MOMENT. I sympathized with Margaret as she juggled three different lives in various time periods. The author does a fantastic job of making each storyline equally compelling, which is so hard to do.
My one complaint is that some parts are over-written. For example, the author says the same thing multiple times such that a character departing a room can take 1.5 pages. I wish she trusted the reader to get the point without repetition. This would make for a tighter and slightly shorter manuscript overall.
The ending is super satisfying, and I admired how the author wrapped everything up. The message of faith in God is also handled beautifully.
I look forward to more from Meyer.

1861, 1941, 2001? Which of these times will 20-year-old Margaret choose? Born with a gift to travel across time, Margaret lives three vastly different lives and must make a choice by her 21st birthday, which life she wants to live forever. In 1861, Margaret is daughter to a U.S. Senator, living in Washington D.C. on the cusp of the American Civil War. She meets Mr. Gray Cooper. Exactly who is Mr. Cooper, what secrets is he hiding, and why does her heart seem drawn to him? In 1941, Maggie is a nurse working at the Naval Medical Center in Washington D.C. She is assigned to work with the gruff and surly Dr. Zechariah Phillips. She realizes that under that brusque demeanor is a man who she very much wants to get to know better. But a transfer to Pearl Harbor, might put their relationship in jeopardy. In 2001, Margaret is a fourth-year medical student at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. Her best friend and roommate Delilah knows all her secrets. Margaret meets the outgoing and handsome Congressman Seth Wallace, who charms her and steals her heart. In each time, Margaret is falling in love with a different man, how can her heart choose? How can she withhold information from those she loves in 1861 and 1941 when it could save their lives? She might live in three separate times; however, her heart lies in each time. When terrible tragedy strikes, the choice of where she stays may not be up to her. Will her faith in God crumble under the tragedies? I have waited in such anticipation for this novel. I genuinely enjoyed “When the Day Comes,” the first in the Timeless series, and was hoping that this second novel would be just as good. I was not disappointed. I could not put it down. I was rooting for Margaret in all three times and could not choose myself, what time I wanted her to stay in! The historical detail and the depth of the character’s emotions and faith were impeccable. Themes of faith, hope and courage wound themselves throughout each chapter. I kept reading long into the night because I wanted to find out what would happen. I loved how real-life characters in each time made appearances in Margaret’s lives. Ms. Meyer is a gifted storyteller and was able to deftly weave three fantastic stories together. The ending came with a surprise which I hope carries over into a third novel in this fantastic series. “In This Moment” is a captivating novel that will leave readers clamoring for more! I thank NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers for the ARC of this book. I am not required to give a positive review. All opinions within this review are my own.

The first book in this series, When the Day Comes, blew me away, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on In This Moment! I loved how Gabrielle took the parallel time lines to another level by the heroine living in THREE time periods at once. I wondered how she could make this one near as good as the first, because the first was so creative and surprising. But she once again proved why she is one of my top favorite fiction author discoveries of 2022!
Just like the first one, I hesitate to say anything about the story because I don't want to spoil the experience before someone reads it. I loved that one of the time periods was so modern--2001--and how Maggie had to keep herself from using that modern medical knowledge in her other lives in 1941 and 1861. Even the slightest things may trigger a cascade of change, and yet the fact Maggie isn't a time traveler from the future but actually has lived a full life in the past as well--that's just fun to read about and mentally play with.
