I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
While the topic is important, the writing style of the book took away from it. The author gave a brief overview of what happened, then went back and forth between the trial and the past while mixing in information about the statistics and laws concerning missing and murdered Native American women. The repetition of the information from the main case and going back and forth in time took away some of the impact of what was being said. However, I would still suggest reading the book to learn about the topic in general.
Searching for Savanna by Mona Gable not only delves into the tragic story of Savanna and her family and her baby, it also goes into the history of the lack of action by the United States government in regards to missing Native women.
